My Documents missing?

Yesterday when I got home from work, I went to turn on my imac g5 and it got stuck at the Apple logo screen with the spinning gear, and the fan noise was extra loud. This happened with my ibook last year so I was in a bit of a panic, but, with the help of this forum I got it started up in single user mode and then ran that fsck thing. So, that seemed to work, except then when it rebooted it asked for my login. I never had my computer password protected on login before, but figured the password would be the same as when it comes off of screensaver. But when I put in that password, it told me it was incorrect. When my hint popped up, it was the same hint. I know i was not forgetting my password. It has always been the same, I never change it. So. I took the install discs and used that to change the master password. It worked and my computer started and everything was fine, except all of my folders are missing except for my applications. My documents, pictures, music.. they're all gone. And the clock on the top right corner of my screen is gone as well . And all of my bookmarked pages on Safari (and all my settings for internet pages, ichat, my desktop wallpaper, etc) and now Firefox isn't working at all. I did a search for something I knew was in my documents and it came up in finder and I could view the file, but it just doesn't show up unless I do a search. Is there any way to get everything back to normal? I'm not sure if the problem came from resetting the password, or from running fsck. Thanks!

Sounds to me like you are logged-in as an Administrator, and that your files are in a different "User Account".
Go to your hard drive, and make sure that you are in the "Hard Drive" folder. Not a user folder. If you are unsure of your location, click on the picture of the hard drive in the left-hand column of the window.
Now, go into the Users folder
See if there are other user-names in there.
If there are, try browsing through those user accounts and see if your files are in one of those.
If so, then you may try one of two options:
Option 1) Just copy everything from that account into your current account.
Option 2) Setup that user account to work.
To use Option 2, go into the system preferences (under the  menu). Then, choose "Accounts".
Find the account with your information in it (if it's there) and give it a new Username and Password.
Then, exit out, and try and log-into that account with the new Username and Password.
Now, if the previous user had been deleted, then you could using the information in this article to restore that user account:

You'll see how to create and delete user accounts.
You'll notice that when you delete an account, it keeps the user account, but stores it in a disk image.
My thought is that if your old account is stored as a disk image, then you may be able to use the methods in this article to restore that account from the disk image.
Anyway, that gives you some things to try.

  • Error opening document: missing file

    I have a Pages template that has started opening up with the following error box:
    The following errors occurred while trying to open this document:
    Missing file: businesscircles_logosgrey.pdf
    When I hit "continue", the document (template) opens up fine and appears to be missing nothing. I've searched my computer for the missing file and it doesn't exist (and I have no recollection of why I'd insert a pdf into a template anyway...)
    Within Pages I've clicked in View>Show Invisibles, thinking that might reveal something. It didn't.
    Any ideas? Thanks!

    I had this problem a while ago with an old version 1.x file when open it in Pages 2. After some examination, it seems to appear with placeholder objects mainly (like the image you are writing about). But this was the only time I encountered the problem.

    try to copy the image from the business letter template with this steps:
    1) Click on the Pages app icon with holding the control key down and choose the item "Show the Package Content" of the appearing menu.
    2) Navigate to the business letter template "Contents/Resources/<YourUsedLanguage>.lproj/Templates/ISO/Stationery/" (or "Traditional" instead of "ISO" if you are using Legal and no DIN letter sizes).
    3) Do "Show the Package Content" on the letter icon and you will see a new window with all the content of the letter.
    4) Search for the image and copy it.
    5) Show your own letter document (the document should be closed in Pages), with which the error appears, and show the package content.
    6) Paste the image into the package folder.
    Now the error message should not appear by opening the document. Search your document if the logo image is placed in it. If yes, have a look at the menu "Format/Advanced/" if the image is marked as a placeholder image. Deactivate this and than delete the image. Save the document (perhaps as a duplication) and close it. See if the problem is gone by open the new document again.

  • Invoice document missing in MCSI report

    Hi Friends,
    This is regarding missing invoice documents in MCSI report in our production system.
    it was found that two invoice document numbers for a customer were missing where as these two documents are being displayed in BW report.
    I have checked in Info structure table through SQVI query and found that these invoice are not available. STAFO field in VBRK table is updated for these two invoice documents.
    Can anyone tell me what is the process to analyse the issue and how to update only those two missing invoice documents in MCSI report (Infostructure).

    - Doc. statistics group @ Invoice type / item category could be missing
    - At the time of execution of report, these settings might not be in place i.e. these doc type / item cat- may not relevant for statistics.
    The above points you have mentioned are not valid as there is no new configuration made and further this is a support project.
    I hope the third point which you have mentioned as below is a valid one.
    - Proper updation of info structure might not be done.
    As per this message, I understood that there was no proper updation of infostructure for those two invoice document numbers. Further, to update two invoice documents in infostructures, we need to run transaction code OLI9.
    Can you please comment on my below queries:
    - Can the transaction be run in live system during any time?
    - Is there any impact on other invoice data in infostructures?
    - If the transaction is executed, all the current infostructures get updated with correct invoice data?
    - What is the impact of executing Txn -  MCVV. Does this transaction only simulates and gives the log on updation of invoice document? or it also adjusts/ updates any data in system?

