My Exporting Files Solution
Just wanted to offer this info in hopes that it helps someone with an export problem. After rolling along in LR with several exports, I suddenly couldn't export to my C drive or to my external HD, both of which had plenty of memory. I did a search here, and tried exiting and reopening LR...didn't work. Then, I noticed that under the Library tab on the left side of LR, some of my images were listed as "missing images"......no idea why. I clicked on the images and helped LR find them.......now exporting is no problem again. Now I just have to figure out why some images are listed as "error images"...hmmm.
Your monitor profile is likely corrupted. Try this to confirm: http://www.lightroomqueen.com/2008/12/28/corrupted-monitor-profile/
If that solves it, then recalibrate your monitor properly using a hardware calibration tool.

How to convert exported file?
I trying to solve this problem. I have exported file from Oracle 9i2. I have only Oracle 8.1.6 and I must import this file into my DB. Standard import procedure does not work. It stops with message
IMP-00010: not a valid export file, header failed verification
IMP-00000: Import terminated unsuccessfully
Because exp/imp is not backward compatible :-(
The solution is to use Oracle 8.1.6 export utility on Oracle 9i2. But I don't have access to this database. And ofcourse I don't have Oracle 9i2.
Is it possible to convert somehow 9i2 exported file into 8.1.6 format? Please give me also answer, when it is not possible.
Thanks
PeterIf you received the 9.2 export from another site and are unable to use the 8.1.6 export utility against that database, your only option would be to create a 9.2 database at your site, import the data and then reexport with 8.1.6 from YOUR database.

Sharpening brush in exported file
I have a problem with sharpen brush. It seems I lost it exporting version vs jpeg or tiff. I used it strongly in a portion of the image just to try and in exported file is missing. I have read about viewing at 100% etc, but I need to view the same thing between Aperture and other application. I have a 15" macbook pro and it is impossible to view and use a 100% image during sharpening brush. With Lightroom, for example, it doesn't happen. Is there a solution?
I add other info.
If you look at the exported image to 100%, then the heavy sharpened areas are mantained.
However I find of little use, in fact unreliable, adjust sharpen an image in a preview of Aperture not 100% without having control of how it will be exported once. To work 100% do not talk about .... with a 15 "!

No thumbnails in finder/preview after exporting files as dng out of lightroom?
Does anyone have experience sorting out the issue of no thumbnails in finder/preview after exporting files as dng out of lightroom?
There are several conversations in the forum about this problem, but cant seem to find a solution.
Anyone know how to sort this out? Thanks for your reply.
Mac does support previewing dngs in finder and preview. This has not been a problem before (besides when using my fujufilm compact camera, which mac now has updated the Apple camera for).
To answer your Q about dng files. Thats exactly what i do. I have work which involves communicating/transfering multiple lr -edited files to someone else whom further edits in ps. Not only that, I personally use dng as a way of storing my files. I suppose like to keep my files tidy and uniform.
Any mac users out there who has a a solution to my issue with previewing dngs? -
Lightroom 4 - Slowdown when exporting files
Hi.
I'v been experiencing some slowdown on my PC when exporting files from LR4. No matter the size, or if it's .jpg or .TIFF... it always gives me some frezzes (mouse etc)
I have a high end machine, and i don't think that's the problem....
Does anyone have a similar problem or a solution?

Lastest ATI driver...None either... CPU always at 0% before exporting.
But i think i found the problem, it's related to my HDD. I was reading some articles, and decided to use my HDD as AHCI instead of IDE.
I had to modify some regs to install the drivers, but after that the slowdown where almost inexistent...
Now i need to know where the problem is, if it's with HDD or motherboard..

