My email no longer shows as unread when it comes in. How do I get it to do that?
OOn my iPhone5 and my iPad2 (both iOS 8.1.2), my email no longer is marked "unread" when it first comes in. what do I need to do to make it do that?
Goto the multitasking view and close the mail app. Closing and reopening the mail app should get rid of the problem. Jope it helps

What kind of email account do you have. The behavior you describe is the way a POP account will behave,. Reading the mail on one device marks it Read on that device only.
But if you have an IMAP account, reading the mail on one should should transfer down so it shows as Read on all devices. -
When I read an email on my iPad it remains unread on my macbook. How do I get it to "read" the e-mail on both?
I ahve this problem too, my macbook is set up as an imap account for gmail, say I get an email and it shows as new in my gmail, iphone and macbook, and I then read it in my gmail, it is marked read on my iphone but stays as unread on my macbook.
This is really annoying as if I read emails during the day on another computer I can come back to them all being new on the macbook.

My emails no longer show up unless I go to the mail app manually. Never had a problem before this. Help! I have shut off phone I have tried to change the time for how long the mail will show up but nothing is working
Do you mean you don't get notified of new emails automatically (eg. on the Lock Screen)? This could be because this function is turned off in Settings > Notifications. It could also be that the email account you use is having problems with its PUSH service, if it offers one.

Somehow my iPad got switched for messaging to showing from my email. There is no option showing to use my phone number. How do I get it back to my phone number? This happened when I upgraded my iPhone today, but the iPhone messaging is using the phone number fine. It's only the iPad messaging that is messed up. Help, pls.

Sorry to hear you are having a similar problem. Last night I went to the tool bar at the top of iphoto, clicked on "File", then clicked "Browse Backups" in the drop down menu. I have an external hard drive that is set up to Time Machine. The Browse Backups opened the iphoto pages in the Time Machine. I selected a date one day ahead of the day I performed the now infamous update, and it showed my iphoto library as it had existed that day. I then clicked "Restore Library" at the bottom right corner of the Time Machine screen. Roughly 2 hours later my iphoto was back to normal. When I opened iphoto there was a message saying I need to upgrade my program to be compatible with the new version of iphoto(version 9.2.1). I clicked "Upgrade" and within seconds it had done whatever upgrading it needed to do.
The only glitch in the restoration was that it restored the library as it appeared last week, so I no longer had photos I had imported this past weekend. I simply went back to the Browse Backups in the drop down menu, when Time Machine opened I selected the page showing my pictures from this weekend and again said to Restore Library. Roughly 45 minutes later the library was restored including the most recent photos.
I am now a happy camper.
I don't know if any of this will be of help to you because your email says you are having trouble with photos imported after the upgrade was performed. Have you had any pop up notices when you first open iphoto, that tell you you need an upgrade to be compatible with the new iphoto? If so have you clicked "upgrade"?
Good luck Liz, if you have Time Machine running as a back up to your library, maybe you wil be able to get help there, by following my instructions above. Otherwise, good luck with your investigations. I'd be interested in hearing how you make out.

.Apple sent me an email saying it was available but when I try to donwload it I get a message saying I already did. I checked the store menu and it indicated that there is nothing available to download. I don't have the songs or the album showing in Itunes anywhere. Not sure what to do.

Make sure that your Apple ID is your email address and you do not have any other or old IDs associated with you. Go to www.appleid.apple.com and confirm this info. Make sure that the email address you are trying to sign up with is your primary one.

I tried to save a video to IPhoto, and then when I tried to open IPhoto it told me I can't open the application because classic environment is no longer supported. What does this mean, and how do I get back all my photos and fix this? thanks.
With the amount of information you've provided it's impossible to offer a potential solution. We can't see your computer so we need to know some details of your problem and setup, i.e.:
what version of iPhoto are you using?
what system version are you running?
what fixes have you tried?
where is you library located?
did you apply any updates or upgrades just prior to the problem occurring?
are you running a "managed" or "referenced" library?
what type of Mac?
how much free space on your boot drive?

When you first download Pages, there is a welcome screen with a check mark, in a box, at the bottom left corner that says show this window when Pages opens. How do I recheck that box?

I had an episode of a tv show series on my IPOD NANO 8GB. I just bought a new episode of the tv show and I went to put it on my IPOD NANO 8GB and it removed the first episode off my IPOD NANO 8GB. Now, all I have is the new episode of the tv show on my ipod and I can't get the other back on there. Double check your iPod's sync settings from under it's TV Shows tab in iTunes. Make sure it is not set up to sync only unwatched episodes.

I did the latest update and lost all my apps. It was not synced before the restore. How can I get my apps back that I paid a lot of money for? They are not showing up as purchased. When I go to the apps I know I purchased it does not show that it was purchased or installed ? Can I get those previously purchased back without paying for them again?
As long as there is not another instance of that app on the device, you should. Just keep in mind, that as apps require updating, you'll have to sign in with different id's to update. Depending on how many apps and overall content is installed on your device, this could become confusing.

How do I get my old contacts that were last synced on my ITunes account through my laptop (USB) to my new iPad ? I no longer have a laptop just my iPad mini.
So the contacts were synced to the computer you no longer have? You could use a free app like MCBackup and email the contacts from the ipad to yourself and open the email on your phone and then import the contacts from the email to the phone

iPad running iOS 5 has on the menu bar only have 4 icons, being: back, forward, bookmarks, and the "add to bookmarks", but is missing an icon after the "add to bookmarks" arrow, that is a "show all open browser windows" icon. How do I get it in my safari?
What you are seeing is how Safari works now in iOS 5. There is no way to get that icon in Safari now. There other much better browsers available in the App Store. Look at iCab Mobile, Mercury, Atomic, ....
I have been running iOS 5x for so long now, that I don't even remember if that icon did appear in earlier iOS versions
