My Equium A210 won't load up after it powers up

Hi,
Last night my Equium A210 17I switched itself off during use. Despite several attempts to reboot, it just won't start. When I turn it on I get the message ' Windows is loading files'. This goes on for a couple of minutes, then the following information appears on the screen....
*Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. To fix the problem:
1. Insert your windows installation disc and restart your computer.
2. Choose your language settings, and click "Next"
3. Click "Repair your computer"
If you do not have this disc, contact your system administrator or computer manufacturer for assistance.

Info: The selected entry could not be loaded because the application is missing or corrupt.*
I never received an installation disc with my laptop , which I purchased from PC World about 2 years ago. Can I buy one ?

Hmm. maybe you didnt receive the Recovery disk because the recover disk could be created using the preinstalled Toshiba Recovery Disk Creator
I assume you have never checked your user manual. Im right?

Equium A210-1C4: Winload.exe problem after using product recovery disk

I Could really do with some help here. I have a Toshiba Equium A210-1C4 Laptop. Partitioned drive with Vista home premium service pack 4.0.
Last night I used the product recovery disk supllied with the laptop to try and restore it back to its factory settings.
and the end of the process I'm left with a cmd prompt box with X:\windows\system32\cmd.exe in the blue top bit stating:
Error: imageX could not apply vista F:\05993xsp.swm Index 2 from ODD to C:\!
Press any key to continue. That box dissappears then another one with Administrator: X:\windows\system32\cmd.exe in the blue top bit stating:
waiting for ODD to become available...
ODD Drive F: ready.
check for medium in drive F:...
Failed to initialise the raid class.
No RAID - continue normally...
X:\windows\system32>
Now whenever the laptop tries to restart it just comes up with the error message:
WINDOWS FAILED TO START. A RECENT HARDWARE OR SOFTWARE CHANGE MIGHT BE THE
CAUSE
FILE: \WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\WINLOAD.EXE
STATUS: 0XC000000E
INFO: THE SELECTED ENTRY COULD NOT BE LOADED BECAUSE THE APPLICATION
IS MISSING OR CORRUPT
Below I then have the option to esc or continue both with the same outcome of system trying to restart.
The recovery disk has no repair option on it.
please help, I haven't a clue.

It looks like something went wrong during the Recovery procedure.
Did you try to recover the notebook once again?
If not you should definitely try this!
You are right; the recovery disk hasnt a option for repair because the recovery disk is not the same like a MS Vista disk. The Recovery disk contains the image files (its a package) and the files contains the Vista, Toshiba drivers, tools and additional software.
Therefore if something went wring during the recovery procedure, you will be not able to repair the OS installation but you have to run it again.

Firefox won't load, even after reinstalling 9. This suddenly happened last week. it tells me there is an error loading the page. This only happens on this particular computer and no settings have knowingly been changed

About a week or two ago, Firefox stopped loading. It tells us that the page in unavailable. This only happens on our home computer which is a Dell running Windows XP. I think this happened after we upgraded. Today, I tried reinstalling Firefox and it still tells us that the site is unavailable. (Windows Explorer also tried to block the download). I cannot figure out where to look on the computer for programs that might be blocking access.

I have decided to dedicate this thread to the wonderful errors of Lion OSX. Each time I find a huge problem with Lion I will make note of it here.
Today I discovered a new treasure of doggie poop in Lion. No Save As......
I repeat. No Save As. In text editor I couldn't save the file with a new extension. I finally accomplished this oh so majorly difficult task (because we all know how difficult it should be to save a file with a new extension) by pressing duplicate and then saving a copy of the file with a new extension. Yet then I had to delete the first copy and send it to trash. And of course then I have to secure empty trash because if I have to do this the rest of my mac's life I will be taking up a quarter of percentage of space with duplicate files. So this is the real reason they got rid of Save As: so that it would garble up some extra GB on the ole hard disk.
So about 20 minutes of my time were wasted while doing my homework and studying for an exam because I had to look up "how to save a file with a new extension in mac Lion" and then wasted time sitting here and ranting on this forum until someone over at Apple wakes up from their OSX-coma.
are you freaking kidding me Apple? I mean REALLY?!!!! who the heck designed this?!!! I want to know. I want his or her name and I want to sit down with them and have a long chat. and then I'd probably splash cold water on their face to wake them up.

I tried sending my project the way you said. I got the message that it would take about 15 minutes to do this. Then the program quit again. No 30 seconds after I tried to send it.
I just spoke with a tech from Apple and he say there is a glitch in my project. He had me try to send a different project using Quick Time and it went right through. He say I will have to build a whole me project and I'll just have to hope it doesn't have a glitch in it. Not what I wanted to here, I have a lot of hours in this project.

Firefox won't load pages after a while when viewing tumblr.

In both versions 6 and 7 if I'm looking at Tumblr or any site that has any java or flash, after a few minutes pages will not load. I've disabled all add-ons and plug-ins but the behavior is the same. I've reverted to using version 5.0 and everything works fine.

The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information.

To Reset Firefox do the following:
#Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
#Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
#Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
#Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.

Won't load pages after restart

When Safari 5.0 crashes or I close it, it often takes up to several minutes for web pages to load after i restart it. I can try to load several pages at a time, and none of them work until all of a sudden they all load, as if Safari isn't connected to the internet until a while after it's restarted (the internet connection is not affected in other programs).
Has anyone else seen this?

