My Effects Pallete is totally empty HELP (Mac)

I just installed Photoshop Elements 6, and for some reason, there is nothing in my effects pallete, even when I click the tabs. I can't get to layer styles or anything. The files are on my computer and I have found them in Finder, but for some reason they are not displaying in Elements at all.
Has anyone else heard of this problem? I already tried reinstalling Elements, but it didn't work. I REALLY need a fix.

Go to your hard drive>library>application support>adobe>Photoshop Elements>6.0>Locale>en_US (or your location) and delete mediaDatabase.db3, also in hard drive>library>application support>adobe>Photoshop Elements>6.0, delete ThumbDatabase.db3 . When you relaunch PSE don't do anything till the thumbnails reappear in the panels. It will probably take several minutes.
Also, if you haven't repaired permissions since installing PSE, do that before you restart the program.

Data object editor totally empty?

Hello,
For some reason the Data object editor is totally empty when I try to edit an existing table or view.
I double click on the table name -> the editor opens but without any contents. Just an empty gray space.
This "feature" showed up a few days ago.
What to do??
Any help is highly appreciated.

Both client and repository reside on a wm virtual machine with windows server 2003 R2.
Note! This seems to be client broblem since if I connect to the repository using OWB that is installed on my laptop, the editor seems to work fine.

I tried clicking all possible options like "Arrange all", "Fit in window" and "Auto layout". No effect.
Finally I selected "Birds eye view" (that was deselected).
At that moment all the sections (explorer, configuration, palette, Bird's eye view, canvas and details) showed up... very strange.
But at the moment my problem seems to be gone.

Bookmarks Bar totally empty all of a sudden

Today I noticed a weird thing on my iPad 2: Safari's bookmark bar was totally empty! It's there but it's empty! All bookmarks in it gone. And I almost always use the bookmarks in that bar!
I went to my MacBook Air: same thing! Empty!
I went to my iMac at home: guess what -- empty!
Holy crap! Thanks to some wonderfully sophisticated cloud thing or MobileMe thing sync seems to have screwed up the bookmarks bar!
It's still empty and I'm afraid to open my MacBook Pro and open Safari because I might be too slow to stop MobeilMe syncing from replicating the error to that MacBook Pro, too!
Is there any help? Any idea? Anything I can do?

That's not good...
On either your MBAir or your iMac, open System Preferences then select MobileMe. Select the Sync tab.
Make sure: Bookmarks is selected. Click Sync Now
If that didn't help, click the Advanced tab. Now click: Reset Sync Data
If that didn't help, click your Apple menu (on your Macs) then click Software Update.

When iCal in Leopard starts, it is totally empty and unusable

After booting up and starting iCal, it is always totally empty and unusable (none of the buttons work)... There are no calendars, shared calendars, or subscriptions. Quitting and re-opening usually loads as usual and there is no data loss.
This happened the very first time I upgraded to Leopard (I thought everything was permanently lost) and has been happening since.
Anyone know what I can do to fix this?

I had the same problems as many others here and may have stumbled upon an answer.
I had no problems after installing Leopard, mine just occurred in the last day.
I deleted the prefs files and it brought my calendars back but when I tried to view my to dos, as soon as the side window opened, it didn't crash the program (i.e. shut it down) but it was useless and I had to quit anway.
Delete prefs, start again.
I had a look at the calendars in there to see if this blank "home" and other folder was there and it wasn't. However I did find that a IMAP email account that I use, connected with another organization, was appearing in my list of calendars. I didn't put it there, but it was feeding info to iCal.
Once I disabled the account in mail, all functionality in iCal was restored.

Help Mac Help - "Discovering Your Mac" constantly reloads (flashing...)

The problem:
constant automatic repeated reload of help page
Navigating the Menu to Help > Help Mac gives the "Mac Help" page as expected.
On this page is a link "Work smart, play hard." headed "Discovering Your Mac".
Clicking this link the "Discovering Your Mac" help page appears but is in a state of constant automatic repeated reload (as if the menu View > Reload were being constantly selected).
This iBook G4 12" (MacOS X 10.4.4) is straight out of the Box purchased this week from Computerwarehouse.com.
Main Question:
Is this normal out of the box behaviour that just has to be patched or is this a fault that should prompt me to send back the iBook.
Background:
I bought a Mac for home use because I'm fed up with spending more time configuring Wintel PCs than using them.
Surely a Mac should not do this out of the box - or am I being hopelessly naive.
Comuterwarehouse’s solution:
Purchased from Computerwarehouse (thank god I didn’t buy from PC World).
Removed the cache folder “com.apple.helpui”. This didn’t work. There next suggestion is to update to 10.4.6. I am waiting to do this (they will post me CD since I’m on dialup at home and strict download restrictions at work). After this the suggestion is a complete reinstall.

