My dreamweaver CS5.5 stopped working on windows8.

Every time i try to open dreamweaver it tries to load but then throws an error:  XML parsing fatal error.....is there a way to reinstall this on my machine?

Hi flemingagogo,
For Windows 8, Dreamweaver CC and CS6 are the supported and tested versions.
For more details, you can have a look at system requirements

  • Photoshop CS5 has stopped working and shuts down

I purchased Photoshop CS5 in March 2011 and after trying to install software I was unable to do anything in Photoshop without getting the following error message:  "Adobe Photoshop CS5 has stopped working".  A problem caused the program to stop working correctly.  Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.  I was unable to open any psd file or new file withouth that error message.  After you close that error message window, Photoshop immediately closes down. I had someone from Adobe remotely fix this problem.  Now it is appearing again and I am unable to use the program.  I need help with this.  Please.

  • Adobe Photoshop CS5 has stopped working (Win 7, 64 bit)

I am trying to run Photoshop CS5 on Windows 7 64bit. Everytime I open the program, I get an error saying "Adobe Photoshop CS5 has stopped working", immediately after the splash screen goes away and the main gui opens. The only option on the error is "Close Program".
I am on a computer with an i7 processor and 12GB of memory. I have two Nvidia GTS 250 video cards, running four monitors.
Over the course of the last day, I have reformatted my computer, and reinstalled Windows twice. I have reinstalled the CS5 Master Suite more times than I can remember. I have also downloaded and installed the latest video card drivers from Nvidia.
I continue to have the same problem every time I try to open any of the programs in the CS5 suite.
The only time I have come close to getting it to work was immediately after installing the new Nvidia drivers, before restarting my computer. I was able to open it one time without it crashing, Once I restarted my computer, Photoshop continued to give me the same error every time I try to open it.
I have no other software installed on my computer. It is a brand new installation of Windows 7.
I have been on the phone with Adobe technical suuport for about an hour and a half, and I have yet to get a single suggestion other than attempting an install with my network cable unplugged. Other than that, they seem to be fond of transfering me back and forth between departments (and asking me to repeat all of my information every time).
As you can probably tell, I am very frustrated at this point and would greatly appreciate any suggestions.
    Thanks,
    Trevor

    My scenario and history:
Windows Vista Ultimate and now Windows 7 Ultimate
NVidia Quadro Fx 4500 driving 4 monitors total SLi on or off - makes no difference.  Drivers irrelevant.
    2 x Xeon 5160 (so total 4 cores)
    24Gb RAM
    PS CS 4 or 5
4 monitors - - yep it is the 4 monitor thing.
    Fails everytime as you describe.
Observation - If you Remote Desktop Connection onto the computer - and so in effect are using only ONE monitor - PS works fine.
A WORKAROUND for 4 or 5 - I don't consider this a fix because you lose some functionality but it gets you 99% there and is the same workaround for CS4 or 5
    Go to<drive>:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS5 (64bit)\Plug-ins\Extensions\    (or CS4 - depending on version)
    Locate File:
    ScriptingSupport.8li
Disable this extension by renaming the file with a tilde in front of the file name.  Thus:
    ~ScriptingSupport.8li
Start Photoshop - it works and is mainly functional.
The only real downside I have discovered is that disabling this scripting extension means you cannot use some of the built in scripts under FILE - SCRIPTS - the biggest PIA for me being the Contact Sheet builder no longer works.  But as I now use Lightroom to create contact sheets - this is not a big loss.  Other scripting functionality - I am sure is affected - but not to a point I find PS unusable.
ADOBE - if you read this - it has been that extesion now for the last two editions of PS.

  • Adobe Photoshop CS5 has stopped working [Issue]

Hello everyone! I recently just purchased Adobe CS5 as being very excited as I've been a customer before the CS series! Anyways, the install and registration with Adobe was no problem what so ever, I got to uninstall CS4 quite easily, it all worked. So, I've read the other topic of "Adobe Photoshop CS5 has stopped working" and this is not my problem! However, once I'm in CS5. I do a couple things, zoom in Navigation, enter some text, move a couple layers and it tells me it has stopped working. This is happening very often every so 1-3 minutes, so I've been living with it for about 2 days (IT has FINALLY passed the line, where I rip my hair out! Hehe, ). So now I'm deciding I post the problem!
    Computer Specs:
    Windows 7 Ultimate x86
Intel Pentium Dual Core 3.20GHz (OC)
    ATi Radeon HD 4670
    3GB DDR2

After work.. I will be upgrading video card drivers to see if this makes a difference, only solution related to my topic in Adobe FAQs.

  • Adobe Photoshop CS5 has stopped working

I have Windows 7 I just installed Adobe photoshop CS5 Extended. It starts fine but when I start to open a picture I get the message
Adobe Photoshop CS5 has stopped working windows will shut it down.
Any ideas of what the problem is.

