My email is stuck. I replied to an email and now I can't get back to my list do emails. What do I do?

Was checking email on my iPad. Tried to reply to. An email using yahoo. Now the reply email is frozen and I can't use the e mail box for anything.  What do I do?

Try closing the Mail app via the taskbar and see if it works properly when you re-open the app (you may lose the reply/draft) : from the home screen (i.e. not with the Mail app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Mail app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't work also do a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • TS3899 I just installed the latest software update on my iPhone this weekend (9/22/12), and now I can't get email. I've restarted and closed all my apps to no avail. I'm able to get email on my laptop, so it's not a problem with my provider. Any ideas?

Originally we were getting the error that the phone could not connect. Then, after deleting the account multiple times and re-adding it again, the error message CHANGED to having to log in to Yahoo and authorize.
When we went to Yahoo in a regular browser and logged in there was an alert telling us about connection attempts so it disabled mobile/iphone connectivity. It required that we change our password FIRST.
Then, we went in to Manage Apps and Webpages and saw that iPhone was not there but Facebook was.
After all of this went back to the phone and deleted then re-added the account again and SUCCESS!
It now also shows up on the Yahoo Manage Apps and Webpages.
Hope this helps someone else. Please consider giving me points if it does or like the post.

  • I had to change my password for one of my Email addresses and now I can not get mail into Firefox.

I had to change my password for one of my Email accounts ([email protected]) and now I can not get the mail to go into Mozilla Firefox and I don't know how to change the password in Mozilla to get the mail into it.
I looked at how to change my password but the options you told me to use were not available. I clicked on tools then options but there was no sync tab or manage accounts either.

The login.salesforce.com website is using autocomplete=off to prevent Firefox from saving the name and password.
You can remove autocomplete=off with a bookmarklet to make Firefox save the name and password.

I'm going to assume the reason your able to get them at home is because your connected to wifi?
Can you do anything else when connected to cellular data?
Have you contacted your cell phone provider re: the issue.

  • Help!!! I think my email was hacked and now I can't get into it at all. All of the suggestions didn't help so far. I have double clicked, rebooted, and deleted the account. Is there a way that I can have a reset password to an alternate email?

Help, my email was hacked, now I can't get in at all. Can I reset the password through an alternate email?

You do realize that there are many, many email providers and without knowing which one you are talking about, there is no way to answer your question?
Which then leads to this ..... Have you contacted your email provider about this? That's probably the best place to start. See what they recommend.

  • A few months ago when I switched over to icloud from mobile me I set up my icloud with a new email address and now I can't get my calendars to sync with my iphone.  I can't cancel either account-the icloud or mobile me.

Please help!  I have two separate email addresses -my old mobile me and the new icloud and now nothing is syncing with my iphone.  I'm not sure how to get everything back to syncing the way it was before I changed everything over to icloud.

If you really did migrate from MobileMe to iCloud, you would have the same address as before.
It sounds as though you didn't actually migrate from MobileMe to iCloud, you just started up a brand new iCloud account.
You won't be able to access MobileMe now. If you failed to move everything over to iCloud properly, then all the data and the account has been deleted as Apple said it would at the end of July.
To get everything to sync, you need to make sure all your devices and computers are logged into the same iCloud account. Possibly what has happened is some are still using the old (now deleted) MobileMe account and some are using the new iCloud account.

What email app are you using: ios mail or yahoo mail app?  You could try switching your email app.
My yahoo mail app wouldn't accept my password for my id a few days ago.  I have not sorted it out yet.  Happened after I download a new version of the yahoo app.  Waiting for a new version of the app.  Reading my mail on my laptop instead.

  • My iphone 3gs won't allow me to enter my email password.  The acct is all greyed out in the settings menu and now I can't get email.  I restored the phone through iTunes and did a hard reboot but nothing helped!!

I changed the password on my Yahoo mail account and now the phone will not let me enter the new password.  The mail account is greyed out in the settings menu.

Try deleting the account and set up a new one. Also make sure to not sync the phone with old email settings.

