My e-mail automatically deletes read e-mail in my inbox every 14 days without my permission. How do I get this to stop?
I switched e-mail clients from windows live to thunderbird in mid december to alleviate problems in sending group e-mail. I have thunderbird on a different laptop and the product works flawlessly. The client works flawlessly with one exception: It automatically deletes any read e-mail in my inbox every 14 days without any input from me. I have had ITOK & Hughes.net look at the problem as I am using my inbox as a staging area for for pending business that tracks progress of different events. I have checked settings and there are no evident features that I can switch on or off with that time frame. This has occurred 3 times since December and I have resorted to printing e-mails to prevent loss of data.
The desktop uses windows 7, IMAP for incoming mail...
Log into your account at the providers web mail page and look for any retention options that might be there. Do not put too much into what their help desk tells you. Most help desk agents are lucky to know that the ringing sound means to answer the phone.

Right click on a template and choose Get Info. Find the "Open with" section, and change it to Word. Click Change All if you want all templates to be opened in Word by default.

I was deleting emails on my iPad to trash , when 1364 past emails which had been sent to trash and was deleted was back in my inbox. I can't get this to stop. When I try to delete some emails it just adds more. Could someone tell me what has happened and how do I fix this problem?
"Other" represents data that iTunes can't recognize. A few hundred mb of other is normal. The 6.9 gb you have represents corrupted data (maybe from an interrupted sync or some other glitch).

I have a new iPad mini. My Bellsouth/Yahoo mail account deletes mail from the server. There is no setting under Advanced to change delete from server. this is not a problem on my iPhone or MAC, only the iPad. It is also not a problem with my other mail accounts.
Because Airplaying to a Mac natively is not supported.

These message yoy are receiving are probably just a particular type of spam. However it is also possible (unlikely) that your email account is being used to send spam, and that these are the bounce messages.
To tell the difference, you need to look at the email headers. Open the message, then go to the View menu and select Message -> All Headers.
Select the text and post it back here (remembering to obscure your own email address first).

My iPhone4 has been re-fetching emails which I had previously deleted, causing me to have to delete them again, at which point another 200 old messages show up. This is eating into my data allowance.
You can either go to your webmail site and delete the old emails off the server so they can't be re-fetched, or assuming this is a POP account, change your settings for deleting email off the incoming server when you retreive your email (which will also make them unavailable for retreival from other devices such as your computer).

A couple of things to check:
Go to settings, general, use side switch. Is it set for rotation lock or mute? If mute, slide the side switch the other direction.
Double tap the home button, slide the task tray to the right, check the volume level there and the rotation lock icon on the left. -
I dont want Itunes to load automatically or to access the internet without asking first. I have tried several times to restrict permissions in the firewall and when I restart the computer itunes has undone by block. What can I do

One resolution to your issue would be to update your iPhone using iTunes on your computer rather than over the air. This requires much less space on the iPhone as most of the work is done by the computer. See this article for how to do it -

it is not going to my address book because a lot of these people are not in there. it is going to people that i emailed from years ago....and it IS connected to either my me.com email or a cox.net email - these are both connected. i'll try the password change on both of these mail accounts and see if that works. a lot of these people are getting three and four emails every day.... -

The idea to jumpstart by change was not the smartest one, but gives you an opportunity to use that "temporary" account as permanent. You do not have a choice cause obviously despite you thinking that old account is no more -it does exist on Apple servers. And if you are unwilling to share your [email protected] with friend, just create one extra [email protected] for your friend. One suggestion - do not use gmail.

It should be an attachment. Your Mac just displays a preview of certain attachments (such as .pdfs) in the body of the message. A PC, for example, will see it as an attached file rather than a preview.
You can save the attachment on your Mac by Control-clicking on it and selecting Save Attachment. -
I have Yahoo mail provider but just lost my folders in Mac Mail program. The folders were not "On my Mac" but on "Yahoo". How do I get them back again? I have reinstalled MacMail as everything had disappeared. The new install has given me everything except the Yahoo folders. When I looked one of the folders had reappeared, but now it has gone again. I am using Yosemite.

There seems to be no basic problem with mails going between Macmail and Yahoo. It is just the folders that have disappeared, while MacMail was out of action. I don't think those particular folders were ever on the Yahoo mail that I access through BT, they were just on the MacMail under "Yahoo" as opposed to "On my Mac". I am worried in case I lose what I already have if I press "Restore" from my back up. As you can see, I am not exactly good at this!
