My emails are blocked/rejected by Hotmail

I just started getting the following from emails sent to a couple of friends that I email often:
Your message cannot be delivered to the following recipients:
  Recipient address: [email protected]
  Reason: Server rejected MAIL FROM address.
  Diagnostic code: smtp;550 SC-004 Mail rejected by Windows Live Hotmail for policy reasons. A block has been placed against your IP address because we have received complaints concerning mail coming from that IP address. If you are not an email/network admin please contact

You could get Verizon to try and fix it for you or if you don't have a week or so to wait disconnect your router for a while and see if you can get a new IP address that is not in the range 206.46.173.x
The block is against the ip of Verizon's mail server, not your ip address. You can contact Verizon and let them know that this is going on, but it will ultimately be up to Microsoft to remove the block. Microsoft has a "whitelist" form that you can fill out that would help them get the un-block process rolling. (This has happened in the past, see this post.)
To get to the form:
1. Go to http://postmaster.live.com - You will land on the “Windows Live Hotmail Postmaster Services” page.  
2. Click on “My e-mail is being blocked by Windows Live Hotmail or is being sent directly to the junk e-mail fold...”.  You will land on the “Troubleshooting” page.  To access the support e-Form, scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the “here” link-text within this phrase: “If your e-mail complies with our service guidelines and you are still experiencing e-mail delivery problems that are not addressed in our FAQ, click here to contact support.”

  • Emails are Blocked from domains which are added to "BypassedSenderDomains" in Exchange 2007 Edge server

    Hi,
    We have an Exchange server 2007 and an Edge server 2007 is configured in the perimeter network. Most of our clients use Public email domains such as Yahoo and Gmail. Last few weeks it has been a  major issue for us that most of the emails from Yahoo/Gmail
    get blocked by our Edge server calming the sender IP address is in Block Lists.
    As a solution I've added yahoo.com/gmail.com/aol.com/hotmail.com to "BypassedSenderDomains" hoping if emails receive from one of these domains it will bypass the connection filtering. But still some of our customers complain that their emails are
    still not passing to us and blocked by our edge server. They have provided me the error message they receive.
    Our clients get following error message
    edgexch gave this error: Recipient not authorized, your IP has been found on a block list
    Your message wasn't delivered due to a permission or security issue. It may have been rejected by a moderator, the address may only accept e-mail from certain senders, or another restriction
    may be preventing delivery.

    When I check the Agent logs in Edge server  I found specific email had been blocked. Please check one of the log entry.

    This troubles me because I've added Yahoo.com to "BypassedSenderDomains" on 1/28/2014 and this email was blocked on 1/30/2014. I've checked whole Agent logs from 28th to-date and found most of the messages from white-listed domains  bypassed
    the content filtering but some were  still getting blocked. Most of the messages from white-listed domains were blocked from "bl.spamcop.net " IP block list provider.
    As a solution for the current situation I've disabled "bl.spamcop.net" from the "IP block List Providers". But the issue is, why the mails are getting blocked even the domains were white-listed. I though after white-listing emails domains,
    messages will bypass the content filters if the email generates from one of the white-listed email domain.
    I've also added the "Content Filter Config" for your reference.

    Here is a similar issue someone with Exchange 2010 -

    the IP Block List Providers.  See if that will work as a solution for you.

  • Since changing to os5, some of my emails are being rejected by trend micro software

    Since I have strated using os5, i have noted that some emails that i send from the phone are being rejected by Trend Micro Systems Anti Virus softeware.
    These are the same email adresses that used previously with out an issue before the upgrade.

    OK, I did the following:
    I read and then deleted ALL the messages waiting for me at the Tiscali server using their webmail option.
    This left my Tiscali in box completely empty.
    To be on the safe side, I deleted all my Email Accounts on my Mac and loaded just one, the [email protected] - i.e. my Tiscali email address. I also reset and then changed the password.
    I then got Tiscali tech support to reset my mailbox.
    I then crossed my fingers!
    I then sent myself a number of test emails, some from the Tiscali server webmail option, some from my PC laptop and some from Mail on my beloved Mac.
    I can now confirm that I can send emails from my Mac using Mail but cannot download any. All that happens when I click "Get Mail" on Mail is that the program looks at the pop3 mail server at Tiscali but doesn't see the test emails that are waiting there for me to download.
    Any suggestions???

    Hi, Im new to Blackberrys and have a problem. Several users in my company use personal Blackberrys BIS. They have been setup using exchange forwarding etc ok. They can receive emails but they cannot send emails from their BB to work collegues...its getting rejected due to the emails appearing as spoofing. Ive trawled the web and cannt find a clear answer to this. Can anyone help?

    It could be that the your work router/network is blocking those sites. Some work networks do block some sites.
    You can also try another browser like the Chrome browser available from the App store.

    I am trying to enter the following email address into the blocked address list

    However, I get an error message on the Verizon page saying You have entered an invalid email.
    I have newsmax.com entered but the emails are still coming through.  What is the correct format?

    I just did a copy and paste of the address you posted and the webmail blocking took it just fine.

    What's  about the mail ?

    If the messages are brown, mark them as not junk. Your ISP could also be flagging them as junk. You could try writing a rule for her address and then tell it to go to the inbox.

  • Emails being blocked for name space mining

    Once of our clients email domain is blocked by Microsoft because it detected a name space mining attack coming from the public IP assigned to the client.
    We have already reported this to MS support but without any luck. All they sent are a generic script based answer asking us to rectify the issue from our end but based on the information I have I’m not sure if we can get this rectified on our end.
    Basically all this started when the client sent a mass email. They have been sending this mass email for the last 2-3 years but one this instance emails to several Hotmail users were not getting delivered and following is the start of the email delivery

    After the last of the line then the client exchange server has tried every 2 minutes for the next 2 days and eventually failed because MS blocked the IP addresses.
    Microsoft is not providing us any information and asking us to repeatedly to resolve the issue at our end but I don’t know why the exchange server never managed to deliver the email messages because all those Hotmail email addresses are legitimate and live
    email addresses.
    What does BDAT * LAST means? This is the last SMTP command sent/received before client s exchange server started a new communication attempt.
    What are the changes that we can do to the client server in order to avoid similar issues in the future?

  • Legit email senders blocked as spam

    I am having a consistent and very irritating problem that legitimate email senders are getting their emails bounced back as spam. Every time, I have to file a whitelist report and they do the same. Sometimes this takes days to resolve. Just today, someone who was successfully whitelisted two or three weeks ago is not getting blocked AGAIN.
    Why are LEGITIMATE and consistent emails being blocked?  I am still getting real spam by the way, which Verizon is not blocking. I get hundreds of emails a day and I will have to change providers if this continues to be a consistent problem.
    The tech support people in India -- after spending a couple of hours on the phone -- just tell me to fill out the whitelist report.
    I need a higher level solution.  ASAP.

    Maybe try a whitelist?
