My email address has changed, how do I change it on thsi site? I don't see anywhere to edit my info.

Hi:
Log in and click on your user name.
Then on the right side of the webpage, you will see a My Community heading.
Under your user name you will see some links to expand.
Click on the Resources & Settings link.
Click on the last item listed -- My User Settings
Then part way down the page you will see a line with these descriptions:
Edit HP Passport>User ID - Password - Contact Information - Security Questions.
Click on the Contact Information link and change your e-mail address.
Then at the bottom of the page, click on the orange Save Changes box and you're done.

I had this very same problem when trying to activate iMessage and Facetime on my iPad. When I signed into my account, I actually wasn't even presented with the option of a phone number - notwithstanding the fact that I was contacting others (and being reached by others) by my phone number on my iPhone. Having both the iPad and the iPhone on, I kept trying to turn off and on both iMessage and Facebook in Settings on both my iPad and iPhone, hoping that that they would eventually sync. But this proposed solution by others was unsuccessful for me.
Then, I found out what the problem was: When my iPhone was activated, it automatically registered my phone number for contact purposes. I was using iMessage on my iPhone for quite some time without actually being signed into my Apple ID account. When another device - such as an iPad or iPod - is being used for iMessage or Facebook, you are prompted to sign into your Apple account, using your username and password. These two devices will not register your phone number as an option for contact unless your iPhone is signed into your Apple account as well. In other words: your phone number will not be synced.
Go into your "Settings" on your iPhone and click on "Messages". Scroll down and click on "Send & Receive" (which should be followed by your phone number). On the next page, you will be able to determine whether or not your iPhone is using the Apple ID for messaging purposes. (Note: This information applies for Facetime as well.) If it is using your Apple ID for messaging, than at the top, you will see "Apple ID: <your particular e-mail account>" in Blue text. However, if you are not using your Apple ID for messaging, than you will see the words: "Use your Apple ID for message". Even though below this you will see your phone number checked as the contact source, you will want to click the tab that says, "Use your Apple ID for message". Sign into your account (just as you must sign in for iMessage on your other devices), and just choose your phone number as the "Send & Receive" contact. (The option of the e-mail will be there too, but you don't have to check it. And later on, you can delete it as an option.)
Now that all of your devices are signed in using your Apple ID, the other devices should register your phone number as a choice. It may take a little while, however. What I did was sign out of iMessage on my iPad, and then sign in again. If the option didn't appear, I just went back and signed in again, and kept doing this until the option for the phone number appeared.
Again, this will work for Facetime as well. The solution is to sync your iPhone account with the other devices by using your Apple ID for messaging (and Facetime) purposes.

Have you forgotten your password? - if so, you have a problem if the email address has gone dead.
If you know your password, go to the iTunes Store, click on Account. log in and you can change the associated email address.
If you don't know your password, and have no email address, you are going to have problems because it's difficult to see how Apple are going to identify you as the authorised owner of the account. Contact iTunes Support: go to http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/ - click on 'Other iTunes Store Features' in the list and then on 'Podcasts'. You will see a link to either 'Express Lane', which will guide you eventually to some contact options, or you may see a link to email them.

You need to contact Apple to get the questions reset. Click here, phone them, and ask for the Account Security team, or fill out and submit this form.
It isn't possible to add or change the rescue email address without supplying two of the answers.

That's definitely not supposed to happen. You shouldn't have someone else's iCloud email linked to your ID.
You'll have to get iCloud support to sort this one out. The only way to contact them is to start here: http://www.apple.com/support/icloud/. You'll have to provide your iPhone serial number. Unless it's within the 90 day free support window, or you purchased AppleCare, there will be a charge. I suppose you can plead your case when they answer that you shouldn't be charged as you didn't set up this address and it shouldn't have happened with your ID.

My sons have iPads and they are trying to download apps but are unable as they are new devices and we need to answer security questions that I have forgotten answers. You set up email accounts on the iPad in Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>Add Account. You have a choice of some of the most popular email providers in the setup list or you can select Other at the bottom.
Tap on the provider that is applicable and begin the setup on the iPad.

When I received my iphone 4s 3 years ago the my apple id and icloud email addresses were the same, it was a student email from the college I attended. This account is no longer active, but when I changed my apple id email address to a current email (gmail account) the icloud address didn't change over. I now have no ability to sign into icloud on my phone and icloud hasn't been updated in nearly a year. I wanted to figure out this problem before I upgraded to the Iphone 6 this December. Default outgoing email address is wrong, how do I change it ?

I've been using Thunderbird successfully for several years with 6 different email accounts - 1 gmail account, 2 yahoo accounts, and 3 accounts on another domain.
Recently I added a new gmail account for a project I'm working on.
Now, the default email address defaults to the new account, which is not what I want at all.
If I'm replying to or forwarding emails or writing new emails I want the address that I'm sending from to default to the mailbox that I'm currently using, replying from or forwarding from.
If that just isn't possible, I'd be happy if it defaulted to my general email address (the first one I had) but I certainly don't want Thunderbird to use the email address for the new account, which my project colleagues want only to be used in connection with the project.
How do I resolve this, please ?

There is an assumption thast if you are viewing emails in a particular account and then select Write, that you are wanting to Write an email to do with the account you are viewing, so....
If you are viewing emails in account A and then click on Write, the FROM email address will be Account A,
If you are viewing emails in account B and then click on Write, the FROM email address will be Account B,
you can set any account as default.
This will be the one positioned at the top.
* Tools > Account Settings
* Select the account name
* click on 'Account Actions'
* click on 'Set as default'
* click on OK
If you want to reorganise more than just setting the default account.

In the future, you might get better results if you post your own thread rather than responding to one that is this old (a year and a half).
When the contact that is not in your contact lists shows up, tap teh arrow beside it inteh list. The information pop up will give you the opportunity to remove it from the "Recents" list (or add it, if you choose).

You may have already done this, but try de-authorizing your computer (through the iTunes:Store menu) and then re-authorizing it.
