  • My dvd drive wont read (or even accept the existense of cds) much less burn them. HEEELLLLPPP

    my dvd drive wont do alot of the things it is supposed to like burn cds, or even recognize them, also when I went to my profiler it says the drive doesnt exist. as far as I know the model is an  MATSHITA DVD R UJ 875. my computer will still read dvds, but if there is a cd inserted, then it makes some aggrivating noises and then spits it out, I know little to nothing about SERIOUS computer work, like firmware patches, or bridges or whatever the terms are. When I try to burn anything, it cycles almost burns, but then, like clockwork. the error messafe pops up that  there is an un expected error. I am at my witts end here is there any thing I can do to fix this problem, without spending money I really dont have right now? (I am going to school and it starts this thursdaty) or should I just get my SKS out and fix the problem with a Full metal jacket?  someone help. if need be my email is [email protected] Please help me if you can.

  • DVD burner wont burn...keep getting error's. please help me

    So here's the situation, ever since i downloaded Audio Highjack Pro i've not been able to burn dvd's or cd's...it starts to burn and gets to about 2.3% or somewhere around there and it gives me this error....
    "Burning the disc failed because communication to the disc drive failed. (Error code 0x80020022)"
    This is the model of my dvd burner "HL-DT-ST DVDRW GWA4080MA" i dont know if that helps
    I bought the computer just over a year ago and havent had any problems until this.
    Does anyone know how to fix my problem??
    Please help me. I'm a Productions manager for an extreme sports Tv show up here in Lake tahoe and i need my Dvd burner to work so i can use it in my daily work. thanks alot

    if you want to use the same font but different size/color etc, just create a different textformat instance or you could re-use the one you already defined:
    var font3:Font=new Font3();
    var dtFormat:TexFormat=new TextFormat();
    var dtText2:TextField=new TextField();
    dtFormat.font=font3.fontName;
    dtFormat.size=15;
    dtText2.autoSize=TextFieldAutoSize.CENTER;
    dtText2.defaultTextFormat=dtFormat;
    dtText2.embedFonts=true;
    var dtfFormat3:TextFormat=new TextFormat();
    var dtText3:TextField=new TextField();
    dtFormat3.font=font3.fontName;
    dtFormat3.size=22;
    dtFormat3.color=0xaa0000;
    dtText3.autoSize=whatever
    dtfText3.defaultTextFormat=dtFormat3;
    dtText3.embedFonts=true;
    it only gets tricky when you want bold or italic or bold and italic fonts embedded.  those are different fonts and those need to be embedded seperately.

  • Dvd r wont read in my computer

    Has anyone else had a problem with a DVD+R not reading in the DVD drive on the Mac?

    In your System Profiler under "More Info">Disk burning, it should list the compatible DVD formats.

  • One of Three DVDs burned not read by XP,

    I backed-up/burned three DVD 4.7GB, 16x DVDs via Itunes on my Macbook Pro (using the MAC OS).
    I then I put them in my other XP machine and it read the first DVD without problem.
    The second, it saw only a blank DVD with the d:\ directory.
    However, I verified that there is readable content on my MAC and there is no problem.
    Any ideas??

    In MAC format. However, the DVDs burned by the superdrive should be ISO dual read for both windows/mac. The first DVD read fine. I am wondering if it is caused by the inability of the older windows xp laptop to deal with a 'full' DVD.
    I reckon that it might be easier to just boot into XP, attach an external HDD and transfer to the other laptop that way.
    More expense to buy the external HDD however.

  • Windows server 2012 R2 does not recognize DVD burner as read/write device

    I've seen problem fixes for this on Windows 7 but nothing on 2012 R2.
    I changed the drive letter on the server (2012 R2 with all current updates) and now it does not recognize the working DVD burner as a read/write device.
    The device does work correctly with other Operating Systems on the same hardware.  The box is a Lenovo D30.
    Any idea as to how to go about this fix.  All Microsoft troubleshooter downloads run and say the problem was corrected but no luck in burning anything.

  • Dvd drive wont read discs; want to use a .dmg to play Prey

    My dvd drive is shot, just like everyone else in this freakin forum. The tricky part is im in afghanistan, yay.. so i cant call apple and get it replaced, so i want to use a .dmg that i made from a friends macbook to play the game Prey cause i can't use the disc, but when i mount it and click on the application it says insert the disc or press quit. what am i doing wrong?