Mylenium, why do you feel there is a need to run the first time as Administrator?  Do you know of install failures that would leave files or registry entries with improper permissions?  I've not been hearing of this behavior with the new versions; certainly Photoshop has known about Windows' UAC feature for quite a long time.
Rjleys, I suggest that you try (before opening an image) going into Edit - Preferences - Performance and disabling the [ ] Use OpenGL Drawing setting.   Close and restart Photoshop after making this change.
If this works around the problem, you should update your video drivers from the web site of the manufacturer of your video card.  It may be that the OpenGL operations Photoshop is trying to perform may be causing a fault in your drivers, resulting in an applilcation crash.
What kind of video card do you have?
Here are the links to the driver update pages for the two big video card makers:

  • Need advice - "Adobe photoshop CS5 has stopped working" upon startup

    Hi All,
Hopefully someone can assist me with this as this seems to be a fairly common problem.
Basically, upon starting up PS it comes up with the error message:
"Adobe Photoshop CS5 has stopped working..."
I'm just working off a surface pro 2 with 256gb ram, i5 processor (I think)
I’ve installed no new drivers of late and not undertaken any system changes that I can think of that would affect the program.
Funnily enough it’s the same problem across all the adobe suite e.g. illustrator and indesign both won’t start up (illustrator has the same message whereas indesign’s error message mentions that it requires a certain amount of free disk space).
Hopefully that is enough info. Please ask if there is anything else that you would need to know in order to ascertain the problem.
For reference here is the excerpt from the windows error log:

Fingers crossed someone can help as I’m at the end of my wits here (my laptop died recently leaving me my tablet to finish some artwork for a deadline and now PS etc won’t work leaving me with nothing!).

  • Photoshop CS5 has stopped working while I draw.

So I have Photoshop CS5 extended and Im using windows 7 ultimate 64 bit.
    I have a Nvidia Geforce GTX 260m 1gb video card. A Asus G60Vx laptop. 4gb of ram.
So heres the story. When Im drawing on a picture it could be from 5 to 45 minutes of drawing photoshop will all of the sudden crash with the error saying "Adobe photoshop cs5 has stopped working" and i have to close the program losing all of the progress in my drawing.
I have called and talked to 3 different Adobe Reps that I can hardly understand... and have done ALL of the suggestions they have given to. From dragging the settings folder to the desktop from dragging the plugins folder to the desktop to reinstalling the program which i have done twice. Also *I use no 3rd party plugins ONLY A WACOM PEN AND TOUCH TABLET** Regarding the Tablet I have called Wacom and they have no clue of how to fix this issue either I have reinstalled it and updated the latest driver for it. Still nothing. Im am getting very upset I NEED* this for my college class... and NO ONE can help me. Everyone I talk to acts like they have no clue what to do they are just giving me steps that i follow that lead me to nothing. just the same problem. Please someone help me through this. I had been using this program and tablet FINE for like 2 or 3 months and just last week it starting doing this.

    function(){return A.apply(null,[this].concat($A(arguments)))}

I would also definitely clean out my drive using CCleaner and run a defragmentation. Could well be that too much fragmentation is preventing PS from expanding its temporary files beyond a certain point and then it goes belly up....
Windows 7 keeps its drives defragged all by itself and it will tell you about drives getting full.
A better approach would be to scout around in the Windows System Event Log and see if it's logging any failures.

  • What would cause CS5 to stop working whenever I select Photomerge ?

Does any one know why CS5 would stop working everytime I select Photomerge ?

Further interest. If I disable the Radeon Driver and open PS Photomerge works - so the graphics card - or driver - is immediately suspect. However if I thhen close PS and enable the graphics driver then reopen PS - Photomerge still works !!
BUT next time I open PS, it crashes as soon as I open an image - then when I reopen it, it works OK but crashes when I launch Photomerge.
I seriously think it is something weird going on between the computer and the viedo card that somehow PS is involved in.  I guess I'll just leave the question here until some genius pops up with the answer.
In the meantime, I'll just disable the graphics card whenever I want to do a photomerge - whoch is frequently at the moment because I'm playing with focus stacking

  • InDesign CS5 has stopped working

I have InDesign CS5 (creative suite premium, ME version) on Windows 7, everything was working well when InDesign stopped working. I can't open the program or any InDesign files. I get this error message:
"adobe InDesign CS5 has stopped working, a problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available".
i have tried re-installing the program and it doesn't help.
does anyone know of a solution - i'm desparately working against a deadline.
    thanks

    No doubt.
I'm not sure what else to try, except do it again. Make sure before installing again that you are logged in as an administrator and that User Access Control is turned off. I'd also run the configuration utility and turn off any non-essential startup programs an services, especially anti-virus, anti-malware, browserhelpers and toolbars, messengers, iTunes, and third-party firewall.

