My down arrow fell off, and it won't go back on. How do I fix this without going to an apple store?

My down arrow came off and I cannot get it to click back on. I live a good hour and a half away from an apple store. Is there anyway to fix it without having to make that trip??

Been there, done that. My Caps Lock key suddenly decided to become a Mexican Jumping Bean. A bit of plastic had broken off the scissors mechanism when it was barely 3 months old. Apple called it a "cosmetic damage", wanted to replace the WHOLE TOP CASE, and wanted to have me pay for the gutting, to the tune of $900.
Went to https://www.replacementlaptopkeys.com/ got myself a new keycap and had it on 10 minutes after the postman dropped the envelope. Been a happy camper ever since, to the tune of $4.95 + shipping.
P.S. Since now the outlines on the O, E and Delete keys are now rubbing off, I'll go proactive, buy those keycaps as well and pop off the damaged ones. Way to go, Apple with the "quality computers".

1. Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.

First, update iTunes, then connect the phone to the computer and do a restore. This will also get your iOS up to date. Your phone should operate correctly after doing this, if not, you will most likely need to have the phone serviced or replaced.

Try giving your iPad a reset. Hold down the sleep and home keys for about 20 seconds. When you see the silver apple, let go and let it reboot and try again.
How are you charging it? its's best charged plugged into the wall not via USB. So if you're trying via USB, try using the supplied power block plugged into the wall.

I keep getting the pop up message: "Photo Stream- Photos for the iCloud account .....cannot be accessed. Review your account information in System Preferences". It just keeps popping up over and over and over again and every time I try enter my password or try to reset my password it says it is incorrect. I've reset my password so many times now and it never takes. If I sign out of iCloud will any of my photos be deleted on my Macbook? When I try to sign out, it threatens me that it will delete any photos that have not been uploaded to the cloud. I think it has become self aware. If you want Apple to help you you'll have to take the Mac to a store.
Your problem is very unusual, the only suggestion I can give is to back up all your personal data and reinstall Mac OS X as it appears to be corrupted somehow. It may also be worth replacing the hard drive at the same time.
The worst case scenario is that your Mac is actually failing, it does happen, your best bet is to get a specialist to look at it.
I'm sorry you haven't been helped here but you must understand that the community can only help with problems they have answers to.

When I called Apple Support to ask about the 100% CPU usage, they wanted to charge me because my Ipod was out of warranty. I insisted on talking to someone and finally got to talk to a software engineer for free. He said that he had never heard of the problem in his three years at Apple. Nonetheless, he sounded really interested and suggested that it might be a conflict with anti-virus software. I deleted the antiviruse and that DID NOT HELP AT ALL.
It seems as if Apple could care less. There is no official response. Their primary response is to look at the Forum. At least you find out that the problem isn't your fault, it really is Apple!!!!
So far the best solution is just to delete iTunes and use Mediamonkey to sync your pod.

They said I need it to erase my hard drive but I have too many family pics on it.
would Seagate Barracuda ST2000DM001 2TB Serial ATA Hard Drive - 7200RPM, 64MB, SATA 6Gb/s worked on it? I could replace the internal and get an enclosure for the original until I get the pics out of it?
Please advise, it's like five years of family pics I don't wanna loose them and I am worried.

I really apprecate your very quick respond, Its too late to back up as of now, my hard drive wont load at all so I cannot follow your instruction to back it up. Learn a hard lesson but I will from now on following your link.
Also my hard drive it is not available to do the free exchange program.
I read the OWC instruction on how to replace the drive I was just wondering if the 2TB would work on it instead of the 1 TB they offer, I specifically asked for the Seage Barracuda because I had great experiences with it on PCs.

Even with the mains plugged in there is no green or orange light to say its charging or full charged. The battery was fully charged anyway seconds before the screen went off.

When you say no green or orange light are you refering to the little led on the magsafe connector? That could mean either the charger/cable are bad or the circuitry in the MBP is faulty. Since this is a brand new MBP best bet is to take it back to an Apple Retail store and have the genius bar staff take a look. They can determine if it needs to be reparired or replaced.

Check your cable whether it is good. If it is use the wall plug to charge at least half an hour. See how it goes.

Ok, I've tried to plug it back in, and when the plug reaches a certain point, it pops sorta. Which tells me that it's the psu unit that's gone. This puter is only 2 years old. I've already had to send it in for a complete hard disk die, now this. It's a Touchsmart IQ770. Yes, made the mistake of getting one of the first ones. Not only that, it's Vista all the way. So, this computer is screwed both ways all the way. When it works, it's wonderful, but since it only works half the time, it's definitely not worth the money, time, headaches or worry that it entails to have. It's an expensive piece of @#*(!!!!) The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