I am not sure which "posted solutions" you had, but this is related to not running root.sh which must be run against the Agent Home.
1. Stop the Agent (emctl stop agent) while connected to the OS as Oracle user (normally oracle) that installed Grid Control
2. Connect to the OS as root and run root.sh from Agent ORACLE_HOME (if you do not have root access, your System Admin can do it)
3. Start the Agent (emctl start agent) while connected to the OS as Oracle user -
Hi All
I want to use the payment wizard eft export function but i'm not sure how to create an export file that can be exported from SBO then imported into the Banking solution (Nedbank, South Africa , Standard Bank (SA) , and FNB (SA).
My thinking was liaising with the bank technician with regards to the format file to be imported. I don't remember correctly but i think I saw some where on the portal a software that can be used to generate country specific eft format file.
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks,
Bongani DlaminiHi Bongani,
we have a similar solution. Bank export files are called DTA (in germany). Therefor you need the payment wizard and the payment engine addon. You just need to set up the payment methods. There you could choose the export definition.
I think, the program you are searching for is the payment engine. It comes with a lot of export definitions.
If there is not a correct export definition, you need to create a new one. Therefor you could use the addon format definition. With this addon you could create a export definition, which you connect to your payment method. You need to ask your bank for the layout of the export file.

Hi,
I'm having a serious issue with your brend new Cisco Prime Network Control System (NCS) and i would appreciate if someone could give me good answers.
After a background backup task failure, the database was entirelly corrupted and the oracle server no longuer wanted to start. And because of that the NCS web server is unusable, since no one can log in.
We tryed to restore to last known backup obtained after a former suucessful backup. But we get this error:
"ERROR: invalid backup file version. Exception: Error while unzipping invalid wcs 7.x export file"
All the lost data was previously migrated from the former WCS 7.x server. Before this issue everything was working fine.
So we think that the appliance is seeing the backup file from NCS as a WCS backup.
We need to find rapidly a solution. Here is our configuration:
We formerly had WCS 7.0.172.0 hosted on Microsoft Windows Server 2003 SP2 with the above caracteristics:
Intel(R)Xeon(R) CPU 5120 @ 1.86Ghz 1.87Ghz 16GB of RAM.
We now have NCS Version 1.1.1.24 running under Cisco Application Deployment Engine
OS Release: 2.0
ADE-OS Build Version: 2.0.1.038
ADE-OS System Architecture: x86_64I was getting this error too. TL;DR: When you transfer the wcs.zip file to your FTP server, make sure you are using BINARY mode... which is often NOT the default FTP mode.
Long Version:
TO GET THIS ERROR, what I had done was use the Windows CLI FTP command to transfer my "wcs.zip" to the NCS FTP server.
-----BEGIN WRONG STEPS-----
C:\ftp
ftp> open x.x.x.x
Connected to x.x.x.x.
220 Service ready for new user
User (x.x.x.x:(none)): ftp-user
331 User name okay, need password for ftp-user
Password:
230 User logged in, proceed
ftp> put wcs.zip
200 Command PORT okay
150 File status okay; about to open data connection
226 Closing data connection
ftp: 526768949 bytes sent blah blah etc
-----END WRONG STEPS-----
I would then run "ncs stop" and "ncs migrate" and get the "ERROR: invalid backup file version. Exception: Error while unzipping invalid wcs 7.x export file".
I remembered something from my misspent youth: Windows, for no good reason, likes to transfer files in ASCII mode. UNIX (which LINUX comes from) prefers BINARY, and the two do not like to negotiate.
TO FIX THIS, I had to just FTP in Binary mode.
-----BEGIN RIGHT STEPS-----
C:\ftp
ftp> open x.x.x.x
Connected to x.x.x.x.
220 Service ready for new user
User (x.x.x.x:(none)): ftp-user
331 User name okay, need password for ftp-user
Password:
230 User logged in, proceed
ftp> binary
200 Command TYPE okay
ftp> put wcs.zip
200 Command PORT okay
150 File status okay; about to open data connection
226 Closing data connection
ftp: 526768949 bytes sent blah blah etc
-----END RIGHT STEPS-----
NOW when I enter "ncs stop" (actually... had to restart them... then stop them... x.x) and then the proper "ncs migrate" commands, I get a happy output and don't have to go home late troubleshooting this.

