I have the same problem on my iPhone4. It is obviously a bug in the software. Once it pops out I am locked out of my phone. I can't even begin to describe the frustration this causes. All that stuff about holding down the buttons is useless. the phone won't even shut off. I can take a screen shot like that or go to voice control. Even when I got to a wifi connection, I can't get on. This app blocks everything else. This is a serious bug and can have serious consequences. The only thing my phone would do is go to voice control and let me play iTunes or phone people. Some smart phone hey?

I'm not sure what made you think that that was not what Regal trail was asking... I am having the same problem and wish that that question had been answered! I believe I've gone through the same steps that used to work, to no avail now. But I'm betting that you (Chris) have the answer to this!
In a nutshell: I'm trying to share my iPhone's cellular connection with my WiFi-only iPad Mini, using a Bluetooth connection. I used to do this regularly, but went for a period of time without the need for it, and so am hard pressed now to identify which thing that might have changed during the interim would have made it no longer work.
iPhone is connected to internet via cellular data (AT&T LTE). Bluetooth is on. Personal Hotspot is on.
On iPad, Bluetooth is on. My iPhone shows up in the list under My Devices, and I can select it, and it will connect for approximately 5 seconds. The shared connection icon shows up on the iPad. The iPhone (on the Bluetooth screen) shows, for those 5 seconds, that the iPad is connected, but the shared connection status bar never shows up on the iPhone.
After 5 seconds, it disconnects.

I cannot find Data Neighborhood in NI-DAQmx Base inorder to create a Task.
I am trying to follow the "Learning with LabVIEW 8" tutorial book.
I am using a NI USB-6008, and have downloaded NI-DAQmx Base 3.0.
The book says to right click on Data Neighborhood and "Create New". I cannot find Data Neighborhood anywhere. The help documents referance Data Neighborhood but I still can not find it. Is Data Neighborhood not in the base version?

DAQmx base uses a different utility to create tasks. This is called the NI DAQmx Base Configuration Utility. It can be found in Windows by going to Start » Programs » National Instruments » NI-DAQmx Base » Utilities » C Interface. The reason behind this is because NI DAQmx Base is typically used on non windows operating systems such as Linux, Mac OSX, and some RT systems. Since there is no Measurement and Automation Explorer (MAX) for these operating systems we use a different utility for customers to configure tasks. If there is no specific reason you cannot use DAQmx, I would highly recommend switching to it. Our DAQmx driver is fully supported within MAX and should show up as in Matthew's last post. If you are looking to develop in DAQmx Base so that the applications can be used later on Linux, Mac, or other DAQmx base supported operating systems, I would suggest taking a look at the DAQmx Base Configuration Utility.

Cannot find where the issue is, Bluetooth service discovery

I am developing a client/server bluetooth messaging application and seem to have to run into a brick wall. I am able to perform a device discovery, and the client is able to locate the server, however I am not able to locate the service on the server even though the server and the client are both using the same UUID and service name.
It gets to the point where it displays the status message, "Service search initiated" and then it seems like nothing else happens. I have been staring at the code for days and tried all sorts of tinkering, but have been unable to get it to work.
The UUID and service name I am using is:

After doing abit of troubleshooting, I realised that somehow the client is not able to locate the service on the Server, but I do not understand why that should be so, because the UUID and service name are matching on both the client and the server. It just beats me, and I would appreciate it if a 2nd pair of eyes could have a look at the code. Maybe there is something that I am missing.

I tried a few things such as
1) Changing the UUID for my application, but that didn't make the system work.
2) I then went on to modify the implementation and use the selectService() method of the bluetooth class, but still without any luck.
The only way it works, is if I get the server side to display the connection parameters and I manually enter them into the client side to connect. I do not understand why it is not working the automatic way. I have scanned through my code and logic multiple times, and still cannot figure out what the issue is. :(

Cannot find Bluetooth Preference Panel to install new Magic Mouse
Tried to install a new Magic Mouse, but the computer does not see it. Bluetooth icon is not in toolbar, and Bluetooth Pane is not in preferences panel. Found bluetooth.prefPane file in HD>System>Library>PreferencesPane, double clicked on it, but got the error message -- You cannot open "Bluetooth" preferences pane because it is not available to you at this time. You might need to connect a device to your computer to see the preferences pane.
Installed new batteries in Magic Mouse, but it still is not seen by the computer.
Note - I have not used Bluetooth devices on this computer before.
Suggestions?In the past, Apple have specifically recommended and supported the D-Link DBT-120 USB Bluetooth Adapter, but that one is quite old now, so you may have difficulty finding one.

Hello, most likely after installing SP3 or the latest Access connections file, 7xcx23ww.exe, I am unable to connect to any bluetooth device.
the latest Bluetooth with Enhanced data rate software for xp 5.5.0.6400 has been applied, as well as Microsoft Bluetooth Support file for Bluetooth with Enhanced Data Rate for Windows XP, ver 2.0 .
Is there something i am missing here? The task bar shows the Bluetooth icon in blue, but it cannot find any local bluetooth device.
CliffordApple claims the iphone supports bluetooth tethering for the hotspot, did I recieve some incorrect information? Also the hotspot is less than ideal. It rarely appears on my 2011 macbook or my wife's iphone. Any help with this stuff other than Apple is behind the 8 ball

Normally, AirPort Utility is not used or needed to set up Time Machine backups......unless a default setting on the Time Capsule to Enable File Sharing has been changed.
On the other hand, if you open AirPort Utility, a picture of the Time Capsule should be displayed. Are you saying here that the Time Capsule does not appear when you open AirPort Utility? -

Hi all, this will be something stupid (yeh I know). I am trying to pair up my bluetooth headset with the E63 but cannot find the bluetooth icon anywher. I have found the one in connectivity but this has no options just states that I have done the usual switch on and naming of the phone. I have benn trying fo the last 4 hours, anyone please help......

Bring your bluetooth headset in pairing mode (different bluetooth different ways ex long press of power on key the light starts blinking very quickly)
connectivity>bluetooth> scroll right and select pair new device
This will search your bluetooth headset u just select BT Headset and password will be asked just '0000".
