My Exchange account won't go online

I get this message when I try to Sync my Exchange (work) account.  Recently updated to iOS 5, and Lion.  Any Help?
The account "Exchange" currently can’t be modified. To discard your changes and continue using the version of your calendars that’s on the server, click Revert to Server. To save your changes on your computer until the problem is resolved, click Go Offline.

  • Imap accounts won't go online

A very strange thing started to happen to my Macbook Pro since yesterday. My Imap accounts won't go online. My internet is working fine. My POP accounts sync normally. When I try to put the Imap accounts online Mail gives me the following message "error 51 - network is unreacheable". I have no idea of how to correct this.
    Thanks for helping,
    Marco

Well, I don’t know what could be the problem either, but something to look at is that there is nothing wrong with your network settings.
In particular, go to Apple Menu > System Preferences > Network, choose Network Port Configurations from the Show popup menu, and make sure that the configuration used to connect to Internet appears at the top of the list. Try also turning OFF all the network port configurations except the one needed to connect to Internet and see whether that makes a difference -- if it doesn’t, turn ON again the ones you want enabled.

  • HT204075 email account won't stay online

Mac email connects to the internet but can't connect to the POP server or the SMTP server, so I can't send or receive. Checked all settings and they're correct. Settings show the mail account is "offline" but it won't stay online for more than a few seconds when I click "take all accounts online.

Triple-click the word "telnet" in the line below on this page to select the whole line:
    telnet pop.centurytel.net 995
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.
Paste into the Terminal window by pressing command-V. I've tested these instructions only with the Safari web browser. If you use another browser, you may have to press the return key after pasting.
You should almost instantly get three or more lines of output below what you entered, one of which is this:
    Escape character is '^]'.
If there's no output within ten seconds, consider that a failure. If you get something different from the above, please post it in a reply. You can then quit Terminal.

  • General Mail settings won't open and Exchange account won't recieve mails

    Here is a strange problem:
The Exchange mail account stopped working on my iPad after several month os working beutifully.
    The issues:
New mails won't arrive, it looks like the exchange account is looping forever when trying to get new mails. (The network indicator is spinning.)
I can no longer open the "Mail, Contacts, Calendars" setings, when clicked it marks the settings row but does not open any settings. After some minutes the Setting application ends and the iPad returns to the home screen.
    I've tried:
Restarting the iPad - no help,
"hard" restart (hold down home+power for 10sec) - no help,
Upgrading from 3.2.1 to iOS 3.2.2 - no help,
restoring from an old backup (Edit: to be clear: I reset to factory settins and then restored to an old backup) - no help.
The last thing I tried was restoring the iPad to factory settings and register it in iTunes as a new iPad (thus completely reverting all changes) - this removed the Exchange account and when I re-added it, everything worked as it should.
However... I want my things I have in the backup... Anyone has an idea of either how to fix this issue without deleting everything on the iPad or how to restore a backup without getting the Exchange account setup?
Is there a "back-door" to removing an email account (or all accounts, or even all settings)?
Or perhaps a backup setting where you can choose what parts of a backup to restore? (So I can skip the exchange mail account settings.)

(My Apple account got messed up??!)
I decided to take the not so very nice road forward.
I reset my iPad to factory settings and restored it as a new iPad.
Then manually re-added all content I managed to backup (photos using a image transfer tool, the rest "pen and paper" style).
This way, the exchange account was recreated (exactly the same as before) and now it works again, just as it did before the hickup.
I still have a lot of info lost from the backup (game saves etc), so if anyone knows how to extract such things from the iPad backup that would be great!
Hope you get your issue solved eventually! The "hard way" worked for me but the whole situation has made me lower the iPad score, I don't love it as much as I did before this happend....