Stage 3 of 5: Restoring Data ...
I hope this helps anyone banging their head against the WCS->PI1.3 install wall.
(Note, WCS needs to be migrated to NCS 1.1.1.24 (NOT NCS 1.1.3!!!!!) before you can migrate to Prime Infrastructure 1.2 or 1.3, because for no readily apparent reason the "ncs migrate" command was removed from PI 1.2 and up. Also note, there is no "Prime Infrastructure 1.1;" they just renamed NCS to Prime Infrastructure after NCS 1.1 because. Yes, the sentence ends there. Great products, all 3, just... agonizing to migrate.) -

I have a requirement to add the system date folder automatically, as the exports files
dumps get into to d:\oracle\exp\..... this should be d:\oracle\exp\03182009. for each
day it should create these date folder to dump the export files.OK - well, you will (AFAICR) have to create the directory, then cd into it,
then run your script - I don't see what the problem is?
You could* do something like -
at 00:01 run a cron job that simply does something like this
(I'm just giving outline - not a particular implementation)
runs date
gets the day, month and year from that -
export MyDay=day
export MyMonth=month
export MyYear=year
mkdir /path/to/dir/oracle/exp/$MyDay$MyMonth$MyYear
At the beginning of your script, before going into SQLPlus
----Your usual stuff------------
set ORACLE_SID=%1
set PATH=D:\ORACLE\ora102\bin;C:\WINNT\system32;C:\WINNT
set LOCAL=2:%1
net use h: /delete
net use login
++++plus
cd /path/to/dir/oracle/exp/$MyDay$MyMonth$MyYear
Maybe this will be a help to get you started - it could probably be much more elegant in
Python or whatever, but if shell-scripting is the way you want to go...
I'd be interested to see if this can provide the basis for a solution.
HTH and TIA.

Hi,
I'm new to this group and to OWB as well. I am re-building in OWB a small sample application that I have previously built in another ETL tool.
One of the source files to be processed in this application is an Oracle export file. I have tried, and looked through the documentation, but it seems Oracle export format files are not supported as source files in OWB. This seems (to me) a strange omission in an Oracle ETL product, as imp/exp is an accepted an much-used way to exchange data.
So the question is: am I right (export files not supported) or must I look better? And if I'm right: how can I use the export file in OWB? My guess is creating an "external process".
Thanks,
GertonGerton,
You cannot directly read an export file and the format has not been published. Even through OWB you cannot read it... part of it I guess is to prevent a potential security hole (you would be able to read any data from an export file if you had OWB?).
What you can do: external process to load the export file (command line), run a mapping against the schema, and use a transformation with dynamic SQL to drop the schema again. Not an elegant solution... but it could work.
Thanks,
Mark. -
Illustrator CS6 : Some layers are missing when exporting files
Hello all,
I'm trying to export my project for use in Adobe Director 11, and I'm encountering a problem with the export feature that I believe to be a legit bug, and seeing from the amount of threads related with my problem, I believe some other people have encountered it too. I provided some pics for an easier explanation.
So.. firstly, the image below is the screenshot of my project in AI, combination of paths, mask and pictures.
Next I'm trying to export it to PNG without artboard & use transparent background. Notice that the export preview still shows the image that I expect as the export result.
Below is the exported image.
As you can see, some part of the project is 'missing' in the exported files. The problem still occurred no matter I exported it to png, jpg, even psd. Changing the export resolution and anti-aliasing setting doesn't help.
I've encountered the same problem with different project for at least 5 times in like the last 8 months, and I find that each time I encountered the problem, it can only be temporary fixed by some specific procedures and sometimes each problem won't work with the same workaround. For example, one time I can properly export the project after I copy & paste the 'missing' layers and delete the original layers, in other time I have to select the 'missing' layers, move it a little and then move them back to its first location in order to export it properly. I also find that copying the entire layer that I want to export to a new document works a few times. I can't remember some other solutions I have tried that works, but if these solutions doesn't work anymore, I have to find another and it's pretty confusing since it happen to be 'random'.
Since I believe that this happen to be a program bug, I would love if one of those Adobe guy read this post and direct the problem directly to the AI team or something so it can be fixed in the next updates. Until then, anyone ever experienced the problem? What did you guys do to 'fix' the problem?
Many thanks for people who help me here.
P.S. As I'm writing the last part, exporting my current project to PNG with transparent background seems to be working properly after I tried to export to PNG with white as the background color, I dunno why, but it works now. I still want to know other workarounds to 'fix' the problem though, that could be helpful for other people out there. The first thing I was going to ask was if you saved as PDF earlier, but then I noticed you specifically said not in your first post. I have lost two layered high res images in the last couple of months due to getting mixed up after exporting to PDF for print. I still don't know how it happened, but I have to assume user error.
I also note you are using CS6 which has the JDI features, so saving as a JPG would not have flaterened the layers. I almost never use TIFF as it feels better to use PSD as it is the native format, and it limits the opertunity to mess up. So I am not being very helpful. If you absolutely didn't save out as JPG or PFD or similar, then you have to start thinking bug, but I have never heard of this happening outside of user error.
[EDIT] Whoops. Overlap. I called for my breakfast half way through typing my answer. Glad you got it fixed -
SSRS report Excel Export file size is huge
Hello everyone,
I am facing an issue with SSRS report exporting to Excel.
Issue : Exported file size is too big.
I have a matrix report ( parametrized report ) it fetches data from multiple table.
initially when
1) I select all parameters all values
2) load the report after that
3) exporting to excel
so exported file size was about 10 Mb to 12MB
Now, suddenly from this month exported file size is too big around 62 MB for same data,
I checked on different forums and tried the solutions but it didn't worked,
can anyone please suggest me on this.
My environment is
Visual studio (BIDS) 2008
SQL Server 2008 R2
Excel 2007
ThanksHi UdayKGR,
According to your description, when you export a report into an excel file, the exported file size is too huge. Now you want to reduce the file size. Right?
In this scenario, do you export the report into excel 2003 file? When reports are first exported and saved to Excel 2003, they do not benefit from the file optimization that Excel automatically applies to its *.xls workbook files. The larger file size can
cause problems for e-mail subscriptions and attachments. To reduce the size of the *.xls files for exported reports, open the *.xls files and then resave the workbooks. Resaving the workbooks typically reduces their file sizes by 40 to 50 percent. Also please
try to install the Reporting Services 2008 R2 Service Pack 2 and reduce the merged columns in exported excel file. For more information, please see the links below:

