My exported JPGs are not recognized by Preview or Microsoft applications
Just converted from Photoshop to Lightroom on my Mac (O/S 10.7.5). I love the flexibility and speed but my exported JPGs are not recognized by Preview or any Microsoft application (Word, PowerPoint, etc). The only applications that will open them are LR or PS. I am exporting them from LR as JPGs.
What am I doing wrong?

That's very odd. Could you attach a screen shot of your Export dialogue? Make sure it includes File Settings and Image Sizing:
You can use the "camera" icon (in the Forum's Reply tool bar) to attach the screen shot.
Also, it would be helpful to place one of the ill-behaved, exported JPEGs in a service like DropBox and post a link to it, so we can take a close look at it.

I have lightroom 4 I've had it for years and it has imported my raw files from my CF card without issue . Now when I plug in my CF card to import new files it says import operations not performed and there are no image previews . When I continue by hitting "import" I get a pop up window that states "the files are not recognized by raw format support in Light Room"
Don't feel too bad. If the D4S has as many menus and custom functions as my Canon 5D Mark iii its easy to get messed up.
If you downloaded from the link I gave you it will be Lr 5.4. The link was just to show you when the D4S was supported. The newest version is 5.7.1 and can be downloaded here. Don't know your OS so you will have to pick Windows or Mac. Product updates
On my Mac I just run the downloaded installer program (its a full version and not an small update) and it installs the new version and erases the old version. If you are on Windows you will have to get help from a windows person. -
.jpg files created on Iphone 4S are not recognized as .jpg files when uplaoding to American Heart Association fund raising webpage? .jpg's from Canon camera uploaded without any problems? The website automatically reduces the file size to <100kb.
I haven't contacted AHA about this issue. The .jpg files created on Canon SLR uploaded correctly, but the photo from iPhone which was emailed to my PC using MS IE. The .jpg was browsed to from my desktop and is submitted. It shows up in draft form then when uploading it fails saying it is not a .jpg file or .png file? I have had other issues in the past emailing iPhone pictures. They were not editable after being sent to a PC. I guess we can retake photos with a non-Apple camera.

Fcpx: the video properties of this clip are not recognized.
The original footage is 300fps hi-speed video, shot with Casio Exilim EX-F1. Resolution 512x384, framerate 29.97
When I imported the footage into FCPX, I marked "Transcoding: Create optimized media". So I did.
Now I start a new project, drag the clip into the timeline and I get the message "The video properties of this clip are not recognized." andI can choose to import the clip as 640x480. But I don't want that, and why have I just transcoded into pro-res if FCPX itself cannot recognize the clip afterwards? What am I missing here?
For the record: I also bought Compressor4 and Motion5 so if they are needed for my solution, no problem. I tried importing the clip first into Compressor4 but couln't find a way to export into a FCPX-project.
Short note about myself: long time Premiere user, recently switched to Apple + FCPX.I can't show you screenshots because I don't have access to FCP at the moment. Take the first clip you want to be in the project. Open it into the timeline using the Open in Timeline function. You can now blade this clip however you like. Cut the beginning, cut the end. Slice it however you want it. The audio will be separate from the video. You can collape it into a compound clip if you want. This only happens with the first clip. Leave the timeline open. In the event event browser, find the second shot you want. Mark In and Out points. Press the E key to append it to timeline. You want to insert a a different shot in the beginning. Move the playhead in the timeline back to the beginning. Find the shot you want in the browser. Mark in and out points. Press the W key to insert the shot. You want to add transitions. Select the clips in the timeline and press Cmd-T. You want to add a timeline. Put the playhead in the timeline wherever you want. Double click the title to put it into the timeline. Add more shots into the timeline. Do you see what's happening? You are editing your program into that first clip's timeline. The dimensions of that first clip remain intact in that timeline. When you export you're exporting that clip's timeline. As I said, it's not ideal, but it's a workaround. Basically FCP only works with standard video formats.

Adobe products are not recognized with my Internet Explorer. I cannot open PDF documents on websites and I cannot play MSN games since Flash Player is not found. I have tried manage add-ons and enable status without success. Can anyone supply detailed information on how to fix this problem?
C-adobeAre you running IE10 in 64-bit mode? The Adobe Reader plugin is 32-bit, and can only run on a 32-bit browser.
Regarding Flash Player, do you have ActiveX Filtering enabled? Disable it. -

My iPod and iPhone are not recognized in Windows 7 iTunes. I've reinstalled iTunes and restarted windows. Now iPod briefly displays, then device manager mass storage shows a yellow exclamation point. iPhone doesn't display in iTunes at all. Please advise

My messages get lost in an eternal loop in my out box and it says that my iCloud me accounts are not recognized by the server. I can send 1 or 2 out of 10.

Songs in music library downloaded from a CD and synced to my old IPOD are not recognized by my new IPOD classic. What is the fix?
If you are using automatic syncing with your old iPod, select that iPod in iTunes and go to its Music tab (next to Summary). Note how this Music tab is set up. Maybe you can do a screen shot.
Now, select the new iPod in iTunes. Go to its Music tab, like you did for the old iPod. Set up the new iPod's Music tab exactly like the old iPod, and Apply the change.
The music on your new iPod should now match the old iPod. -

View Solution.The Recovery process would erase you hard drive, and attempt to install a fresh OS. Decidely a bad choice if you wanted to save your data files. The Recovery sets are "tattoo" with the BIOS hardwafre configuration. It will not, IMHO, recognize the PCI Sata card.
You mentioned the Recovery program on the hard drive actually requested the installer of the controller (PCI card). Try running from that.

Zap the PRAM and Reset the SMC, then try again. If the problem remains, update to 10.6.8 and repeat.

I am retired. In my active years, I purchased Adobe Creative Suite 4 Design Standard and Dreamweaver CS5 for my Windows environment. I recently spent a fortune to migrate to Apple. I now (and a bite late) realize that my licenses are not recognized by Adobe. I am desperate. I cannot afford the expense of buying or paying access to the software and, still, I need the tools for all those little things I do for enjoyment. What can be done?
The licenses are operating system specific, so one option would be to retain use of the Windows machine you had before the Mac.
If you want to try to use the older stuff on your new Mac you can try installing Windows emulation software such as Bootcamp. -
I can not perform software updates or download any programs. They appear in the download box as images that are "not recognized". I thought maybe my antivirus software was setting up a firewall, but I have disabled it, so that's not the case. Any suggestions as to how I can fix this?
If the downloads are gone, it's possible that Windows is removing the downloads based on security policies set in IE. I realize that sounds strange, but it's related to Firefox's feature of submitting downloads to your virus scanner and marking them as having come from the internet.
To test this theory, you could try disabling the scan feature. I assume you have good "real time" antivirus protection which checks every file saved to your hard drive. (If not, you really should get that, and you can use Microsoft's free [http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/products/security-essentials Microsoft Security Essentials] for now until you have time to review all the available choices.)
(1) In a new tab, type or paste '''about:config''' in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
(2) In the filter box, type or paste '''scan''' and pause while the list is filtered
(3) Double-click '''browser.download.manager.scanWhenDone''' to toggle its value.
