My Elements 9 does not recognise Raw NEF files created by my newNikon d 800.

I would be grateful if you could send me the relevant updaste so that my Elements 9 Package cn recognise RAW NEF files created by my new Nikon D 800

Unfortunately, nobody can send the relevant update since the D800 requires a more recent version of ACR than will work in PSE 9.
You have three options:
1. Use the Nikon software to convert the files and then use PSE for any additional editing to the converted images.
2. Upgrade to PSE 11.
3. Download the free adobe DNG converter and use that to convert your NEFs to a format that your version of ACR can understand:

I just got a Nikon D800. I have been useing Photoshop CS4. Bridge cannot "see" the raw files, Camera Raw cannot open them so of coursed PS cannot open them either. Updating did not make a difference. Is there an upgrade that will see the raw files?

  • Why does elements 11 not recognize nikon nef files

I have been using Elements 11 for quite a while for Canon Raw files with great success. It really works fine for me.
I recently bought a Nikon D300. For some reason Elements 11 will not recognize the Nikon NEF raw files.
    W H Y ? ? ?

    Thank you for your reply.
    Answers to your questions:
I am using Win7 64 bit. Elements 11 has worked just fine until I attempted to process NEF files.
I always copy files to my HD before trying to process any.
How do I check to see if my Camera Raw module is current? EVERY time, regardless of day of the week or time of day, when do the Help/Update thing I ALWAYS  get that message block about website is busy, try again. I'll bet I've tried it over a hundred times over the past two weeks or so. I have a feeling that it can't be that busy for that long. Or, maybe I'm just unlucky, or maybe your server is too small to handle the load.
Needless to say, I am really frustrated with Adobe.
Again, thank you for your reply, and hopefully my answers will provide a solution.

  • Elements does not recognise prel file

I saved a project to DVD (photos with background music) Elements does not recognise "prel" file when trying to reload project. How do i open file in Premiere Elements 10

    Chris (Herbie53)
There was no Premiere Elements 5 and 6. The version numbers went 1, 2, 3, 4, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 (latest) So you probably use Premiere Elements 4 or maybe 7 on probably Windows 32 bit XP or Vista.
Case 1. (Here we assume that you have the project.prel file (project) saved to a DVD disc as data disc.)
Even if you had saved that older Premiere Elements project file (project.prel) along with copies of the media that went into it, it is still questionable whether that old project.prel could be opened in Premiere Elements 12. But, assuming that the media was still connected to it (which it probably is not), you could try by right clicking the project.prel file and selecting Open With Premiere Elements 12. Have you gone that route, and the project would not open or you were greeted by "Where is the file...?" messages.
Case 2. (Here we assume that, when you were using the the older program, you took the project Timeline to DVD-VIDEO on DVD disc...this is not the project.prel file, but an export of it.)
In this situation, if you put your DVD disc in the burner tray and explored it, you would see two folders, one named OpenDVD and another named VIDEO_TS. This is your best case scenario. If this is the case.....
    a. Put your DVD disc in the burner tray.
    b. Open Premiere Elements 12 Expert workspace. Go to File Menu/New/Project and Change Settings.
In Change Settings, set the project preset for either NTSC DV Standard or NTSC DV Widescreen. For now, we will assume NTSC DV Standard. Then, before you exit that area, in the last dialog that you see (new project dialog), make sure you have a check mark next to "Force Selected Project Setting on This Project".
    c. Next, back in the Premiere Elements 12 Expert workspace, use Add Media/DVD Camera or Computer Drive/Video Importer where you will select video files from the VIDEO_TS Folder to bring into the Premiere Elements 12 project. You will have to redo the menu in 12. The video files that you want from the VIDEO_TS Folder typically start with VTS_01_1.VOB and continue in series which can be detailed later.
Goal right now is to sort through the details so that we are in sync on what you have in order to enable us to be confident about the troubleshooting strategy.
We will be watching for your comments and results.
    Thanks.

Add On.....The classical recommendation has always been to complete a project in the program in which it was created. But let us see what can be done here.

  • Exported my video from Elements 12 but Powerpoint does not recognise the video file. How can we do it?

Exported my video from Elements 12 - format mp4 but Powerpoint does NOT recognise the video file. Why?

.wpl appears to be a Windows Media Player playlist. I can find no conversion software for that, and Windows Media Player is not available for Mac anymore.
If you can persuade him to download iTunes and create the playlist as mp3 in a iTunes playlist, or even just burn the base mp3 files to CD as a data disc, that's about the only solutions I can suggest.

  • Camera raw does not read D7100 nef files [was:Ernied]

Camera raw does not read d7100 nef files. did update...still no success.

I suspect that the DNG converter will work for you if you use it properly. It isn't your fault, but Adobe has created a kind of a silly interface in the DNG converter. Notice that it is asking you for the folder. When you are browsing for a location within the DNG converter, choose the folder, but don't open the folder. If you do then the DNG converter will tell you there are no images to convert. If you choose the folder then the DNG converter will convert all the files within that folder.

