How can I unlock my UK phone for AUS use when sourced from UK Apple Store (so without service provider to do it for me)?

So my Aus iPhone that I had unlocked to do a bit of travelling went for a swim in the Med- my service provider back home informed me that in order to claim on insurance internationally that I should get a new one from an Apple Store and send them the bill etc etc. I did that, and all was fine with the rest of my trip on a prepaid UK sim. Now I am home and want to put my AUS sim in (where I am under postpaid contract) but my iPhone is not recognising it, with an error message of 'Invalid Sim'. Okay, so if you purchased your iPhone from an Apple store in the UK then it is fully unlocked. Apple in the UK sell fully and officially unlocked iPhones, so you should not have a problem with inserting any sim card into your phone. The phone will be unlocked as long as you purchased the phone in the UK for the full purchase price and not as sim free rather than unlocked.
Have a word with your provider, as there could possibly be a problem with your sim card. Get a new sim card and try that. There is no reason why this should not work on an unlocked iPhone.

- For purchasing media. Srrings.iTunes and App stores. Sing out and sign into anoterh account
- Settings>iCLoudl for iCloud account
- Settings>FaceRome for Apple ID and where You can Be Reached At email address
- Settings>Messages for Send And Receive email address.
- Maybe for Game Center

You can change the (non-Apple) email address which forms your Apple ID to another one at http://appleid.apple.com. If you are going to do this you should follow this procedure to avoid problems:
Firstly, if you have 'Find My iPhone/iPad/iMac' enabled on any of your devices, turn it off.
Create a new email address, for example at Yahoo or Gmail, or anywhere convenient (or you can use an existing address as long as it has never been associated with an Apple ID).
Go to http://appleid.apple.com and click 'Manage your Apple ID'. Sign in with the current ID.
Where it says 'Apple ID and primary email address' and gives your current ID email address, click 'edit'.
Enter your new address and click 'Save changes'.
Now you will need to go to each of your devices and sign out in System Preferences (or Settings)>iCloud - 'Sign out' on a Mac, 'Delete this account' on an iOS device (this will not delete the account from the server).
Then sign back in with your new ID. Your iCloud data will disappear from your devices when you sign out, but reappear when you sign back in (give it time).
I re-iterate: before you start, turn off 'Find My Mac' (or whatever) or you will need the services of Support.

You should have no need to use the Old Sync account.
As long as device or devices are Firefox 29 or later (They should all be Firefox 30 now) you should use the New Sync.
You may use the same email address with both accounts.

Everytime I purchase using iTunes on my home computer it asks me to verify my c/card, and states "Your Apple ID, ..., was just used to purchase ... from the iTunes Store on a computer or device that had not previously been associated with that Apple ID.

When i use my laptop to make an iTunes store purchase, it always asks me to verify my account details by entering my credit card verification number. After i do this i then receive an email stating "Your Apple ID, ..., was just used to purchase ... from the iTunes Store on a computer or device that had not previously been associated with that Apple ID."
My Laptop is my home device and apart from purchasing app's on my iphone 4, i only use my laptop to make itunes purchases.

When I downloaded these episodes to my iPad, about a dozen full seasons of various shows popped up, too. My iMessage recently stopped working. When I attempt to log back in it tells me "your apple ID (email address) cannot be used to set up imessage at this time" then gives me a code to share with Apple support. (See screen shot). Any suggestions?

There is no official public documentation of that error message as far as I know, but according to reports, it can mean (at least sometimes) that the same Apple ID is being used with the iTunes Store or one of the other Apple content stores, and the payment method is invalid. Sign in to the store and review your account. You do not, of course, have to provide any billing information to set up an account to use only with iMessage, as it's a free service.
Otherwise, do what the error message tells you to do.
