My finger print reader for dv6-3025dx is not working: can i fix it by redownloading the software?

I was asked to download the Digital Persona Finger Print Reader for Consumer NB for my dv6-3025dx Windows 7 notebook and after that my fingerprint reader stoped working. The status has an "X" rather than a check mark, I tried redownloading it but if failed again. Is there any other way I can fix it? Thank you

  • HT4972 My ipad 1 is stuck on IOS 4 as the IOS 5 update instructions do not work. When I use itunes update the software looks for an update file and the apple site doesn't have one!

My ipad 1 is stuck on IOS 4 as these IOS 5 update instructions do not work. When I use itunes update the software looks for an IOS 5 software update file and the apple site doesn't seem have one anywhere!

If you have an iPad 1, the max iOS is 5.1.1. For newer iPads, the current iOS is 6.0.1. For the iPad Mini the iOS is 6.0.2. The Settings>General>Software Update only appears if you have iOS 5.0 or higher currently installed.

If you are currently running an iOS lower than 5.0, connect the iPad to the computer, open iTunes. Then select the iPad under the Devices heading on the left, click on the Summary tab and then click on Check for Update.
Tip - If connected to your computer, you may need to disable your firewall and anitvirus software temporarily.  Then download and install the iOS update. Be sure and backup your iPad before the iOS update. After you update an iPad (except iPad 1) to iOS 6.x, the next update can be installed via wifi (i.e., not connected to your computer).

  • Firefox does not recognize my finger print reader for passwords

My lap top has a finger print reader into which I code all my passwords. When I use Explorer my finger print reader works fine, but when I use Firefox as my browser the finger print reader does not work

I looked for software and found a suggestion which I down loaded. Now the finger print reader does not work either on Internet Explorer or on Firefox. So I had to do a reset to an early time to get rid of that soft ware. We are back to where I started, with the finger print reader working fine on Explorer 11 and it does not work at all on FireFox. There must be some work around, has this not occurred with other folks.

  • Printer Options for HP LJ 3015 Not working

    Hi,
I am unable to get the duplex option to appear for my HP LaserJet 3015 (all in one printer). This is my first mac (OS X 10.5.8). I have downloaded the latest driver and software from the HP web site. I've spent over an hour on the phone with apple support (who were wonderful) and also phone time with HP. No success. I've looked through the messages here (that I could find), but nothing seems to work (and I haven't found anything specific to the 3015). Duplexing is a must for me since I print large documents. Does anyone have any ideas or should I consider a new printer?
    Thanks.

It is possible it does not support duplexing with the Mac OS. I originally used it with a PC and purchased the printer because of the duplex feature. If I can't duplex with it on the Mac I will likely get a new printer (which isn't ideal, but is possible for me to do...and I can donate this one to a non-profit so it is not wasted). I just thought I would ask here before making that more costly decision in case I was missing something. Thank you very much for your help.

  • HP Pavilion M7 Finger Print Reader Not Working

    Hi,
I recently purchased an HP Paviolion M7.
I put an OCZ SSD in, and ended up doing a fresh install using non-HP Windows 7 (64).  Using the HP Recovery Tools is simply not an option (believe me I tried).
I have everything working now, except for the Finger Print Reader.  I have tried everything I can think of and could find.
I am using all the drivers/software from:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?os=4063&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&sw_lang=&product=5273...
    I have done these things:
    https://support.authentec.com/Forum/tabid/318/forumid/49/threadid/600/scope/posts/threadpage/2/Defau...
    http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Other-Notebook-PC-Questions/HP-Pavilion-dv7-4020sa-finger-print-reader-...
    And more.
I believe the issue is because Biometric Device is Unavailable to Windows, see this screenshot:
I believe the above picture causes the Authentec HP SimplePass software to not recognise the driver version, see screenshot:
    Any ideas?

I am sure they are the correct drivers, they worked with the system when it was an "HP" version of Windows.
The screens work for me, here they are again:

  • Finger print reader and windows 8.1

Have an HP DM4T1100 notebook, Can't get finger printe reader to work with Windows 8.1.  Worked with 8.0 64bit, but when upgraded to 8.1 64 bit lost the use of the Finger Print Reader.  Have loaded many different drivers and software but nothing works and the finger print reader no longer "blink".  Sometimes get infor saying swipe finger but the Reader is not flashing.
Need to know steps to clear all the fingerprint drivers and software to start over, hopfully with know dirivers and software that works with Windows 8.1 64 bit.

    Hello,
After checking the HP Driver and Download page, for your exact notebook. Their are no available drivers for Windows 8 or 8.1. For a possible work around, you can try the 8.1 drivers for another notebook. At this point, I would suggest creating a restore point on your computer if you have not already. I have included the document 'Using Microsoft System Restore (Windows 8)'. Please click on the option for Create a restore point, and follow the instructions.
Once the restore point has been created. You will need to uninstall the previous drivers that you have installed for the finger print reader. I have included the steps below for uninstalling through Add and Remove Programs.
    * From the Start screen type Add and Remove Programs
    * Select Add and Remove Programs
    * Once the list is populated look for anything like Validity driver, SimplePass, Finger Print Reader, or Biometric
    * Right click on these options and select uninstall
After all the items have been uninstalled, please restart your computer. After the computer is fully back, please empty the trash.
The next step will be to install the Validty driver, and then the Fingerprint Reader software. I have included the links below for you.
    'Validity Fingerprint Sensor Driver'
    'AuthenTec Fingerprint Sensor Driver'
Please let me know if you are able to use the Fingerprint reader after this, thank you.

  • HT3771 how to disable printer updates for printers I do not have anymore

I'm using Snow Leopard and find that auto-update is constantly wanting to update printer drivers for printers i do not own, but might have had connected in the past. How can I disable these printers? I've spotlight searched through my system and cannot find where these printer profiles are located.

/Library/Printers/ and delete any manufacturer's folder for the ones you don't have. This is all I have left:

  • Mic on headphones for iPhone 4 will not work. What could possibly be wrong?

Mic for headphones (iphone4) will not work. When I use voice control, the lines are up and down (almost like there is some type of noise) even though I am not speaking into it. Speakers are working, whether it's from music or using the phone. I've tried turning the phone on/off and it still does not work. Not sure what else to do. I just recently bought these headphones approx 4-5 months ago.

There are three types of 3.5 mm headphone jacks - TS, TRS, and TRRS. Tip, Ring, Sleeve.
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TRS_connector
Currently the two parts closest to the cord (2nd Ring and Sleeve) are used for the microphone. Some vendors use the sleeve for the mic, and some use the ring.
    Could be the problem.

  • Does HP sell a USB extension for the finger-print reader in an Elitebook 8540p?

I have an Elitebook 8540p. I can use the fingerprint reader to log in to Windows when the screen is open. However, when the laptop is 'docked' the screen is closed, covering the built-in finger print reader. Does HP sell a USB fingerprint extender or adapter which would allow me to use the biometric sign in when the laptop is docked?

I am sure they are the correct drivers, they worked with the system when it was an "HP" version of Windows.

  • Vista Drivers for Finger Print Reader on a Portege R200????

    Please help
I have a R200 model, which originally came with Windows XP, now have Windows Vista Business Edition Installed & having problems getting the Finger Print Reader to work. I have tried plenty of programs which Windows says have installed properly, but they all state that the reader is not conected??
I have tried so many times to get it to work, and looked at the manufactures web-site for Drivers or Software, but nothing.
Seems very strange for a Toshiba Laptop not to work fully, even when it states on the OS sticker Windows Vista Capable ???
    Ummmmmm
