My effects folder is blank? Help!

For some reason all content has disappeared as has my favourites. Does this have any thing to do with downloading Creative Cloud? Although I was working on Elements after this.

I have PSE 11 and on a MacPro but after tearing my hair out I think I have done it! I have uninstalled and then reinstalled. All the standard actions were there except my purchased ones (which of course are the only ones I use). Then I had to go in and delete the media database.db3 file. Phew!
So it looks good except I now have to re-do my favourites but I can live with that.

Captivate 5.5 - Effects window is blank with no functionality, how do I get it back?

Captivate 5.5 project. When I select any image in this project to add an effect, the effect window will display but it is entirely blank. No functionality on the screen at all.
Tried to start a new project, same thing no effects? Existing project, same thing.

I suppose you already tried to change workspaces, there is an Effects Workspace but doubt that it will solve your problem?
Since you do not see anything in the panel, you cannot even browse to the Effects folder. First try to clear the cache of Captivate (Preferences, General settings).
Even this will not help I think, but worth trying.
Next step is to close Captivate, and delete the Preferences folder. This folder is in your profile, and that depends on the OS. It is labeled Captivate 5.5. On my Win7 laptop it is in this path:
\Users\<your profile name>\Appdata\Local\Adobe
You can safely delete the whole folder Captivate 5.5 there (beware: it is a system folder so you may have to tweak the Explorer settings because normally it is hidden). You will lose all customisations. When restarting Captivate a fresh folder with default settings will be created and there is a good chance that you get your Effects panel back.

Film Impact plugins are in the right folder but I'm not seeing them in my effects folder in PP?

I have properly installed "Film Impact (ver1) Plug ins into the right folder for Premier Pro, (Library/Application Support/Adobe/Common/Plug-ins/7.0/MediaCore) but I don't see them in my "effects" folder in Premier Pro. BTW, I'm using Premier Pro CC. Thank you in advanced for any help.

Mac OS X: Click the iTunes menu and choose Preferences.
Windows: Click the Edit menu and choose Preferences.
Click the Advanced pane. iTunes displays the location of your iTunes Media folder.
You can then:
Note where your media folder is, such as for backing up your media.
Use the Reset button to reset it's location to the default (which is the iTunes folder).
Click the Change button to select a folder for a new location. Once you change this location:
If you make a new or alternate iTunes library, the new location will be used by that library.
Existing files will not be moved unless you choose File > Library > Organize library and choose the option to "Consolidate files."

Just installed FCP 10.1.2 and my FCP sound effects folder is missing

I just downloaded and installed FCP X 10.1.2 and was noticing that under Music and Sound that my FCP sound effects folder is missing. Any suggestions as to how to get it on there. Thanks for any help.

Yes i went to additional content, it said everything up to date. I also did the quit FCP and then start Garage Band and quit it and restarted FCP still no FCP sound effects folder

I have been trying for over 2 weeks now trying to get my iTunes to open up so I can use my iTunes but I have not had any luck since I up graded to the new itunes. I have tried uninstalling (all apple programs) and reinstalling and nothing seems to work. Ah I see. That folder would only be there if you had perfomed the earlier steps in that section.

Yeah not a problem. It does seem though that if you did not have a Time Machine backup then you may not be able to recover the deleted folder :/ But for future reference to prevent any of this, a Time Machine backup is a great investment.
What it does is create an entire backup of your computer anything from personal information down to the screen saver.
What you first need is a new external hard drive (I would recommend a 1TB or higher just to prevent running out of space soon).
after that, just plug in the drive to your computer.
once it is plugged in, in the top right hand corner, close to the wi-fi symbol, you should see a symbol that looks like a clock with a backwards arrow around it.
click on that and select "open time machine preferences"
just turn the button to the "on" position, and select the backup drive and Time Machine does the rest

BORIS MISSING IN FCP5 - NOT IN EFFECTS FOLDER

I cannot find Boris in my effects folder nor in the text folder within the Effects folder.
Anybody know where it may be hiding?

You have two ways to access them:
1. In the Browser, click on the Effects tab and then open the Generators folder. The two Boris text plugins are Title 3d and Title Crawl.
2. In the lower right hand side of the Viewer window (video tab selected) you should see a little button that looks like a filmstrip frame with the letter A in it. Click that to reveal the Generators list. Look for the same two as above.
Or were you talking about other Boris plugins that you may have purchased?

The reason Safari "wiped" is unknown, but try reapplying the OS X 10.6.8 Combo update here:

Moving the entire music folder...help new MAC

says to do. So now I have two folders with ALL MY MUSIC in them (22 GB).
It gives directions on how to remove the old folder but being new to MAC i can't find the old folder.
Any help would be great. I have tried to locate it but I just get folders for every artists......

I'm new to mac so I'm looking for it as if I'm on that other thing (PC).
I go to finder them click on music and there is no folder that you mention just 300 other folders of all the artists I have on my computer. How do I find the folder that you mention?

For some reason my "effects folder" is not present in the browser.

You can drag the Effects folder tab into your browser, if it pops up independent of the browser.

The QT X v10.1 app installs in your "Applications folder and QT 7 v7.6.6 (whether keyed for "Pro" use or not) is installed in the "Applications/Utilities" folder. It is recommended you keep them in these locations so they will continue to update correctly/automatically.
