My eos 500D wont take photos unless set to manual, and AI set to servo.. help!

hi all. my camera wont take pics any more in automatic mode, or in manual mode unless i have the AI set to servo. it will still shoot video, and take pics from within that mode. the problem is the same with all lenses. does anyone have any ideas??

You tried all the simple stuff? New battery, reset the camera, different lenses, made sure the lens are in AF, etc?
That is not a good sign.
If you did, have a shop look at it.

Are you restoring the iPod from a previous back or to factory settings? If you haven't restored to factory settings yet, I would do that next. And if the problem still continues, it's most likely hardware related, in which case you'll want to schedule an appointment at your local Apple Store/Genius Bar to have them take a look at it.

something about permissions comes up sometimes... but not even all the times

What version of iPhoto?
As a Test:
Hold down the option (or alt) key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there?

Imported photos appear in wrong event, and won't open. Help!

I have a large photo collection (15,000 pics), and have recently been having problems with iPhoto. Today, I imported 60 photos from an SD card. I deleted them from the card when prompted - but now I have the following problems in iPhoto;
The event displays correctly, and a single thumbnail shows. When I open the event, there are no photos in the event.
I eventually found them in an event dated 2000. I can see them as a thumbnail, but when I double click a pic, a picture from 2000 opens instead.
This happened to me about 2 weeks ago, but when I tried to close iPhoto, I got a notification of a problem (Can't remember the exact wording) and iPhoto informed me that it had to fix the problem. Upon reopening, the photos displayed correctly.
Is there any way to rescan for photos? Any ideas? Thanks.
I'm using iPhoto 9.3.2 on a 2011 MacBook Pro with OSX 10.7.4

Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

Each time I attempt to attach a photo to a text message the imessage App shuts down.
I can only send a photo in a test message by selecting the photo first. What is the problem and solution.

As long as your phone is covered by the warranty, hardware issues are covered as well and you don't have to pay for getting the phone serviced, unless you caused the hardware failure by dropping the phone, for example.
If you have a case around the phone, did you try to take it off and see if the focus works after that?

Drag them from where you downloaded them (Like the Downloads folder) and drop them on the iPhoto icon in the dock (little camera with the sunset behind it).
When you drag and drop an image on the iPhoto icon it imports that picture (or many pictures if you drag more than one at once).

When I open up photo booth, it just freezes and then lags. Need Help!!

Ever since I upgraded to Lion, my photobooth freezes upon opening. It's begining to really annoying. Is there anything I can do to fix this?

(1) First, restart your Mac and test again. If the problem remains:
• Use the  > Software Update... menu command to be sure
    your Apple software is up to date. Then test PB again.
    If your Mac still does not work correctly, continue.
• Use Disk Utility to repair permissions and then
   download and apply the 10.7.2 Combo Update:
     http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1459
• Repair permissions again immediately following the system restart
   that completes the Combo update.
Properly applying the Combo version of updates sometimes
corrects strange problems. If not, try (2) below.
(2) This takes longer, but it may be necessary to correct the problem.

• First try using Lion Recovery to repair your disk. Then test again.
• If repair does not correct the trouble, your initial Lion install may have
been faulty. You will need to reinstall Lion to correct a faulty installation.

does not show version 10.7.2, Mac apply the Combo update again as above.
After you have reinstalled and updated Lion, do NOT reinstall any third party

Tell iphoto to view photos from a predefined folder and not copy them

Hi!
I am using iphoto 09 and was wondering if we can tell iphoto to take photos from a particular folder and not copy the photos in its own set of folders. I don't want to have duplicates.
I already had structured my folders in a certain way and I don't want Iphoto copying them again.

Best way of working: Recreate your folders in the iPhoto Window and forget about your own.

I had my photo stream on and my icloud all set up, i just had the screen replaced and they somehow lost all the photos off my phone, but why wont the photo's reload back on to my iphone now that im connected to wifi again, where are all my photos???

When photos are added to the photo stream album on a device (either due to a new photo having been taken or having been synced from another device using the stream) they remain in the album. However, the syncing process involves copying the photos to the photo stream server where they are kept for a maximum of 30 days, up to 1000 photos. If a device is reset or the stream is turned off or turned back on again (or in your case, the device was repaired), the photos that were on the device's photo stream album are gone and the only ones to appear are those that are currently on the servers (recall the 30 day limit).
If some of your photos are older than 30 days, then they are no longer stored on the cloud and hence are not synced down to the iphone.
Recall, photo stream is just a syncing service, it is not designed as a storage service for photos. Always sync photos to a computer for archiving.