  • Elements 12 -  does not recognize raw c2r files using EOS 70D

How to tell what version of Camera Raw is installed when Elements does not recognize the Canon raw extension? I have updated within the last five minutes.

to see what version of Camera Raw is installed, you can go to:
Help >> About Plug in >> Camera Raw
    See this picture:
You can also try to update your version if it isn't version 8.5
There is also a possibility to use DNG converter to load any raw files from any cameras but see if this answers your question.

  • Elements 7 does not recognise RAW files from my new camera

Have recently bought a new camera (Canon EOS 60d), which is an import.  Whilst I can process Jpegs in Elements the RAW files are not recognised.  Help

PSE7 is three years old, and camera makers are constantly changing the formats of the RAW images they use.  There's no way for PSE7 to open those new RAW files, beause the latest version of Adobe Camera RAW is incompatible.
You'll have to use the Adobe DNG converter to convert the RAW files and then open the DNG files in PSE:
    http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=5375
    Or you can purchase PSE10.

  • Why is Elements 12 not recognising raw files from my Nikon d5300

What am I doing wrong, the main reason I bought Elements 12 was to regcognise eaw files from my Nikon d5300

    Hi,
You shouldn't need to use the DNG converter unless you are using the MAC app version. The D5300 should be supported by Camera Raw 8.3 which should be compatible with Photoshop Elements 12.
In the editor go to Help -> About Plug-in -> Camera Raw to see which version you have loaded. The latest for Photoshop Elements 12 is 8.5. If you have an older one then go to the Help menu and select Updates.
If you are up to date, then you may have use old Nikon software to access the NEF files and that is known to corrupt them so that Photoshop Elements can't read them.

  • PSE11 not recognising D600 NEF files?

I used to have a Nikon D600. When I first got it I didn't upgrade from PSE9 and consequently I processed quite a number of files in ViewNX 2.
On revisiting those files now that I have PSE11 (which works well with D800 files) PSE11 doesn't seem to recognise and when I go into the Editor and try to open one from there I get the following message:
I had thought that PSE11 would work with the D600 NEF files - is this not the case?

    Hi,
Try updating your pse 11 camera raw to 7.4:

  • Bridge CC does not have Nikon .NEF file association to set

When I open preferences and go to File Association settings, the extention for Nikon Raw .NEF is not there. It's a pain having to right click the thumbnail everytime I want to open it Photoshop CC.  I do have Photoshop CS6 and it defaults to that in the context menu when I right click.  How do I change that. I am on a MAC using OS X  Mavericks.

JPGs use lossy compression so some pixels aren’t exactly the same anymore; however, if you use the highest or close to highest quality setting in LR during Export it will be hard to tell any difference.
JPGs are compressed by contain 3 colors per pixel whereas raw files (NEFs in your case) usually contain only one bit per pixel and are compressed in a way that makes them smaller but doesn’t lose any image data.
TIFs if not compressed are the width x height x 1 or 2 bytes per pixel x 3 colors-per-pixel so can be huge as you have seen.
If you shoot JPG and edit those in LR you still cannot see the LR edits in those original JPGs, only the camera rendering.

  • Ovi Suite does not recognise special MP3 files

My Ovi Suite does not import some of my MP3 files, even though they have proper ID3 tags (there are even albums where some files are recognised and others not, although I can see no difference in the "quality" of the tags). If I directly choose one of those to add, the program always states "0 files added".
I would like to get ALL of my MP3s (approx 2GB) into Ovi suite, not just 80%. Can anyone give me a hint why Ovi suite dislikes some of my files?
    Thanks!
    Fabian

    Hi,
Thank you for your post on Nokia Ovi Suite
Could you please provide with some samples of the MP3 files ( 2 or 3 of them).
You could either attach it here or you can upload them on Files on Ovi.
To upload them on Files on Ovi, follow the steps below:
    1. Log into Ovi.com

For a user who has not set up files on ovi on his computer, it will give an option to download the file connector.
    4. Click Download and install the file connector.
    5. Then you will find the Sign in to Ovi Files icon in the desktop.
    6. Close the browser and then click on Sign in to Ovi Files icon from desktop.
    7. It will connect to ovi.com again. Login with username and password.
    8. Left pane shows the directory like the windows explorer.
    9. Anytime file status will show the respective file/folder
    10. Select the file which you want to send and then right click the file and select the option send.
    11. Type the email address [email protected]
    12. Select the epiration date and then add comments if any.

  • Simulate Acquisition does not include new image file created after first call

For example, I have 5 images in a folder.
    I call Simulate Acquisition.
It cycles through all 5 images.
Now If I include 1 more image it does not include this image in the "cycle". I need to reload this step by clicking Main\path\browse button and select any image in the folder and then it cycles through all 6 images.
Is there anyway to automatically include new images added to the folder after the step has been created?
    Thanks.

    LabVIEW 2011 SP1
    Vision Builder AI 2011 SP1

Here's a sample inspection and VI to illustrate how you could do this. I used an image variable and passed this into the Run LV step so the VI could read the file and update the image variable and then I used the Select Image step to get the image variable into the VBAI script so you can process it. I also added a delete option in the VI so you can delete the previous image when you read the next available image. Make sure to go to the Setup State and initialize the path variable to where your image files will live (to access the Setup State, go to View>>View Complete Inspection and select on the Setup option on the left hand side. I initialized it to c:\Image Folder
    Hope this helps,
    Brad
