My FaceTime doesn't ring, neither does my daughters iPod?

I've gone to notifications, settings, apps (it isn't in apps because it is already on the iPad) sounds and I can't figure it out. We have turned both of our devices up as loud as they can go, externally and within the sounds setting, also making sure everything is set to "ON." The ringer is set to (default) mamba or something like that.

This is very easy to resolve. goto
1. settings
2. general
3. where it says 'Use Side switch to' you will see two choices
a) Lock rotation
b) Mute
Mute will be ticked if you are not getting a ringtone when someone calls you on Facetime
Simply Click on 'Lock Rotation'
Lock Rotation will now be ticked
Mute will be unticked.
Facetime calls will now ring your iPad
Apple haven't made this easy as you wouldn't expect a 'Side Switch' mute to disable facetime ringing, but it does.

Do you see a half moon icon in the upper right corner of the screen? If so, you have Do Not Disturb enabled. Settings>Do Not Disturb. Turn it off.
Or do you have system sounds muted?
System sounds can be muted and controlled two different ways. The screen lock rotation can be controlled in the same manner as well.
Settings>General>Use Side Switch to: Mute System sounds. If this option is selected, the switch on the side of the iPad above the volume rocker will mute system sounds.
If you choose Lock Screen Rotation, then the switch locks the screen. If the screen is locked, you will see a lock icon in the upper right corner next to the battery indicator gauge.
If you have the side switch set to lock screen rotation then the system sound control is in the control center. Swipe up from the bottom of the screen to get to control center. Tap on the bell icon and system sounds will return.
If you have the side switch set to mute system sounds, then the screen lock can be accessed in the same manner as described above.

I used to love my Firefox but lately it has become one big head ache. I have v3.6 since I had heard so many complaints about V4, and am always afraid to lose my beloved add ons (Sxipper, Morning Coffee) when I update. These are the things that make my daily life easier. Sxipper should be adopted by you guys since they are being faced out and is the best password option ever.

I have the same problem. Actually, it started when I switched the language on my iPhone to Spanish. Because Siri doesn't work in Spanish, I switched back to English. But the dictionary now is a mess. So, I reset the dictionary, but that didn't help. I tried restoring my iPhone but that didn't help either, I assume because when I restored, it picked up the bad dictionary. I can't restore to an earlier date because I can't lose me texts. But I am surprised that resetting the dictionary had no effect whatsoever.

How do i set up facetime and the messaging app on my daughters ipod touch? she is 9 and can not have an apple i.d. for purchases etc. i only want to message her from my i phone!

What i need the answer to is how to get an apple i.d.for my daughter without an email address or anything else, as she is only 9 and does not need, nor can she legally have, an i tunes account. If the iPhone has iOS 6, you can only uncheck your phone number on the iPod that is in Settings>Messages>Send And Receive. To delete yo have to create a new iTunes account not associated with the phone.

Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. I started to do that then it said that this will become their apple I.D or similar and then I thought that will disconnect them from the same iTunes? I want them still on my iTunes as they are only young (8 and 10)? Or have I got this all wrong and even if I do set them up with a different e-mail will they still be on my itunes? When i 'upgraded' to Mavericks, it locked me out and shut down my computer. now it won't print from my Epson Stylus CX3810. Epson doesn't have the driver to download and neither does the App store. Suggestions?

I'm having similar problems with my Epson Stylus DX5000. There was no in-built driver available (the generic old and new Stylus drivers didn't work), so downloaded the latest driver from Epson site. It shows as being available to print to, but just sends data to the print queue then job disappears.
I hope you're right C F McBlob, I could do with printing today but if there are new drivers available from November 5, then so be it.

I recently purchased Facetime for my iMac. I tried to test it out by calling my iPhone, but it doesn't ring at all. Is the iPhone connected to a WiFi network? FaceTime only works if the iPhone is connected to a WiFi network. Also, it must be enabled in Settings -> Phone
