last summer my email list was ttolen by spammers for their own use-i feel like i have been violated and it is embarrassing to say the least-i deleted my entire email list at that time and started out fresh with a much smaller list-this too has now been stolen-i have used the same password for a decade and would not like to lose it--it this the only option available to me to stop the spammers??? thank you bob y
They don't need the Hotmail address to do anything - they will have set up a password with this ID when they created it.
What you should do is go to http://appleid.apple.com and click 'Reset password'. Sign in with the Hotmail address. The new password will be emailed to the Hotmail address (which you have changed the password on so it shouldn't be accessible).
The log in at http://appleid.apple.com with this address and password, and change the Hotmail address to something else, such as a free GMail address. You should also change the password to something strong. This should lock the malefactor out of the ID.
Otherwise, you aren't talking to Apple here, so if you continue to have issues you need to contact Support: https://expresslane.apple.com

If you are going to change your AppleID login you will need to log out and back in on all your devices. Turn off 'Find My iPhone/iMac/iPod' first or you will find yourself unable to sign out and be stuck.

I am trying to change my apple pass word? I know my Password but when I am trying to change it, it asks for me to answer 2 questions and I have no idea what I put as the answer? there is a button for sending out an Email to help but the Email listed is an old work account and is no longer in use. Can some one help me either change the password or change the old Email address to one that is use?

I purchased an iPod shuffle for my niece and nephew last year for Christmas. My nephew's has come up missing and I have strong reason to believe it was stolen. Amazon cannot give me the serial number and I used my iTunes to put music on it initially. Is there a place I can find the serial number on my iTunes and can it be tracked to different computers if someone else is using it? My nephew no longer has the packaging.

2. Leave a telephone number for him/her to contact you
3. Hope he or she will call you. If it is stolen, he or she is unlikely to call you.

My iPhone was stolen. I used Find My iPhone app to lock it and display a message. The phone has not connected to the internet to locate it. I contacted the police and they have taken my meid number. How does this work and what are my chances of getting the phone back? Are there other ways the theif can use it. I was told once they put in a new sim card and use it, whatever software the police have, it will show up.
Honestly? In the US (I can't speak to other countries, though I doubt it works much differently in a lot of the world) The police took your report and filed it either in their computers or, on paper. They will now not think of this again. The only time it will cross anyones mind is if, in the course of entering information into evidence about items recovered or seized at a crime scene, the serial number of an iPhone that was found/seized happens to match yours, in which case you will be contacted.
The police in the US can and will do nothing to 'blok' the phone and it's not worth their time to try and locate it unless you know for a fact that it was stolen by a big time drug lord, master criminal, or some other such prime target and they can get a court order to track the location of the phone in order to locate this individual for your own purposes. If they do that, they'll probably keep him under surveilance for a year or so before they act.
Basically, the police don't care about your phone. If they find it, they will give it back to you. They are not, however, going to go looking for it. They have better things to do.

IMac was stolen, not sure if find my Mac was turned on
My imac was stolen. I use icloud on it, but I'm not sure if the find my mac app was turned on. I logged into iCloud, and clicked on find my iphone. My imac is listed on there, but it says it is offline. I marked for it to notified me when it is online. My question is: Can I assume that the app is turned on since it showed up in my list of devices under Find My iPhone, or does it list all devices connect through iCloud?

My MacBook Pro was stolen last night. I need the serial number. It is not showing up on my devices list. My iPads and iPhones are. I have used it to to sync my phones and pads as well having it registered with apple. Any thoughts? Thanks

SIgn in with your Apple ID, the same one you used to access this support forum.
Hopefully, you will see a list of all the devices you registered with your Apple ID, including their serial numbers. Let me know how this works out.
Edit to add: If you enabled "find my imac" on your Pro, you ought to be able to remotely lock it, or even wipe its memory. Click http://www.icloud.com/ sign in with your Apple ID and click the big green "find my iPhone" icon (nevermind the name, it will find all your devices provided they're running Lion or iOS 5).
Then file a police report and nail the b*****d. -
I am trying to use the locate my macbook that was stolen. How do I know if it is set up on the service. It shows on the list but just says it is offline and doesn't say when or where it last was. I am trying to either locate it or erase it. HELP
Since you can see it in your device list it must have Find My Mac activated, but you're going to have to wait for them to take it online in order to either locate, lock or wipe it. Until it goes online you can't do anything. http://www.apple.com/support/icloud/find-my-device/

In my email auto fill it lists addresses I haven't used in 2 years as "recent others". What causes this, the contact information for these people was deleted some time ago.
Mail, Window Menu, Previous Recipients.
Select the ones you don't want and delete them.

If he Registered his mac in his icloud account and said yes to "Find my mac" than he can go to icloud.com, log-in, and than click find my mac. His mac can then be located.

I have a similar problem. I recieved an IPAD for my birthday, and my daughter updated my itunes library so i can use it with the ipad...and somehow all my songs (unpurchased from itunes, and downloaded from a large collection of CDs) ...and play lists were deleted. I still have them on my old ipod, and wonder how to get them back onto my computer so I can redistribute some of them to the ipad. I must be getting too old for this tech stuff, it gets less user friendly every year.
