JComboBox - selection down arrow not appearing
Hi All,
I am writing a swing application which uses a JComboBox with a Vector<String> as it's constructor arguments. This JComboBox is then added to a JPanel derived class which is in turn added to a JFrame. The JComboBox works fine but the selection down arrow does not appear for some reason.
So I built a quick test application (in a similar fashion) and the JComboBox also works fine but this time the selection down arrow does appear.
I can't figure out what I'm doing different. Can anyone tell me the circumstances under which the down arrow will / will not appear in a JComboBox?

The reason I had used this approach is that sometime I wish the content pane to hold a JPanel type component (only) and sometimes a JTable type (only). I had (foolishly perhaps) assumed that this would not be possible with a standard layout manager.
As es5f2000 suggests I shall investigate a CardLayout manager.
If this does not succeed I shall keep the present system which currently works fine (maybe performance issues?). The bounds and size of the parent container are both work fine so long as I remember to call .validate() on the new component being added to the JFrame.
The JFrame itself is specifically set to be a fixed non-resizable size, surely this is a case in which although not recommended, it's ok to use absolute positioning?

Drop down is not appearing in firfox
i have the jsf page in that dropdowns are not appearing correctly when i am using firefox it displays only half size also there are more spacing between the components but it was working fine in IE..please give me an some suggestion for that..

Spry Drop Down Menu not appearing in I.E.8
I have created a spry drop down menu in Dreamweaver CS5, brought it to my webpage in Macromedia Dreamweaver, uploaded it and when I view the website in I.E. 8 only the top tabs of the menu appear. When I scroll over it, no drop down menu shows. Please help.

Apple drop down menu not appearing.....
Recently had to do a complete restore from my back up to my mac mini.
Seems to have sorted out most of the problems I was having (but not all).
However the Apple Symbol drop down Menu in the Menu bar turns blue when clicked on, but no sub menu appears.
Very inconvenient.
I'd be grateful for any thoughts on a solution to this.
And while I'm on the subject of weird things that the restore has produced......
I use iWeb to create a number of websites but now, after the restore, the icon in the dock is grey and when I try to open it I get a message that says
You can't open the application iWeb because it may be damaged or incomplete.
Any suggestions or possible solutions gratefully received.

The download button as described on the HELP page doesn't appear on the page listing my purchase.
The HELP instructions list that such a button must be clicked to down load an item.
I have made 3 purchases of the same song in an attempt to download it.
Only one of those purchases appears on the page that list purchases available to down load.
I wrote out a copy of the HELP page instructions (the page can't be printed) so I could accurately follow it as I tried to do the down load.

I was running Foxfire 3.6.9 and wanted to use FTP Program add-on and it did not appear to load but appeared but then would be installed but not run or appear under tools. So I deleted Foxfire 3.6.9 and down loaded to 3.5.9 so it could get FTP and it is doing the same could not install. Even after I registered my copy. The last time I used this program it showed up under tools and worked great. any suggestions on whats going on and how I can get around this?.by ralphd3g
Delete the files extensions.* (extensions.rdf, extensions.cache, extensions.ini) and compatibility.ini in the Firefox [[Profiles|profile folder]] to reset the extensions registry.

If you see disabled extensions that are not compatible on the next start in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions" then click the "Find Updates" button to do a compatibility check. -
Cursor does not appear on Facebook page load. Spacebar shifts page down.
Cursor does not appear anywhere on Facebook page load. It used to land in the first text box, and as I was used to this I would open an FB page and start typing. Nothing was entered into the text box, and when I hit Spacebar it shifts the page down.
Couple of things:
It acts this way both in normal and in "safe mode".
It acts correctly on Google - it is my home page and when I open it the cursor is always in the search box. It also acts correctly on YouTube.
The cursor DOES NOT appear in the URL bar (thankfully)
The cursor DOES NOT appear in any text boxes on any other pages I open >> The Weather Channel, TED.com, Amazon.com
The Spacebar scrolls the screen down one frame at a time.
It has the same behavior with the "Always use the cursor keys to navigate within pages
I am using FF 18.0.1 on Windows XP
I have tried a lot of the weird tips and tricks suggested on this support forum, but none of them address specifically this issue.

Once logged in the main body has focus and not a specific element, so you have to click in an input filed to set focus to it.
If it worked before then they have changed the code of that page recently and it is just a coincidence that it happened around the time that Firefox updated. -
When I down load a file the down loads window opens but no files are listed there. (This also happens under Thunderbird). I have updated both T'bird and Firefox in the last couple of weeks. The download window was working ok , say, about 3 weeks ago. About then I cleared an existing lsit of files. Since then, nothing is shown even tho I have downloaded a few files.

I have finally figured this out.
The VMM service runs under the Local System account, I changed it to use the domain account I logged in with. I also had to change the SQL service account to use the same domain account the VMM service runs under.
Prior to performing the above actions, I modified the certificate in MMC > Certificates to not use the Smart Card option from the users profile. Shown below. To make this modification. Follow these steps.
1. Open MMC
2. Open > File > Add/Remove Snap-ins
3. Select Certificates, and click Add (ensure Current – User is selected)
4. Click OK
5. Navigate to > Personal > Certificates
6. Double click on the user Cert
7. Select the Details Tab, > click the Edit Properties
8. Select “Enable only the following purposes
9. Uncheck Smart Card Logon
After the above actions was performed, I then modified the service account the VMM and SQL service was using to use a domain account, and things started working.

Reset your iPad. Press and hold both the power and home buttons for 10-15 seconds till the Apple logo appears. Release both buttons. Wait 15-20 seconds till you iPad starts on it's own. Now try and download an app.