  • Outlook 2010 - Multiple Exchange Accounts - Won't send from second account

I've setup multiple exchange accounts in Outlook 2010.  I receive fine for both accounts, but cannot send from second account.  Sent email goes to the Outbox and stays there.
I've tried going back to a second profile, and it works fine.  Mail in Outbox from efforts above stay in Outbox.  If I pull them up, I can resend with no issue.
I need to be able to send with multiple accounts in same profile to do other projects I'm currently working on.  Any ideas???
    Thanks,
    Mike

I was able to fix this with Outlook 2010 Service Pack 1.
Another area that I had to change was the inbox for that other account I created a rule to put in the primary inbox folder (email 2).
After that the email was only checking one to send and recieve based on the highlighted account, so to resolved that I went to Send/Reveive Groups > Define Groups > Edit Account Properties and made sure they refresh every 1 minute(s).

  • Imap mail accounts won't go online (OSX 10.7.2)

Sudenly my mail accounts (imap) stoped going online. I use Macbook Pro, OSX Lion 10.7.2. Could someone help me please?

Your issue maybe due to an issue with 10.7.2 and Adobe AIR.  I would recommend upgrading to 10.7.3 which resolves the issue.  If you still continue to have difficulties then I would recommend reviewing Troubleshoot AIR installation | Mac OS - http://helpx.adobe.com/air/kb/troubleshoot-air-installation-mac-os.html.

  • Exchange account won't send large file, switches servers

When I try to send a large file through my company's Exchange account, it fails - a window pops up and says
"Cannot send message using the server XXX (Exchange)
The Exchange connection to server XXXXXX failed."
then it gives me other servers to try, including the exchange one.
Mail.app also seems to be trying to switch the outgoing mail from my Exchange account to my personal (Gmail) account - the Outbox entry is for "On My Mac", not for my "Work" account.
Mind you, I received this file from my someone else at my company, so they could send it fine - it's not an Exchange size limit issue.  Other smaller mail I send on the Exchange account works fine.
    Any suggestions?

    Try this:
    1. Open System Preferences from the Apple menu.
    2. In Network, select Built-In Ethernet, select Advanced and then on the Ethernet tab, configure the following settings
    Configure: Manually
    MTU: Custom, 1492
    3. Then try to send an email message that contains an attachment.

  • Exchange 2007 account won't go online

    Hi,
I am running OS X 10.6.4 on my MacBook, with the latest versions of everything available through Software Update.
I am unable to get iCal to work with my Exchange 2007 account. I can add the account through preferences, but it never shows up in the left-hand pane where all the other calendars go. I don't run into this problem with my other Google calendar, so it seems to be specific to the Exchange calendar. Curiously, there is no error message from iCal, which acts as if the calendar is there but does not put it online. In the "Online Status" my Exchange Calendar is listed, but if I select to bring the account online nothing happens.
As it happens I've been trying to get iCal to work since upgrading to Snow Leopard last October. Previously I had a different problem, in which the Exchange Calendar would show up in the left-hand pane but would ask for a "valid email address" for the account. It seemed at the time that the problem was that my address is not published in the GAL, but this is something I have no control over personally, and the system admin won't publish it for me. I found it curious that iCal requires this, but Mail and AddressBook presumably do not, as they set up instantly when I upgraded to Snow Leopard and have both worked flawlessly ever since.
I haven't come across anyone with a similar problem when Googling the problem, so this is probably a long shot, but does anyone have some advice on what might help here or how I can go about troubleshooting this problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
    Cheers,
    nanoo

I had the exact same issue. Found nothing in the console logs other than "can't refresh account". Turns out my problem was wrong e-mail address with the exchange server. I used the exact e-mail address that this particular exchange expected and it added it to the panel on the left.
Our setup is a bit weird cause we have 2 exchange servers, but I let iCal figure out everything itself using the "old" exchange server and then afterwards went and edited the server settings to use the "new" server, and it kept working with these settings.
Just a bit annoying that iCal was so vague about what the problem was... Also didn't help that I upgraded and moved to the "new" server and changed my password all at once, so don't know what cause the problem in the first place.