Have updated to 10.4.6
Looked at the troubleshooting HelpViewer link.
Been through as many options as seem related.
The iPhotoPhotocast.plugin is installed. Removing this and the cache files then restarting has no effect.
Have verified the disk.
But the MacHelp page does work when connected to the internet.
MacHelp.help does link to the internet so perhaps updates itself. Do help files update them selves, or is the extra content just held in a cache file somewhere?
What is the latest version of MacHelp.help?

It looks like this gets modified - last modified today 00:24.
How can i reload just this help file.
What is the current version of HelpViewer?

Does help viewer get updated when you do an update? e.g. from 10.4.4 to 10.4.6.
Just noticed 10.4.7 now available - another 65MB download on dial up and Apple refuse to send it on a CD to me.
Would be intereseted in any answers on the help file version and how I get it.

MDTB table remains totally empty

Hello,
I need to extract information from the MRP list such as exception messages number and rescheduling date. This data is only available in the MDTB (MRP details) table linked to the MDKP (MRP header).
For some reason, the MDTB table remains totally empty. Is there a way to fill it or another table to take the information from ?? I can't run any function module since i don't have any developper access.

Check the settings in Spro
Materials requirement Planning --> Check Performance setting ---> Check storage mode for MRP list
Check the indicator for the relevent plant to have the transparent storage takes place in the table MDTB, whereas the aggregated format is stored in table MDTC.

Satellite L10-104 doesn't start after battery totally empty

Hi,
after I left the laptop over the weekend without the AC charger the battery was totally empty. So I reconnected it to charge the battery for one day.
Now, when I press the power on button the green LED on the front illuminates for approx 3 seconds - nothing else happens. No HDD sounds, no coooling fan noise, nothing on the screen.
Does anyone have some ideas what I could do to make it run again?

I took out the battery for one day, put everything together and tried to start up - nothing.
Then I took out RAM, HDD and some other module that's accessible from underneath and put the power cord in, tried to start - nothing.
I even disassembled the whole notebook and hooked up only the motherboard with the power line (of course CPU, GPU and cooling fan were still attached) - still nothing. Only the green LED in the front lights up for 3 seconds.
My guess is - its time has finally come. However I never expected that after a complete discharge of the battery.
Thanks for your help. I'd appreciate if you have any other ideas and since the notebook is 5 years old I guess I will not take it to a service technician.

With my MACPRO it's impossible to activate the GPU.
What can we do. Now it's impossible to enable a video in AECC.

Effects Pallette not working

Hey everyone, I uninstalled PSE 7 to try to make my PSE 10 work that I had purchased. I ended up just getting my money back for PSE 10 and reinstalling my PSE 7, but now my effects pallette isn't working. None of the effects are showing up! I NEED my effects. Can anyone tell me how to fix this?

Hi Lara,
Sounds like something got really screwed up between PSE10 not working and the uninstalls you did.
It would be best to start with as clean a system as you can get for the PSE7 installation:
Use the Control Panel...Add/Remove Programs to uninstall PSE7.
Then use the Microsoft FixIt utility to clean up any registry problems:

Then follow these directions to manually check for and remove any leftover PSE7 items:

Reboot.
Then install PSE7.

One way : use the filter : correct camera distortion. Move the remove distortion slider towards left (barrel distortion)
Or, first increase the canvas size to a square format bigger than the larger dimension of the image and play with the filter : distort, spherize.

The effects pallet is just not showing up for users with network homes.
Is there any way to get thsi working, with MCX redirector perhaps ??
This is urgent, tried calling Adobe but lines are constantly engaged.

en fait je suis allé sur le chat en ligne d'Adobe (car ils n'ont pas d'aide par support téléphone) et là j'ai discuté avec des techniciens qui m'ont redirigé vers l'aide en ligne Américaine (ma licence est Canadienne) puis un technicien m'a aidé à faire la manipulation. Sur le chat en direct, il faut écrire le 1er message et attendre qu'un technicien soit libre pour répondre, cela peut prendre un peu de temps. Sinon, si je me souviens bien, j'ai téléchargé une mise à jour sur le site Adobe, là j'ai obtenu 2 icones, et j'ai simplement cliqué sur AF ingéniering en premier puis sur AF application, ensuite et tout s'est mis en place (si on clique directement sur AF application, ça ne marche pas). Mais je ne peux que vous conseiller de demander l'aide en ligne par chat qui à mon avis est très efficace.

Opening recent project sees it totally empty !

Premiere Pro CS3
Just opened a project I had last worked on and completed in Feb 2010 and its totally empty, nothing in timeline, no assets, nothing !

I had finished it and created an avi then authored and burned a dvd from that. It displayed with cropping. Now having sussed that issue after trying out various options (solved by adding in black margins) I need to alter the images within the project to those with the margins, but everything is missing.
Searched the entire PC for *.prproj and this project is the one I had worked on.
Thats very worrying if Premiere can wipe out ones work like that. I see another posting also had the same trouble.
I tried resetting work area to default, not that I had altered it from such anyway, but made no difference.
Any ideas, else I have to do the entire project all over again.
In future I shall save as filename_s1 then s2 then s3 as I go along !
