My Droid Razr Max at times when making a call will conect but drops audio both sides?
When making calls it will connect but you can hear the other party and neither can they hear me. I was advised to do a hard reset but this did not solve th eissue. I was issued a new phone and now it is doing the same thing. The only thing that helps is to turn it off and then on again. Any suggestions?
Try another Sim Card handle it by it's Edges as you don't want to Touch the Gold Area of it because of Static Electricity and the Oils in our Fingers can Harm it and cause the Phone to not Operate Correctly) When you install the Card Make sure you Fully seat it in just like a SD card as it Has a Spring Mechanism that pulls the Card in the Phone.. Try those things and make sure the PRL is up to Date) Call customer service 1-800-922-0204 option 3 Tech services and have them check this for you if you need it they will push it to your Maxx the Card does this Automatically no Need for *228.. I ordered a Droid Razr Max today and it should be in a couple days. The last five years i have had BlackBerry's in fact BlackBerry's are the only smart phones that i have had so i hope i haven't screwed up. I played with the Droid 4 and the Max in the store and i like the key board on the Droid 4 but chose the Razr Max for the battery life.
Got a Maxx it Doing very well in the battery Dept. mine lasted 2ds 12s 34min. on the charge i done on Sat. an this last one Lasted slightly under that but i was streaming Win-amp an done so for 15 hours straight. The only thing that i am having to get use to is the higher in Treble speaker it at times wants to pop an i think it's do to that. But with downloading the EQ app an turning down the treble it has helped allot an Maxx sounds Dam Good when hooked up with a pair of Ear buds. What i would like to get to listen to my music is the new Bose speaker that Verizon has in the Accessories Area of the sight Check it out. An the Display on her to me is the bomb to some they can the squares or what ever they're calling it from the PenTile display. O well to me it still great an i don't stare at all day as critics must Do. An it is fast when it in the 4G Area Wi-Fi is just as fast an 3G comes up last.
To the Op just a Friendly reminder when you get your Maxx an your ready to take out the Sim do it very Carefully an do not Touch the Gold Area of it as it is very sensitive to Static Electricity An can render it Useless. When i removed mine from it's holder i used a X-acto Knife with a No.11 Blade an i cut were the Tabs are. Don't cut on the Sim itself an it doesn't take much pressure to cut thru them. Then when holding the Sim do it by it's Edges. An when inserting it into the phone with the phone face up hold the little door down an insert the Sim Gold side ^ Up ^ push it in Gently it will stick out just a bit. To push it in all the way to were it catches in the Maxx i used a Wood Tooth pick cut to were it was blunt. Using a tooth pick for me was easier than using my finger to get it to catch in the Holder in the Maxx. Have fun when you Get it... Got any Questions just ask i 'll try to help as much as i can. Just activated new Iphone 4 and the mike does not work when making a call. it does work with speaker phone and face time. Any known fixes?
My wife's iphone 4 also has your same no ring problem as does my iphone 5 just less often. I called her iphone 4 at home from where I work 20 miles away on my iphone 5. With her phone in 3G mode ONE call went through and 9 went to voice mail in 10 tries. This is a 10% sucess rate!! I also could listen in real time from the wired work phone and the wired home phone. She turned off 3G mode and it went to "O" mode at the top left of the screen after the ATT. In this mode it rang on the first ring tone 5 times out of 5 tries which is 100% of the time. I have learned that the calling party will hear up to 4 ring tones when placing a call on the ATT network. If the ring tone changes volume slightly before the 4th ring then and only then will the cell phone start to ring. If the ring tone does not change after the 4th ring you get voice mail. If the calling party does not leave a voice message there is never a missed call displayed on the iphone. If the calling party does leave a voice message a few minutes later the iphone dings for arriving voice mail but still no missed call indication.
This appears to be related to the time of day and the ATT tower that the receiving caller is using. Tried other towers and it works in 3G mode 10 times out of 10 tries. Apple replaced the first iphone 4 with a new phone, no improvement. ATT replaced the SIM card and no improvement. ATT so far is clue less. This has been going on every since we got the new iphones which is 4 months. The ATT web site also describes this same problem from several years ago. Has anyone got better information?

When making a call, sometimes, my iPhone 5 , gets stuck on 'Calling' than I have to press END..but still nothing happens, than when I press HOME button, the call app keeps running in the background and it keeps saying CALLING... than I have to wait 2 - 3 minutes and call again.
please helpHas nothing to do with the SIM or master reset. This has been done to my phone. The SIM once and the factory reset many times over. You all just sold us a bad piece of equipment and have us by the tail with our contracts so none of us can get a new phone without paying full price or re-upping our contract. I just got off the phone last night with your high up tech people (you know, the hidden number we get once we tear into your support people enough), they went into my phone again and still didn't find anything wrong. I about got fired from my job for not getting my calls and texts. The BBB has now been contacted, and I feel your end should shore this up for all of us!

Iphine4 crackling when making a call
My Iphone 4 started crackling when making a call, all the posts seem to suggest it was caused by water damage and said I should dump my phone and get a new one. As a last resort I took it to a small repair shim in Montrose Scotlanc and the tech replaced the earpiece cost £20:00 it now works fine and saved me loads
Hello LA1, first off since iphone is a Cellular Phone there is no dial tone, as far as no sound though the earpiece on your iphone, try pluging/unpluging the headset from the jack on top of the iphone a few times, that usually clears up that problem.

