My Firefox browser will open just fine, but the page is completely blank when it pulls up. Please help!
My laptop got infected with some kind of a trojan. I ran a full scan using my virus protection software, and after quite a bit of work (including a system restore), the infection seems to have been cleaned up and removed.
The problem I'm having now, is when I open my Firefox web browser page, it pulls up, but the page is completely blank. There is literally nothing in the page, no tabs, no home page, nothing. So, I cannot access the internet right now using Mozilla Firefox. I'm having to send this out via IE, which I do not like to use anymore. I was not having any issues with my Firefox web browser, until my pc got infected. Please help!
It is best to do a clean reinstall after doing a system restore in case some files got mixed up.
Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.
* Firefox 4.0.x: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html
* Uninstall your current Firefox version.
* Do not remove personal data when you uninstall the current version.
Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.
* It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Firefox Profile Folder] and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox.
Also remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

Trouble opening pdf's - I have received several pdf's from a friend via e-mail (Thunderbird). Some of them open just fine but others give me the message: "There was an error opening this document. Triple-click the line of text below to select it, the copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C):

from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-G. Paste into the text box that opens (command-V), then press return.
From the folder that opens, remove any items that have the letters “PDF” in the name. You may be prompted for your login password. Then quit and relaunch Safari, and test.
The "Silverlight" web plugin distributed by Microsoft can also interfere with PDF display in Safari, so you may need to remove it as well, if it's present.
If you still have the issue, repeat with this line:
~/Library/Internet Plug-ins
If you don’t like the results of this procedure, restore the items from the backup you made before you started. Relaunch Safari again. -
I have reinstalled Acrobat Pro 9 following a hard drive re format. It opens just fine but does not recognize my serial number. My computer is running Windows 7 64 bit

Delete the Adobe PCD folder and caps.db file:
Windows: \Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Adobe PCD
\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\caps\caps.db
Launch Acrobat and enter the serial number and check.

I have systems running both OS 9.2.2 and OS X 10.4. My G4 Dual 500 sees OS X shares just fine, but the OEM 9.2.2 installs on my Powerbook 1G Ti and Powermac Dual 1.25 do not (in Network Browser). What might be the issue?

The only way to install OS 9.2.2 is using the install CD/DVD that came with the Mac, since these are special versions of OS 9.2.2.
If you just want to run classic mode, copy the System Folder from another Mac that has OS 9.1 (or better with 9.2.1 or 9.2.2) installed. A USB thumb dive works great for this. Transfer the folder to your Mac. It won't interfere with your OS X system which is in a folder titled System.

Firefox is running when my laptop comes out of system standby, but the page that was displaying when the laptop went into sleep mode is now a white canvas that does not refresh.
The application is not hung, because I get prompted to save tabs when I quit, but for some reason, I can't prompt Firefox into refreshing the screen.
I'm running Firefox on a Thinkpad T400 which has Intel 4 series Express integrated Graphics.This also happened if the network adapter is disabled then enabled. My computer is Windows 7 x64. Firefox needs to be killed from taskman before it will load a new instance of the application. I can also reproduce with all add-ons disabled.

A liquid damaged iPhone 4 can be replaced by Apple for $149.
By the way... and electrical short can be dangerous, creating a fire or explosion hazard. You can see the short that's affecting the flash... It's the short you may not see that's affecting the battery and/or charging circuitry that's the problem.

I have just updated to the iOS7 on my i-phone4. Can someone PLEASE help me to cancel the voicememos from recording. I cannot stop it and have a red "recording paused bar at the top of my screen.
Thanks for that. I just realised that that is the way you have to close down all of your open apps. The way I got out of the recording memo was to tap the top of the screen and then I could cancel the recording.

Photosmart C6180 All-In-One...Black Ink will not print...the page is almost blank
The Printer seems to work correctly, but the page is almost blank. The only exceptions are a few faint characters, and sometimes a light line down the side of the page. Can you please help? The printer has not had much mileage.

RossI ran all those tests and did all the upplugging, turning off, etc. Do not think is a software / connection problem. Somehow I think the issue is in the black print head. All ink levels are very good. In the past, I have been running the printer with the print settings in the software at ... print in Greyscale / Black Only. Though the old black cartridge showed plenty of ink, I put in a new black cartridge and that is not the problem.
Even when I put a paper on the glass to copy and use the black copy button, it prints very faintly...almost not even there. Yet when I copy by pushing the Color Copy button on the printer and use a color original, colors seem to show up better.
I have used the tool, clean print heads, several times. There is a lot of ink in the squares, but it is all color. My gut is somehow the black print head is still plugged, or something like that. Though it says to use the "clean print heads" sparingly because it uses up ink, I saw in the self help to do this 3 times or more.
What can I do to get the black print head to print? I appreciate your comments. My wife is ready to toss it and move on.

"Some users have reported" is a mild way to put it. To answer your question "or is the software just not as good as 4.3?" more directly... it's only better in transparency between platforms. I just recently updated the software on my ihpone 4 to the iOS 7 and now my iTunes Store does not work. All of my other apps work perfectly fine except iTunes. Whenever I open the app, the icons for music and movies and tv shows come up, but when I touch them, nothing happens. The screen is just blank. And I already tried updating again, updating iTunes on my computer, turning my iphone off and on, and resetting my ihpone, and nothing works. Can anyone help?
I searched this site for ios 7 and itunes store and found numerous others with the same problem, and several suggested solutions. One said that they had blocked all cookies and that was apparently the problem. I had done the same thing - blocked all cookies. So I set cookies back to "third parties and advertisers" and that solved the problem. Now the itunes store is working.