  • Dreamweaver CS6 "has stopped working" when closing

Hey, I recently upgraded to Windows 8 x64 and have had an annoying issue with Adobe Products. When I was using 7 x64 I never had any issues really, loved that OS.

  • Soundbooth CS5 has stopped working

I have CS5 Master Collection and Windows 7.
Most of the program are working but Soundbooth and Photoshop 32bit is giving me problem.
Upon initialization of Adobe Soundbooth I see the splash screen as it loads it's components then all of a sudden I get an error message that "Adobe Soundbooth CS5 has stopped working", A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."
I try reinstalling the soundbooth component but no success, did anyone come across this problem and know how to fix it.

I am experiencing the same problem with SoundBooth and the SFC.EXE program didn't help resolve it.  Soundbooth continues to crash each time it is started.  All other Adobe products function fine.  I regularly use Photoshop, Flash, Bridge, and Acrobat without any problems.
Identifying the nature of the problem with this type of error message is elusive. The following may help to identify the problem:
Create a new user account on the computer - set it as administrator.
Log in to the new user account.
Start SoundBooth and wait for the error message.  This is the very first time Soundbooth is run and it must be the very first time the error message is displayed.  This first error message is unique as it contains the specific information regarding why the error occurred.  All subsequent error messages just provide a generic message.  In this first error message, the details section must be expanded to show information about the error.
For me, SoundBooth starts, the splash screen appears, and when SoundBooth attempts to load MCmpgACodec.vca, SoundBooth stops working.
Perhaps the original post is experiencing problems with a corrupt codec file.
In order to correct the problem SoundBooth was uninstalled and then reinstalled:
Control Panel > programs and features > Adobe Creative Suite 5 Master Collection > uninstall
The SoundBooth folder was deleted from c:\program files (x86)\adobe\
Soundbooth was reinstalled using the Adobe discs (when reinstalling make sure to only install SoundBooth and not the entire suite)

  • I upgrades my mac operating system to OSX 10.9.4 and now my Dreamweaver CS5 won't work, it just quits unexpectedly.  please help.

I upgrades my mac operating system to OSX 10.9.4 and now my Dreamweaver CS5 won't work, it just quits unexpectedly.  Please help.

    Remove preferences on Mac OS
    Quit Dreamweaver.
In the Finder, navigate to /Users/Your User Name/Library/Application Support/Adobe.
    Rename the Dreamweaver preferences folder:
Dreamweaver CS5: Rename the Dreamweaver CS5 folder to, for example, Old Dreamweaver CS5.
    Navigate to /Users/Your User Name/Library/Preferences.
    Rename the Dreamweaver preferences file:
Dreamweaver CS5: Rename the Adobe Dreamweaver CS5 Prefs file to, for example, Old Adobe Dreamweaver CS5 Prefs.
    Try to re-create problem
After you have removed your existing preferences, restart Dreamweaver. The application creates new preferences files, folders, and registry entries, as applicable, using the default settings.
Then try to re-create the problem that you had before.
If the problem was resolved, then damaged preferences was the cause.
If the problem persists, then the preferences are not the cause and you can replace the original preferences.
    To replace the original preferences:
    Quit dreamweaver.
Delete the new preferences folder and restore the original name of the previous folder.

  • Can't open a dng or raw file in cs5, just stops working. So many problems in cs5!

I totally feel for you. Just upgraded from cs4 to cs5 and it was the  biggest mistake i ever made. It will probably end my livelihood as a  photographer since EVERY time i open a raw file it crashes photoshop,  makes it freeze up after i have adjuted the file in camera raw then I  hit open; i get a few bars then it just stops working.
Even got  tech help, which helped when i was on the phone with them. The next day  the problem came back even when I danced the same jig that I did when I  had the guy on the phone - he had me move a raw file on to the desktop  rather than take open from my hard drive, then I was able to open it, so  we came to the conclusion that my drive was corrupt. I had the same  information backed up on a brand new hard drive so we compared files  from the each drive against the other. The files from the new drive  opened successfully. Yesterday. Now Photoshop cs5 doesn't open any raw  or dng files at all from anywhere so it can only be a problem with  photoshop. We thought we had the problem solved but we did not. This  never happened on CS4 unless i was trying to open 30 or more raw files,  and even then it gave me a warning that it had no more ram, it didn't  just lock up and do nothing. I'm at my wit's end. Even though there are a  lot of great new things in cs5, they aren't very useful if you can't  use the product to do the simplest thing.

    1) Install the Photoshop 12.0.1 update
    2) Install the latest ACR update.
If problems continue after that, then there probably is something wrong with your system.