Skype is crashing on Intel graphics driver. The error message indicates that the issue is with "Switching Graphics" (NVIDIA <-> Intel). There are no driver updates available for Windows 8.1 for your laptop on the Dell site. It sounds like you are still hearing the phone line ringing even after the person you call answers the line. I would try the troubleshooting outlined in this article:

Toggle airplane mode: Tap Settings > Enable Airplane Mode, wait five seconds, then turn off airplane mode.
Ensure that your software is up to date:
Check for a carrier settings update.
Check for an iOS software update.

If the iPhone has a SIM card, reseat the SIM card.
If the iPhone 4 or iPhone 4s is on the Verizon network, dial *228 from the iPhone and select option 2 to update the Preferred Roaming List (PRL). The PRL determines the cellular towers the phone uses for cellular service, selecting those with the best signal strength.
Reset the network settings: Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
Try to make or receive calls in another location.

If you're having the issue on 3G/4G, disable 3G/4G, if possible, and try again.
Contact the carrier to check the following:
Your account is properly configured to use the specific iPhone that has the issue.

Hi I use my phone for conference calls and use the microphone jack to connect to speakers. It doesnt work when making phone calls but when i play music on the phone the jack works with the external speaker.

I would suggest a iPhone restore and fresh load from Backup... but it is no guarantee.

Siri used to work fine when making mobile calls in Ecuador until yesterday, when the administration of Ecuador added an aditional number in all mobile numbers existing in Ecuador. Since then Siri is unable to make any mobile calls with any new number.Help
I`ve tried restarting, rebooting, nothing works.
The interesting thing is that SIRI can call to previous mobile numbers (without the new digit) obviously not connecting , and, can call to any other numbers as an office or home number. So the problem is the new digit in the mobile numberEcuador has added an extra digit to mobile phone numbers but apple wont accept 10 digit phone numbers so we cant use facetime or apple IM or verify our new phone numbers. ( and Siri won't work either!) I have contacted apple support online but can't request a call back as the apple system says our new phone numbers are invalid. I am going to phone them tomorrow and you should complain too at http://www.apple.com/support/contact/. . The more people that bring this to their attention the faster it will get fixed

Just downloaded FACETIME on my 4yr. olf Imac running Snow Leopard. When making a call to my friend's Imac all works correctly going both ways. When my wife calls me via Facetime from her Ipad, I cannot click on "accept"- not there? When called by the Imac (newest), the "accept" or "reject" radio button appears for me to click and connect. On my wife's Ipad the two radio buttons always appear when a call actiivates Facetime and comes on?
There is nothing I can find in "Preferences" in Facetime to turn that on or off. I suspect it has to do with having a more current operating system; that the "controls" are in the operating system? [I'm guessing] It's frustrating getting Facebook calls from several friends on Ipads! Any ideas...VFPI suspect it has to do with not having a more current operating system
Exactly, what Apple is doing is leveraging new features only on newer OS X versions to force you to upgrade OS X to 10.7 or later.
What they don't tell you is 10.7 or later will NOT run your PowerPC based software, some of it you can't get Intel versions like for perfectly working printers, scanners and games etc. So it can be a very expensive OS X upgrade to 10.7 or later with third party software.

Also they don't tell you is the risk in bricking your machine if the update goes badly, so you have to have AppleCare in case that occurs so it's on them to fix it. Else your paying money to replace the logicboard or buying a new machine prematurely.
A four year old machine can't have AppleCare, it's only good for 3 years from date of purchase new.
Your machine came with a boot hard drive, it's usually got about 4-5 years of life on it, then it needs to be replaced.
Also they don't tell you the newer OS X version has more abilities and features that causes your machine to slow down in performance, especially on older machines.
Also they implement new, idotic and extremely fustrating new user interface features in a arbitrary "you take it or leave it" manner with little or no fall back method.
So upgrading OS X is a gamble on older machines that otherwise would likely work perfectly fine for the next 5 years if one didn't need to have to mess with it.
Since Snow Leopard has slightly over 25% OS X version market share, your still good for security updates etc for the next few years if you just want to stay where your at and be happy.
OS X 10.4/10.5 need to upgrade, 10.6.8 ok still
The Lions are, well, not so welcome due to Scott Forstall retard UI issues, OS X Mavericks 10.9 is likely going to fix things a bit better.
But basically what is occuring is Apple is trying to force a faster hardware upgrade cycle with the more expensive products by leveraging features on the smaller devices that expire sooner.
Apple is a hardware company that leverages whatever it can to get you to buy more hardware, it's why they are as rich as they are. -
i phone 3 shuts down after 3 to 4 mins when making a call - then large apple sign apeers phone frozen - only way to unlock is to re charge although there is enough battery - any answers would be welcome.

I'm having exactly the same issue with my iphone, and same specs. It's a new work phone so discussed with IT manager. She advised returning it so it could be sent back for repair. Would be interested if you have heard of any other fixes as not keen to be without the phone, although that needs to weighed against the fact it randomly shuts down when a call comes in!
