  • FaceTime won't connect since ios5 update

Since updating to iOS 5, FaceTime won't connect. From my favorites list, it flashes & returns to favorites list. Does the same from contacts. I've rest & restored without success. Any thoughts?
    Thanks.

  • Facetime won't connect

I recently run into a problem with FaceTime not connecting. When I play or receive a call, it says "Connecting..." and remains that way until I hang up. This happens on my Mac (2010 15" Macbook Pro running 10.8.3), iPhone 4S, and iPad (both running iOS 6.1.3).
I live in Uzbekistan, which may be the problem, though I have friends here who have been able to use FaceTime without a problem, and until now I have had no problem using FaceTime from here. The problem started when I returned from a trip to the U.S.; I came back and FaceTime wouldn't connect anymore. I didn't change any settings for my wireless network (using an Airport Extreme), and I get the same problem even when using local 3G internet. I also subscribe to a VPN service and I run into the same problem when connected through that.
I've tried the FaceTime troubleshooting in this article (http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3367) but nothing helped. Any thoughts/advice would be greatly appreciated.

My boyfriend is having the same problem. He's visiting from the states and can't seem to use FaceTime. Any incite would be greatly appreciated.

  • I changed my Apple ID and now FaceTime won't connect...why?

I changed my Apple ID to my new email address...now my FaceTime will not connect...I have it set up with my cell phone but no luck connecting...suggestions?

    Hello solarkey,
Thank you for providing the details of the issue you are experiencing with logging into FaceTime after updating your Apple ID password.
First, I recommend toggling FaceTime off and then back on:
Toggle FaceTime off and on in FaceTime > Preferences.
Additionally, you can click on your Apple ID in FaceTime > Preferences to sign out and sign in with your new password if you have not entered your new password.

  • FaceTime won't connect to another MacBook Pro?

My husband and I have our three iPhones and my MacBook Pro connected under the same iCloud account. He recently bought his own MacBook Pro so we could FaceTime computer to computer rather than him using a phone while he is overseas. He can call from his phone to my computer and to my phone, but any calls going to or from his computer fails (some will come up on either end and some won't). He tried creating a completely new iCloud account as well since maybe it was trying to call itself, but that didn't change anything. We tried completely separating our numbers on the different devices so mine all had the same numbers/emails associated and his had only his so they didn't overlap, but that didn't seem to work either. Anyone have this problem and find a solution?

    Hello jdbeadle,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

  • FaceTime won't connect via telephone

FaceTime connects to husband and wife iPhones and husband's iPod because  only one iTunes account is used for all.  How can wife receive FaceTime on her phone only via telephone #

Thanks.  I shut off the FaceTime on the iPad.  I am using the iTunes email and sign-in on my phone and I removed the check mark from the email address was now the telephone # has a check mark next to it.
I changed the iTunes ID and email on my husband's phone.  I verified the change via Apple email.   I removed the check mark next to my husband's email and his telephone # now has a check mark next to it.
Both the phones are signed in to FaceTime.  We still can't connect with each other on FaceTime in either direction.

  • FaceTime won't connect with a friend that it's worked with before.

I am unable to connect to FaceTime with my friend who has an IPhone4 and I have an iPad2. It worked April 13 but it hasn't worked since.  What do we need to do to solve this?

  • Iphone 5s, FaceTime won't connect at all

It's driving me crazy, whenever I try to FaceTime any of my contacts, or they FaceTime, we are both able to pick up, however it never stops "connecting" until it fails completely. I have tried to with a different device, several, I've reset network settings, my wifi itself, I've turned FaceTime off and then back on. Nothing's making it work, iMessage is absolutely fine and so is my wifi itself. I was able to FaceTime fine yesterday, it's just today where it's stopped working, please help!

Sit tight and wait for Apple to resolve.  This is an ongoing issue, you can look at today thread see that everyone is having issues also.

  • FaceTime won't connect to one specific contact.

    I'm having trouble with FaceTime.
I was able to FaceTime my girlfriend 3 nights ago and it worked perfectly fine. After about half an hour however it cut off and ever since then I haven't been able to connect to her. She tells me that she is able to FaceTime all of her other contacts but as soon as she goes to FaceTime me it doesn't work.
The call comes through but when either of us click answer, it stops at connecting and after so long says "so and so is not currently available to FaceTime".
Does anyone know what is causing this problem and how it could be solved?

  • FaceTime Won't Connect Calls

For the last couple times I was trying to call my friend who was also using Facetime for Mac, and the calls would say "connecting" but then would fail. I thought it was my end so I told him to try and it was the same thing. We are both using Lion, same version of FaceTime and both have a broadband connection so it isn't the internet speed that is the problem... any suggestions?
    Thanks!

I have same issue. It did not change after ios 8.1.  It is really big problem for me too. But i think the problem is RAM! After i try to do facetime call and not able to connect, i am opening an app for cleaning ram. After RAM cleaning i am able to connect. It just works every time for me. Some times i want it from the person who i called too. Can you all try it please? If it is true, i think we have found a reason to upgrade ram for APPLE