    For few ML document types are missing in PCA . FI entries are correct, however in GL line item report in coumn Amt loc.curr.2 is not matching with column  LC amnt. material ledger is active. Due to this MAP (per unit price) is not matching for company code currency and PCA valuation.

  • FINANTIAL DOCUMENTS MISSING --- ORACLE LOGS FULL

    Hi Experts,
    9 documents are missing and when they were saved the system showed the message "update has been stopped". This was because of the Oracle LOGS (full).
    When Oracle problem was solved the documents were not found in SM13 to recovered.
    Any clue?
    On the other hand If a have finantial documents in QAS how can I put it on PRD?

    Schedule your backups according to the full backup time.
    Do a test of full backup and fine the time that it takes to complete the full backup. You can include "plus archivelog" if you want your archive logs to be backed up along with the full backup. This is most preferred as this makes restoration easy too.
    If your full backup takes, say, 4 hrs to complete and if you schedule your full backup at 00 00 hrs on your scheduler, then schedule the archive backups after 04 00 hrs. This will solve your problems with missing archive backups.

    This will throw out errors if your input to full backup consists "delete input" for your archived logs, else the process will not have any problem and succeed.
    Also when one or more of backups run concurrently, "ORA-00230: operation disallowed: snapshot control file enqueue unavailable" error may occur but this is rare case.

  • Document missed in Inventory at the time of INIT

    Hello,
    In Inventory Cube 0IC_C03 we took INIT on 16.Oct.08 at approx 11:56 am.
    After a long time today we saw that Closing amount for a particular material is not matching with that of R/3.
    When analysed, we found that One material Document was posted on 16.oct.08 at 12:20 pm (the time when we were taking INIT).
    Quantity against that document number was pulled into BW but anyhow Amount was left. That day it was first entry for that material also. Now due to absence of Amount againt that Document No., our closing Amount is not matching.
    How can we pull the missed Amount without duplicationg other data against that Documnet no. which was already pulled at the time of INIT.

    It will be based upon the standard cost at the date of return, if material master has been controlled with moving average price
    If the material master has been controlled with standard price, the price doesn't change.

  • Billing documents missing in SD data target.

    Hello All,
    In a SD data target some Billing documents are missing. I cheked in R3. In R3 some billing documents are there but they didn't load in BW. Becouse of these In report it is showing net value inccorrect while in R3 it is somthing else.
    Plz tell me How I will load those missing Billing documents in BW.

    Here are the steps :
    1 - Determine what are the Billing documents that are not appearing in BI.
    2 - Check the document flow of these Billing documents using TCode VF03 
    3 - If you found that the steps of this Billing documents are not complete, then SD/ FI users need to do further processing on them to be loaded in BI.
    4 - If Billing document's document flow is complete, then follow the steps mentioned by our friends .. i.e fill the setup table..etc

  • Dynamic Documents missing plugin

    Hello,
    I tried to open an InCopy today and recieved an error that I was missing a plugin called "Dynamic Documents.InDesignPlugin." I checked in my plugin folder and sure enough it was still in the "Graphics" folder. What does this plugin control? Is there a PDF of what each needed Plugin controls? I'd love to have that.
    The document won't open. What could this mean?

    I'm having the exact same problem and it has nothing to do with trying to open a file created with a newer version of Indesign. It happens the moment I try to launch InDesign and it started immediately following Adobe Updates. So it is not a "version conflict," it was caused by running an Adobe Update. Rather than "moving this discussion to the InDesign forum," which I can't find (and why do the breadcrumbs at the top list "All Communities > InDesign > Discussions" if this isn't the InDesign forum?), how about actually thinking about answering the question?

  • Some Material Documents Missing Partially

    We took Inventory Data INIT last yr. on 16.10.2008 & first DELTA was also taken on the same day after 5-6 hrs.
    Now the problem is that certain Material Documents are missing partially for 16.10.2008
    For eg. there are two line items against Material document ABC
    Mat. Doc    Posting Date      Movement Type       Storage Location     Qty in un. of entry     Amount in LC   Entry Date  Entry Time

    Second Line item agains which M. Type, Storage Location Y Qty. is blank, is missing in to BW. While the first line item is pulled into BW.
    Similar is the case with some other material Documents also. Also i believe these documents are missing only from INIT & first DELTA request only.
    Is there any way to identify the missing Material Documents??

    Using 2LIS_03_* DataSources you are extracting the data, if you fill the setup tables properly, it won't miss any data. See the following threads.

