My email doesn't exist.

A friend sent me a gift but to receive the gift I have to sign in to my hotmail account, but it says that my account doesn't exist. How this is impossible when I use this email for my icloud account?

You need to have your friend go into their account in iTunes on a computer, click on their Apple ID, sign in, and under Purchase History Gifts, click on Manage Gifts. Then they need to click on View for the gift they sent you, and they need to change the email address to your email address - not to your Apple ID....

If you did not sign out of your Apple ID on your iPhone before creating a new one, then you will need to sign back in with your previous Apple ID and then sign out. If you do not remember your password and do not have access to the email account, then you can reset your password by using the security questions.

Rescue Email Doesn't Exist Anymore

Ok, so when I originally entered my rescue email address, I used a TK Mailias address for some reason.
The domain of which the rescue address is registered at has now expired, and I need to reset my security questions.
What am I supposed to do now?

You should contact AppleCare who will initially try to assist you with a reset email or if unsuccessful will pass you to the security team to reset your security questions for you.
If you are in a region that doesn't have international telephone support try contacting Apple through iTunes Store Support.

Recovery email doesn't exist

I've recently brought a new iPhone and so when I went to download a paid app I was asked to complete the recovery questions. But when I set up my Apple ID it was a few years back now so I don't remember the answers as they are similar to the ones I used to get asked on aol when I was younger I often changed who my best childhood friend is so now I can't remember what the answers are..
I tried all the answers I could think of until I was locked out for 8 hours. So I sent a recovery of questions email to the 'rescue address'. Thing is this address isn't one that I remember creating or setting as a rescue and as it is a gmail account it might have been deleted. I only use one gmail account and I don't remember creating any others and I've tried to find a way to recover that by using the minimal info that Apple gave me for it but gmail isn't finding it and none of my other emails are associated with it so I'm stuck. I can't download any paid apps without these answers. Someone please help. Kathy

Tried to restore from backup but it's asking for my iCloud password for an email address that doesn't exist anymore. What do I do?

I had my phone replaced today and have tried to restore from the backup I made this morning. It didn't restore properly so I wanted to try again but I can't as it asks for my iCloud password for a non-existant email account. Why is Mail asking me for the name of an smtp server for an email address that doesn't exist?

I've migrated from Snow Leopard to Mountain Lion on a new Mac, but in trying to use Mail on ML, it keeps asking me for the name of an smtp server for an email address that's never existed. The addy has my user name correct, but the server part of the address doesn't exist, or at least I've never used an email address with that provider. On ML there's no plist file for Mail, so nothing to delete there. What else can I do to get Mail working? The only other option I have is to abandon Mail as being crippled and useless, and use Postbox, which for it's price (US$9.95) is an attractive option. OTOH, I've paid for Mail after all, so it really ought to work. Any clues as to what I can do to stop its nonsensical behaviour? How do I file a bug report?

The apple id login is never deleted. The emaill address itself can be disabled or not in use any longer. The apple id login will still be available to you. If you will go to the website My Apple Id

and use the listed apple id login that your apps are asking for to update - once you have changed the password at the lsted website you then will be able to update using the old apple id once you have logged into the device using the old apple id and password.

I have alternate icloud email attached to my iPad and I accidentally delete it from appleid.apple.com. And now I can't log out that iCloud account because it doesn't exist and it can't recognize my password.

If you mean that Find My Phone is asking for a password to a different Apple ID to your current Apple IDand that ID is a previous version of your current ID, not an entirely different one.
This feature has been introduced to make stolen phones useless to those that have stolen them.
However it can also arise when the user has changed their Apple ID details with Apple and not made the same changes to their iCloud account/Find My Phone on their device before upgrading to iOS 7, or if you restore from a previous back up made before you changed your details and some other circumstances.
The only solution is to change your Apple ID back to its previous state with Apple at My Apple ID using your current password, you don’t need access to this address if it’s previously been used with your Apple ID, once you have saved these details enter the password as requested on your device and then turn off "find my phone" and delete the account from your device. It may take a short while to remove the account.
You should then change your Apple ID back to its current state, save it once again and then log back in using your current Apple ID. Finally, turn "find my phone" back on once again.

I just used the "find my apple id" and it has an id to my old email address problem is when i try to login to hotmail with that account it says the email address doesn't exist..and this is affecting my application updates and purchases.

The problem is that i have 2 apple Id's now and i used on to purchase my macbook pro a few years back and then i created a new one for my new macbook.. i was trying to update my iphoto and imovie but it kept saying i couldnt update it as it was purchased under a different id, and seeing though i cant get into my old account i cant update what i need to. i know the password for the old one as my brother still uses it but it wont work now as hotmail says the email doesnt exist.

Some background info:
Over the course of a decade I have downloaded a lot of songs with a bunch of different accounts. This all started way before home sharing and iCloud and all that jazz. Anyways, I was in middle school, so my songs came off my mom's account (which was a bellsouth email address). Later when we switched to Comcast she started using her Comcast email address and we downloaded songs off of that. Then when we stopped with comcast she started using a new address, and at this point I was able to just buy my own music so I created my own account. I think my sister has one too, which adds to the chaos.
Anyways, now I'm trying to transfer my songs from my iPod to my laptop, and I've figured out most of the account passwords except for one: the bellsouth password. I tried to reset the Apple ID password but when I entered my mother's birthday is told me I was wrong. I tried my siblings', mine, and my father's to see if for some insane reason she didn't use hers, but none of them would be accepted. I then went to the AT&T website and tried to log in to that account so that I could access the account with one of those password change emails, but it wouldn't let me for similar reasons. Basically I'm not sure that that email account even exists anymore.
This is an extremely frustrating issue. The songs have been purchased and paid for; why is it impossible to get them to play? Surely there's an easier way than this nonsense.
