My email address is not linked with my skype name

I forgot my password and I asked Skype to send me a email with the indications to set a new one.
I received the email, but when I clicked on the link, in the options there wasn't my skypename of which I lost the password just my other Skypename.
I'm more than sure that I enter the right email for that Skypename since I only have one email address, what happened with my other Skypename? I used it 2 weeks ago.
How can I recover the password?

As per Niel's post, you've scrolled down to the bottom of the page to the 'Additional Information' section and clicked on the link to contact Support ?
If you decide not to provide a rescue email address, you can't reset your security questions and answers yourself later in the event you can't remember the answers to your questions. You'll need to contact iTunes Store support to have your questions and answers reset.

    Where are you trying to log in? You should be able to change your ID at http://appleid.apple.com - can you log in there?
    Before you change your ID you should log out of the iTunes Store and on any devices which are logged into iCloud. Then once you've changed it you can log back in with the new ID. (Your iCloud synced data will disappear from the device when you do this but will reappear when you sign back in - give it time).
    If you are unable to sign into http://appleid.apple.com you will need to contact Support. Go to http://iforgot.apple.com and sign in with your iCloud login. A new password will be sent to your associated email address. If this doesn't work you will have to contact Support. Go to https://getsupport.apple.com . Click' See all products and services', then 'More Products and Services, then 'Apple ID', then 'Other Apple ID Topics' then 'Lost or forgotten Apple ID password'.     In Business Catalyst, if you insert the tag { tag_recipientfirstname}, the tooltip on this feature advises that "First name of the recipient (replaces with 'Friend' if first name is empty)".
    This is false advertising.
    It does not replace with 'Friend', it just leaves it blank.
    Obviously, this is a major problem when trying to send out personalized emails, and doesn't help us make the case for a client to use Business Catalyst instead of MailChimp, iContact, or any of dozens of other email tools that reliably provide this simple, simple feature.

    We have just raised this issue via Live Chat and they have identified this as a bug.
    This was there response.
    "I have investigated this issue further and this is something I can replicate. As you have mentioned, both {tag_recipientfirstname} and {tag_recipientname} should render 'Friend' if the associated information is missing from the contact's CRM, however it is not at this stage.

  • IMessage says email address is not registered

    My friend & I have been using iMessage without any problem until yesterday. Now, messages won't go out on her iPad 2 and when I try to send to her from my iPad 2, I get an error msg saying her email address is not registered with iMessage. I have rechecked all of her iMessage setting and they are good, as well as tested sending & receiving emails with her using the same email address. I can still send messages to other people--just not to her. On her end, no messages will go out, but her wi-fi signal is good, as well as her Internet connection. Any thoughts?

    It was totally separate. I just now went back to a previous email from Apple to that secondary address which urged me to transition to iCloud. I followed the link and it prompted me thru the process and the address is now able to send/receive emails. Thanks.

  • My contacts have not linked with the email when I want to send - why???

    I have just downloaded Mozilla Thunderbird and imported my contacts as directed. When I go to send an email to any of my contacts the contact list does not appear. When I manually type the address it does not link with my contacts.
    I am sure there is something very simple I am not doing, but I need to know what that simple thing is!!!

    Have you followed [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/thunderbird-and-gmail#w_useful-add-ons this guide] in order to setup your contacts? I personally recommend the Google Contacts add-on.
    After configuring it, make sure your contacts are synced to Thunderbird by opening you Address Book and looking under the "Gmail" session.

    Welcome to the Apple community.
    In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")
    When you delete your account, all the data that is synced with iCloud will also be deleted from the device (but not from iCloud), but will be synced back to your device when you login again.

    I'm sorry to hear you are having these issues changing your Apple ID. It is correct that if an email address has been used previously for an Apple ID, it can not be used for a different Apple ID, as noted in this article:
    In most cases, your Apple ID is also the primary email address of your Apple ID account. You can change your Apple ID to any other email address you control, as long as it's not already in use as an Apple ID. If your email address ends with @icloud.com, @me.com, or @mac.com, it's already an Apple ID.

    If you are certain that the email in question has never been used for an Apple ID and you are having issues contacting Apple Support regarding this issue, you may want to make sure you are going through the Apple ID support channel on the following page:

  • TS1389 Similar problem with our iPad.  Apps purchased with "old" USR name that is not an email address can not be updated.  Free Apps update OK, but purchased ones show box asking for the non-email USR ID which Apple no longer recognizes.  HELP

    Have tried to get Apple Tech Support and local Apple techs to deal with this problem to no avail.  Apple store "genius" throws up hands and says nothing can be done.  Root of the problem seems to be that the old non-email AppleID is stuck in their system creating a catch22 that it appears as the account purchasing Apps, then is not recognized as a valid ID, and then disallows any attempt to change it to a recognized email address.
    Consequence is that Apps appropriately purchased can not be updated.  Apple store advises us to delete them and repurchase, but this seems more Windowsian than Applian.  Any Ideas??

    Thank you for posting in the Apple Support Communities.  I found an article that addresses Apple IDs that are different than the Primary Email Address on the account.  You will need to go to https://appleid.apple.com/ to "Make your Apple ID and email address one and the same."
    If your Apple ID and primary email address do not match, or they match but the email address is unverified, you can edit them.
    1. Sign in to My Apple ID to manage your account information.
    2. If you want to add and verify an email address that matches your Apple ID, follow the dialog box that says "Make your Apple ID and email address one and the same." This will automatically unverify that email address from any other Apple ID for which it was previously verified.
    3. If you want to change your email address to one that does not match your Apple ID, click Edit next to your Primary Email Address. If this email address is already associated with another Apple ID, you will need to sign in with that Apple ID and delete it before you can add it to your preferred Apple ID.
    Note: If you have an @me.com or @mac.com Apple ID and primary email address, you cannot edit your primary email address once it has been verified. To change your @me.com or @mac.com primary email address to another email address, contact Apple Support for assistance.

    There is no cache where the emails would be stored on the iPad, but you could try quitting the mail app and then launch it again and see if the emails return.
    Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit/close open apps by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner to close the apps. Tap the home button. Then try mail again.

    You might want to try contacting Apple for assistance by going to https://expresslane.apple.com, then click See All Products and Services>iTunes>iTunes Store>Passwords & Security Questions>Lost or Forgotten Apple ID password.  They should be able to explain what's going on and help you reset the password for the old ID if necessary.  The call should be free.

    The Snow Leopard 10.6 DVD should still be available from Apple for $20. You will have to call Apple Customer Care 1-800-692-7753 or 1-800-676-2775 to purchase it. It may still be in the Legacy Products list. The App Store which is required to download 10.7 or 10.8 is part of the 10.6.6 update.
    If they no longer have any in stock you will have to buy it from eBay or Apple resellers that still have stock. But you will have to pay a premium since the DVDs are no longer being made. Snow Leopard DVDs are already up to $100 on Amazon.

    It sounds like his email address may already be in use as an Apple ID and the system is directing you to try to reset that password via date of birth and security questions.