    Hi Experts,
    I have an Issue.Pls. treat this on Prioriy basis:
    User created material document numbers from 5000000400 to 5000000410, in which numbers  5000000401 to  5000000409 are missing.The numbers couldn’t be found in the display nor in MB51,mb03 (material doc list ). In the display page of the missing nos the following message is displayed at the bottom of the screen as --- “ document does not exist in calender year 2007. “
    Checked out the table MKPF, gave the mat doc num range from 5000000400 to 5000000410... THE RESULT WAS IT DISPLAYED ONLY 5000000400 & 5000000410.rest were not to be seen even in the Table MKPF.What could have been the reason? Pls. suggest!

    I have been loading daily deltas from ERP to ODS and then to cube datasouce 2lis_13_VDITM but users found that some of the billing doc missing already deltas are upload from ODS to Cubes and  we cant delete the data . the data is huge . is there any way that we can upload the missing documents .

    Yes correct, make sure you load Full repair and not Full.
    Full repair can be said as a Full with selections. But the main use or advantage of Full repair load is that it wont affect
    delta loads in the system. If you load a full to a target with deltas running you again will have to initialize them for
    deltas to continue. But if you do full repair it wont affect deltas.
    This is normally done we when we lose some data or there is data mismatch between source system and BW.
    Check the OSS Note 739863 'Repairing data in BW' for all the details.

    Setup tables
    Setup tables hold historical data. Setup tables are based on the concept of Cluster tables means the data will be stored in a big table in database layer and it can be viewed in multiple smaller tables in application layer.
    Before doing Full or Init we have to do statistical setup. When we run statistical setup tables will be filled with the data,
    normally historical data, the data goes from database tables to Setup table. If you run the full or Init in BW then the data
    will be extracted from the setup tables. If you run the Delta then it will fetch from the delta queue. We use setup tables
    while we are doing Repair full request also. Repair full is nothing but extraction the historical data without disturbing the
    delta loads.
    Before running Statistical setup its good practice to delete setup tables’ contents to avoid data redundancy.
    The reason of using Set up table is that the SAP doesn't permit the extraction structure tables to access the database tables directly like. Rather than getting the data directly from the source tables (EKPO, MARC, VBRP, VBRK), the data is stored in Set up tables, which you can use for update to BW. After that all transaction data is posted to the delta queues in the source system. After a successful full upload you can delete the setup tables.
    Only after this step (initialization) any modification will be available as delta, following the schema explained before. In
    OLTP (R/3) the info packages retrieve data from the setup tables (and no postings have to be in the meanwhile, otherwise there would be some data loss!), which are assigned to the extract structures.
    You fill these tables using special setup transactions in OLTP (OLI*BW).
    For each extract structure, one setup table with the name of the extract structure and 'SETUP' as a suffix exists.

  • Printing - part of document missing

    I have been using Pages successfully for months and printing OK to an Epson Stylus CX5000.
    I have just changed my printer (to get better photo quality) to a Canon Pixma MP810.
    But now when I print existing Pages documents that print out perfectly on the Epson, I get a bit missing.
    Specifically - the files are A4 colour pages consisting of 2 columns of black text and one colour photo. Under the colour picture there is a solid rectangle of yellow with a black type caption printing over the top. The solid yellow rectangle prints as 2 thin lines of yellow under the black type. The photo itself and which is on the same page prints perfectly.
    If I run a print nozzle test - the test pattern and colour is perfect.
    If I copy the solid yellow rectangle and paste it elsewhere on the page - then it doesn't print at all.
    If I convert the Pages doc to a PDF - I get the same printed result; the yellow rectangle does not print.
    If I create a new Pages document consisting of just 3 solid rectangles of Cyan, Magenta and Yellow - yes you guessed it - the yellow rectangle does not print! BUT if I create the same document in 'Appleworks' - it prints correctly.
    On all the Pages document with yellow rectangles that do not print - they show correctly in Print Preview.
    Anyone got any idea what is going on here? I have the latest 'Pages' software upgrade installed.

  • Upload multiple documents missing

    The upload documents option is missing for a user that has Office 2012, Sharepoint 2010  and IE 9 on their local machine. It is working fine on the server that has Office 2010, Sharepoint 2010 and IE9. So it looks like it is either an Office 2012
    issue or a setting on IE but I have no idea what. Could their be a compatibility issue between Sharepoint 2010 and Office 2012? has anyone else had this problem?

    Your question is a bit unclear:
    There isn't an office 2012 that i know of. Do you mean Office 2013?
    Does the user have a development SharePoint instance installed on a Windows 7 machine? The more normal exaple would be that you have one SharePoint 2010 installation on the server and a user accessing the site from a Windows 7 desktop.
    Is the user able to upload single documents using the Upload Document button on the ribbon but is unable to upload multiple items?
    If all of that is true: The user is probably missing Silverlight or the steps in the link Amit included should be followed.