    It doesn't sound like you're doing anything wrong. Many games require that you have the DVD inserted to play. This prevents someone from making copies (or images) and using them on other machines (pretty much exactly what you're trying to do). While you have a legit issue, far more often, people would make copies for their friends to use without them purchasing the game. It is becoming more common for companies to use other types of DRM which do not require the original media to be used... but many of these options end up in up-roars from consumers as well. If you do in-fact own the game, there are options for removing the requirement that the CD/DVD be inserted in order to play. You can do a search using whatever search engine is available to you to get some options.

  • DVD-burner suddently GONE in /dev

    I rarely use my DVD-burner to read or write anything at all, but this other day I discovered it wasn't even listed in /dev .. Usually it's detected as /dev/sr0 .. That's why I can't figure out if this is a problem after updating to 2.6.25 ..
    dmesg: http://rafb.net/p/kbcxeq17.html
    As you can see in dmesg, it is detected:
    LINE 369 - ata9.01: ATAPI: LITE-ON DVDRW SHM-165P6S, MS0R, max UDMA/66
    LINE 382 - scsi 8:0:1:0: CD-ROM            LITE-ON  DVDRW SHM-165P6S MS0R PQ: 0 ANSI: 5
    But just not listed in /dev ..
    Can anyone help me out please? I have a hard time right now with the exams and I really need this to work ..

  • Multisession data DVD burned on windows don't show the folders on Mac.

    Hi,
    I think that is a well discussed thread but I weren't able to find anything at this concern on google and this forum.
    I've burned a multisession data DVD on Nero (windows XP). That DVD already have files burned and is multisession. After burn it, the folder that I'd copied on PC don't show up on Mac. Is there a way to burn that files on windows that can be recognised on a Mac? Is this a question of burn format? The parameters of copy on Nero was keep as default.
    Thanks in advance.

    It seems like Mac OS X doesn't support multisession-burnt DVDs, no matter how you put them together. In the best case, you'll only be able to see the first session. Finalizing DVDs has no impact on Mac OS X ability to read them completely.
    I learnt it the hard way when switching from Ubuntu to Mac OS X, while on the first, Nero-burnt DVDs would read flawlessly, finalized or not. I ended up being forced to burn back around 120 DVDs in one session in Nero.
    So far, Apple doesn't seem to have any plan in supporting multisession DVD burning and reading in OS X. As they have a tendancy to ditch obsolete technology sooner than others, I wouldn't hold my breath on it. On a personal level, this lack of support has made my hard drive space needs skyrocket, as I'm no longer able to incrementally burn DVDs, as I always did in Windows and Ubuntu.
    Hope that helps.

  • How can I write dual DVDs with my UJ 820S DVD burner?

    hello i own a satellite notebook, and my problem is that it cannot write at dual dvds, i believe that i have to upgrade the firmware but i cant find anything, recently i had the same problem with my desktop pc and solve it when i upgrade the firmware from its own nec dvd burner, anybody knows where i can find a firmware update, or something else to solve my problem?

    Hi Chris
    The CD and DVD burning and reading with different drives is a never ending story.
    I use an external burner and believe me; I have tested more than 10 different medias from different manufactures.
    I could burn some medias but not read and read but not burn :(
    I think you should also test different DVDs.
    In my user manual I have found a list with compatible CD and DVD. Possibly you will also find the same supported media list in you preinstalled user manual.

  • My G4 imac wont read a dvd burned on my new mac mini

    I burned some pictures on a dvd on my mac mini and when I went to load them on my imac the disc wont show up??? The drive is working as it reads dvds burned on the imac, just not the ones burned on the new mac mini............any ideas? Thanks

    You can only use the App Store version to reinstall on your new Mac if you bought Logic via the App Store in the first place.... and then it will appear under the Purchases tab in the Mac App Store App so long as you are signed in using the same Apple ID you used to purchase Logic via the App store in the first place.
    If you bought the DVD edition of Logic Studio then you must initially install using those original DVDs to begin with and then update to the latest version of your version of Logic via software updates.
    No DVD drive? Buy an external one.. Amazon do a very cheap basic one that works well..
    or...
    Use Remote Disk if you still have your older Mac which has a built in DVD drive...