  • HT5312 i didn't give a rescue email address when i first made my account and now i can't figure out how to make one

i didnt make a rescue email address straight away and now i cant figure out how to make one

There are instructions for how to do edit or delete it (and you can add one via the same process) half-way down the page that you posted from :
You can edit or delete your rescue email address using the Apple ID website. To edit your rescue email address:
Navigate to appleid.apple.com using your web browser.
    Click "Manage your account"
When prompted, sign in using your Apple ID and password.
    Click Password & Security
You'll be asked to answer 2 of your 3 security questions before you can make any modifications. If you are unable to remember your answers, you can choose to send an email to your rescue email to reset your security questions.
After you've validated your identity by correctly answering your security questions, click Edit to the right of your rescue email address.
Once you've finished editing your rescue email address, click the Save button directly below the email field.

  • My email was hacked and now I can't get to my iTunes I think it was hacked to

One of my email address was hacked. When I discovered this setout to change all my passwords and when I tried access my iTunes account associated with this email the Password had changed. Not sure if maybe my wife didn't change it already I went in to I forgot my Password link and when I attempted to answer questions it appears that they changed my birthday, so of course that didn't work. I then attempted to ask for an email to be sent so I could change password it has been over an hour and I still have not recieved the email.
I don't think I had a credit card associated with this account so I think I am ok. But I am fairly certian I have some purchases associated with this account and want to at least insure I have all of these.
Is there a way to either get access back or kill this account so I can insure that My reputation isn't damged by some full with nothing better to do with his life.

Try contacting Apple through Express Lane (select your country, navigate to iCloud help and enter the serial number of one of your devices)

  • I recently updraded the oporating system on my 4S phone and now I can't get my email.  I've rebooted several times to no avail. What should I do to get this thing working again?

I recently upgraded my phone software to iOS 6 and now my email will not download.  I have tried to reboot the phone to no avail.  Anyone have any suggestions as to how I can get this phone working again?

You can't merge the backups, you'll have to delete the backup of your old phone.  If it says it's currently in use when you try, that will normally clear up on its own but may take 3-5 days to do so.  Give it a few days and try deleting the old backup again.
In the meantime, you can create a manual backup of your new phone on your computer by connecting it to your computer, opening iTunes, clicking on the name of your phone in iTuens, going to the Summary tab of your iTunes sync settings and clicking Back Up Now.  Also go to File>Devices>Transfer Purchases.  Then you'll be safe until you can start backup up to iCloud again.

  • I went to Firefox reset and now I can't get into my email.

I downloaded a Firefox update and then my Mozilla Firefox would not work properly. So I hit Frefox reset button and now all I get when I click on the MF icon is the basic starter page. I can't get my email page.

First of all you will need to know the address of your webmail. Can you search for that in your bookmarks or History.
You could probably even find the logon page simply by typing your email address into a google search.
If the problem is that you know the address but you are unable to login try clearing the cookies for that site and reloading using keyboard shortcut Ctrl+F5
*[[Firefox can't load websites but other browsers can]]
Presumably you have tried with IE and that allows access to the webmail.

    Hello Kfswift,
Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing with iMessage on your iPad.  I recommend the following steps for the issue you described:
To resolve issues with sending and receiving iMessages, follow these steps first
Check iMessage system status for current service issues.
Go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive and make sure that you have registered iMessage with your phone number or Apple ID and that you have selected iMessage for use. Learn more abouttroubleshooting iMessage registration if the phone number or Apple ID isn't available for use.
Open Safari and navigate to www.apple.com to verify data connectivity. Learn more about troubleshootingcellular data or a Wi-Fi connection if a data connection isn't available.
iMessage over cellular data might not be available while on a call. Only 3G and faster GSM networks support simultaneous data and voice calls. Learn more about which network your phone supports. Go to Settings > Wi-Fi and turn Wi-Fi on to use iMessage while on a call if your network doesn't support simultaneous data and voice calls.
    Restart your device.
Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings on your iPhone.
If you are still unable to send or receive an iMessage, follow these steps
Make sure that the contact trying to message you isn't blocked in Settings > Messages > Blocked.
Verify that the contact you are attempting to send a message to is registered with iMessage.
If the issue occurs with a specific contact or contacts, back up orforward important messages and delete your current messaging threads with the contact. Create a new message to the contact and try again.
If the issue occurs with a specific contact or contacts, delete and re-create the contact in the Contacts application. Create a new message to the newly created contact and try again.
Back up and restore your device as new.