  • Two Mail accounts won't go online simultaneously

Hi. I've had one account set up in Mail, and it's worked great for me. Today, I tried adding a new account so I can receive/view my personal and business emails at the same time. Problem is, when one account is connected, the other one has the little "!" triangle next to it. And when I click to take all accounts online, the thing just spins and spins forever. How can I get both accounts to connect at the same time?
By the way, these are both IMAP accounts. They have almost identical setup info, so I know they are both set up correctly.

  • Account won't stay online and get new messages

I have 2 accounts on Mail, my work and my yahoo account. I receive all my messages fine at work (tiger) and cannot receive them at home, mail keeps telling me the account is offline at home when I try to take it online it refreshes and then puts a squiggly line next to the account name. I have not selected to delete messages from server. I've checked to make sure all my settings are the same from the office computer and home computer. I'm not sure what to do next.

I found (in solving an iTunes issue) that a hard reboot of the ISP's modem cleared up a Mail issue very similar to the one you describe.

  • My exchange account won't work with mail

    Hi
I can't get mail to work on my Macbookpro while it works on my iphone 4.
it tells me "The server returned the error: The connection to host mail.colt.net on port 443 failed."
can anyone help me to troubleshoot.
in the iphone i just need to put 2 or 3 parameters and on the Mac there are some more. So i guess that the problem is on those ones.

    Hi
my IT departments tells me that it's exchange 2007 (although they are not sure)
I don't have my MAC here with me but in any case Mail, must be at the latest update versión, I bought the MAC in May and did all the updates since then.

  • Mail won't go online with IMAP but Exchange works

Mac mail has beeen working fine for me for many years. Last day or so all my non Exhcange accounts won't go online. I read through the forum. I have checked the connection doctor. It is "unable to contact server". I tried network utility to port scan the IMAPS port. That worked just fine. I do have a software firewall called Little Snitch. I checked all the rules in there. There are no block rules for mac Mail. I also dissabled the the firewall with no results. I was hoping to get my primary gmail account working. So I removed it and re-added it. No luck.
I think this problem may be related to SSL certificates. At work we have a firewall that does SSL termination. It has a self signed certificate on it. I have often gotten mismatched SSL warnings when picking up mail. I can't seem to find the SSL certificates anywhere on the mac so I don't know where to delete them. Removing and re-adding the gmail account should have refreshed the SSL certificate. So thism may not be the issue.
    Any suggestions would really help.

Rebooting the Mac fixed the problem. I have no idea why. Still unable to locate the mail ssl certificates.

  • I set my Exchange account up and it won't connect to any of the other apps

I reccently set up my exchange email account on my laptop and I can get and send emails from the account, but the laptop won't let me connect the exchange account with my calender, contacts, reminders, notes, safari, facetime, or any of the other apps on my laptop. It always asks me for my password and when I put it in it still says it can't connect to the exchange account. Why won't it let me connect my exchange account to my laptop apps?

When ever I try and login to my exchange account on Safari it says it can't connect to the account to the account and to call the administrator, but then i tried tologin again and it worked. Anyway I then tried my contacts and it is still not working.

  • Created new email account for Exchange sync - Won't Sync old mail

I upgraded to 2.0 on an old iPhone. could not get the PUSH to work on my original exchange account setup on the iphone. Created a new email/exchange account on the phone that offered a totally different setup screen and different required info. PUSH now works but will only download 10-15 emails that were previously synced and won't download any old subfolder mail. I have it set to download the last 200 emails. Help!

Exchange accounts have a setting for the number of days to sync. Look in Settings > Mail, Contacts and Calendars > (your account name) > Mail days to sync. This overrides the setting of the number of emails to download. This is on p. 111 of User's Guide.

  • HT1296 I have switched from a Exchange account to an imap account and now my contacts won't sync from my computer to my iPhone - what to do?

I have switiched from an Exchange account (which I just deleted) to a imap account account. But I can't seem to get my contacts to sync from my laptop onto my new account.
    What should I do?

What do you mean the ones "unique" to your phone? If you were not syncing them with something, they are gone. They are only part of the backup to preserve the list of favorite numbers and recent calls.
Don't worry about having to restore the previous OS. You can not do so at all.