Since Safari is crashing post a crash report so we can try and help.
If Safari has just crashed, press the Report button on the CrashReporter dialog box to view the crash information.
Now *copy/paste the entire contents* of the Crash Reporter window into your reply here. If the crash report dialog does not appear or the crash is hard to reproduce, crash logs can be retrieved from the ~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter> folder.

Images won't load properly after reset

I am running Firefox 22.0. I received a message from Mozilla that Firefox was running slow and should be reset. After the reset, some images will load but not all images will load. Gmail, Amazon, and the Mozilla pages are missing images. I have tried updating plugins, re-loading Java, ActiveX and 4.0 full .net Framework. Nothing has corrected my problem.

Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache. In order to try to fix these problems, the first step is to clear both cookies and the cache.
Note: ''This will temporarily log you out of all sites you're logged in to.''
To clear cache and cookies do the following:
#Go to Firefox > History > Clear recent history or (if no Firefox button is shown) go to Tools > Clear recent history.
#Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
#Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.
#From the details list, check ''Cache'' and ''Cookies'' and uncheck everything else.
#Now click the ''Clear now'' button.

Equium L20 won`t load Windows

Got problems with my Daughters` Equium L20-198 - it starts off in the screen with safe mode/start windows normally then if i press enter the windows XP starting screen comes up for a few seconds then flashes quickly onto a light blue screen with text that I can`t read because it then turns off - starts up again on its own and continually goes through the same things.
We`ve got a recovery disc but using that would erase all the files?

Yes, it will earese the whole HDD because its necessary to restore factory settings from recovery disk properly so if you have important files on HDD you should do a backup before using the disk.
In forum are a lot of threads how to backup data without starting Windows system. One example is buying an external HDD where you can put in the notebook HDD to back up the data on another computer.
After this you can start with recovery installation. Its very easy, just follow the screen instructions. :)

My wife's computer's CPU fan quit working so she bought a new one and installed it just now. She turned the compuer on and it says "Windows failed to Start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause."If Windows files have been damaged or configured incorrectly, start up repair can help diagnose and repair the problem. If power was interrupted during start up, close Windows normally." The choses are "Launch repair" or "Start Windows normally." When she chooses either of those, the computer shuts down. If she tries to perform a system recovery, the computer shuts down. She tried loading BIOS defaults (as was suggested on other websites), it had no affect.

You’re having a problem with the computer not booting after replacing the cooling fan.
First I’d make sure that the cable did not come disconnected from the hard drive.
Boot the computer into diagnostics by tapping F2 at startup and run the hard disk test.
If diagnostics passes try to boot the computer into safe mode by tapping F8 at startup.
If you’re able to load into windows you might have to run the recovery.

Equium A210-1C4 - Using Recovery DVD after replacing hard drive

My laptops hard drive failed last year and had to be replaced. Vista was installed by the repairer.
However I now want to restore the system back to default.
Will my Toshiba Recovery Disc which I recieved with my PC still word despite the fact the hard drive is different? How can I tell?

This software is not known to me so I cannot say anything about that but why you dont backup just single files which are important for you?
I mean you can copy the pictures, movies, music, data, etc to external HDD and after the installation of OS from recovery disk you could copy all these files back to the internal HDD.

Safari won't load pages after latest java update

I did the java update last night and now there are a lot of web pages that don't load. I also tried Firefox and Opera so I believe it is the latest Java update not something else.
Is there a log some where that I can check to see if there are any error messages or other indications of what is actually happening?

If you are running 10.4.8 then you need to update your system software to 10.4.11. And make sure you have the 2009-002 Security Update installed. Open System Preferences/Software Updatess - Installed Updates. Make sure that update is there. If not go here and download and install ...

Then repair disk permissions...
Quit any open applications/programs. Launch Disk Utility. (Applications/Utilities) Select MacintoshHD in the panel on the left, select the FirstAid tab. Click: Repair Disk Permissions. When it's finished from the Menu Bar, Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac. If you see a long list of "messages" in the permissions window, it's ok. That can be ignored. As long as you see, "Permissions Repair Complete" when it's finished... you're done. Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac.
And ... from the Safari Menu Bar, click Safari/Preferences - Security.
Where you see: Web content make sure the top 3 buttons are selected.
And ..
From the Safari Menu Bar, click Safari / Empty Cache. When you are done with that...
From the Safari Menu Bar, click Safari / Reset Safari. Select the top 5 buttons and click Reset.
Could be a 3rd party plugins causing the problem. Go to ~/Library/Internet Plugins. Move any 3rd party plugins to the Trash and restart your Mac.

Iphoto won't load library after lion install

i did a clean install of lion on a formatted disc, them used migration manager to transfer my files.
now iphoto will not load the library. any library. i have two backups, both of which i have tried, but i photo just sits spinning it's gear symbol.
what's my best course of action do you think?

Never import one Library to another - which you have done. As you can see, it's a mess. Massive duplication, missing metadata, organistion and so on. Simply, importing one Library to another is just not a way to do anything.
Restoring from back up means simply opening the restored Library.
As to repairing the others:
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

ESX24 won't load samples after reorganizing library

I re-organized my old samples in my sampler instruments folder. They all loaded before. Now the sampler loads up but only sine tones play. I see all the samples in the editor window, I can click on them and they open up in the sample edit window. Everything is in the sampler instruments folder as before, just re-organized. Help!

Don't know what I did, but its fixed. Went to another track with ESX24 and everything loads!