Hi,
Are your documents in the book of different page sizes? Have you done any edits to page size using Page tool and not using Document set up dialog?
We honor only the document set up dialog changes and not the changes made to page size using page tool so this could be one of the reason for things going wrong.
It would be really nice if you could share your document on dropbox may be and share the link with me at: [email protected] This way it would be easy for me to investigate and tell you why this issue is happening.

Export file is not a valid HTMLDB export file
Hi All,
I have a serious problem today when i want to import the exported application file to another workspace in other machine. Both workspace have same name & same schema in which application resides.I got the messages "export file is not a valid HTMLDB export file" .I have search thru the forum and have got several possibly solution. But i want to know what should be done to successfully build the application.Even after exporting file from different workspace and diff name from diff machine still i got the same error message.
Any Ideas ?
Thanks in advance ,
Cheers,
EmanI export an application resides in workspace HTMLDB_W in APP_OWN schema in database A version 9.2.0.1 and import that application to HTMLDB_W1 in APP_OWN schema
in database B version 9.2.0.5.Both database have HTMLDB version 1.6.1.02.when importing file the files are successfully imported but after click on Install the "Application Install"
region appears. Here the information shows below.....
Logged Into Workspace: HTMLDB_W1
Export File WorkspaceID:
Export File Application:
Export File Version:
Export File Parse As Schema:
Application Origin: This application was exported from another workspace.
Parse As Schema :APP_OWN
i select Run & build application then reuse my application ID .
There is no other application in the same schema & workspace of same application ID.Also when export the file the Character set is Unicode -UTF & while importing i choose the same character set in DOS format.I change the options later but nothing helps me......
I think since the export file version & workspace id cant detectable so the application fails with following error message ::
1 error has occurred
File is not a valid HTML DB application export file.
Previously i use the same workspace later i changed the workspace so now the export & import workspace is different & import workspace ID: 658006861199719
export file workspace ID : 689311213291671
If need more information please revert back to me.
