My email name is different when I receive emails

When I am receiving emails, it no longer has my name in the TO line, it now says Holidays in United State. I think it has something to do with Calendars but I can't figure it out???? It use to have my name in the TO line....

It sounds like the settings for your email account have been changed. On your Mac, you can edit the Full Name field to include your first and last name.
I've highlighted a section of an article that will show you how to access the settings for the email account you need to edit.

In Mail select Mail > Preferences.
Click the Accounts tab.
Select the account for which you wish to change the settings.
Click the Account Information tab.
Change the information in the Full Name field.
Close the Mail preferences to save your settings.

Here is my code and what is strange, there are incoming mails (I see them at upper corner and at inboxes) with zero recipients, giving me the message below. So I will give up and change ,at Outlook accounts configuration ",display names"
to the valid address names (ie Instead Manuel Costa I will put

If you suspect unauthorized access to your apple ID I would normally recommend resetting your password, but you have already done this.

Problem not solved. I just received an new email from the person involved. Same misspelled name in the "From" field. I did as Paul_31 suggested and then quit and restarted mail.

Mail to: line change to a a name other than mine when mail received

When I receive mail from a certain source the to: address line changes from my name to someone else in my contact list. The email address is still mine, but a different name is associated with it. I cannot find that name associated with that email address anywhere in my contact or email list.

Meanwhile, in addition to what V.K. said, I'd take a look at Mail/Window/Previous Recipients and clean them all out in case they are contributing the the confusion with auto-fill (this will also stop errors of mail using old email address for people who have changed their address).

What did the errors say? Can you post a copy of the pdf so we can test out. The presets embed the font, but might be a unicode issue, or one of the few fonts which are copyrighted and do not allow embedding.
What application was the pdf was created from, what settings were used, and if you can outline the fonts. What font or font(s) are the ones reflowing?

Could mean that you have three different contact entries with the same phone number.

Old name shows when I receive mail

I am using POP with gmail on my Macbook running snow leopard. I changed my account email name since I got divorced, changed my business name... but the old company name still shows up when I receive mail, as well as my ex' name. I can't figure it out and I tried searching the forum and google. I don't have those names anywhere in the apple mail settings or at google. I am talking about the "To:" line displayed name. Where is apple mail pulling this info from???

I figured it out. It pulls it from the address book. I haven't used the address book in a long time. I use filemaker pro for contacts, so I forgot that it is even there. I edited the name there, and it changed it in mail as well.

It sounds like no matter what contact you put into the 'To' field, a different name appears, but the email makes it to the intended recipient. I would recommend a few things here. First, close all the open apps on the device:
iOS: Force an app to close

Double-click the Home button.
Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.
Swipe the app up to close it.
When you have done that restart the phone:
iOS: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting

When i receive emails they are deleted and i do not know why

I have an IPad Air version 7.1.2 and model MD787LL/A and it has 56.6 gb. When i receive emails the automatically delete themselves and i cannot figure out how to stop this. Can anyone help me with this please.

If you're using an IMAP account, also check your other devices to be sure you don't have some filters or rules set up that either delete or move emails to subfolders. You can see all Emails on your iPad, but displaying the sidebar showing Mailboxes, tapping the email account you are having trouble with (NOT the Inbox, but the section below), then tapping All Mail or something similar depending on your provider.
If the mails are there, they are somehow being moved by one of your mail clients or by a rule you set up with your provider.

I use the mobileme sync services so the ical calendars that are synced are those in the "[email protected]" group.

Actually you can't drag the appointment to ano calendar - its says "You can’t make changes to this invitation., Only the organiser can change this event"
Also if you double click on the received appointment and open the window the only calendars shown that you can select are the 'on my mac" ones, and not the sync'd ones.
Any ideas welcome !!

The names of my contacts are not showing up when I receive text messages, only the number is showing up. How can I fix this?

This is a HUGE iOS bug.. Following a tip from another poster, I was able to fix the issue (temporarily).
This worked for me on Verizon.
I dialed *228 on my Verizon phone. I pressed "1" to activate it over the air. I then went into task manager and killed all the running apps.. Waited a few minutes.
The next text I got displayed the number correctly!.. Until I rebooted, that is.
PLEASE, call Apple and speak with a senior engineer on this. They can't fix it if they don't know it's a problem! (800) MY-IPHONE
