My Firefox button has totally disappeared, along with bookmarks tab. It opens immediately into a web page and only the open page tabs appear. Help.
touchpad seems hyperactive and I can't figure out how to fix that either, but things change when I'm just trying to move the cursor around.
You only see the orange Firefox button if the menu bar is hidden: View > Toolbars > [ ] Menu Bar
Most likely you are showing the Menu Bar. Right click on a toolbar space and uncheck Menu Bar - the Firefox button should appear. You can toggle from one to the other.

Two ways to print a portion of a page: zooming or using the Snapshot Tool.
ZOOMING:
Zoom into the area you want to print.
Click the Print icon.
Under "Pages to Print", make sure "Current view" is selected under "More options" (you may need to click "More options" to open it).
If you aren't satisfied with the preview, try clicking "Fit" under the Size button.
SNAPSHOT
Choose Edit > Take A Snapshot.
Drag a rectangle around the area you want to print.
Click the Print icon.
Under "Pages to Print", make sure that "Selected Graphic" is selected under "More options".
To enlarge the snapshot to fit the sheet of paper, choose "Fit" under the Size button.

HT1430 I held the sleep/wake button for a full minute, and only the Power Off slide appeared.
I cannot access the power off slide because there is a pop-up message saying "Cannot connect to iTunes store" to which I cannot select the OK button. How else can I power off the iPad2?
Try a reset: Simultaneously hold down the Home and the On button until the iPad shuts down. If the Off slider appears, ignore it. This should take about ten seconds, give or take. Once the shut down completes, use the On button to restart.

If the iPhoto app is still in the applications folder it's possible the library just needs to be rebuilt. Use Apple's instructions in:

I just installed Firefox 4. In the previous version you would open a new tab by clicking on the small "Open New Tab" button at the Right Hand Side of the Tabs. This button has now disappeared in my upgrade. Firefox help still says you can open a new Tab by using the "Open New Tab" Button so how do I get it back??
I got it back by going to "customize toolbar" and hitting "restore default set"! Now there is a small tab next to my open tabs with a "+" on it.

My iPad reading list and bookmarks have disappeared along with the ability to access or add to them.
1. Try a reset. Hold the Sleep and Home button down (together) for about 10 seconds until you see the Apple logo

My issue started with downloading the most current Firefox. Firefox opens multiple empty tabs (20 -30 or more) every time I use adobe reader. I changed the action for a content type to show adobe reader. It was showing open the file in adobe in Firefox. I uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox twice and this did not work. I uninstalled Adobe Reader and Air but could not uninstall Adobe Flash Player because of a conflicting Application with Firefox. I then uninstalled Firefox and was able to uninstall Adobe Flash Player. I reinstalled Adobe Reader only and then Firefox. I no longer have multiple empty tabs opening up but each time I open a pdf file, Firefox has to open as well. I am operating on Windows 7 Home edition. Can some one help this is a nuisance.

You can check the value of the plugin.disable_full_page_plugin_for_types pref on the about:config page and remove the application/pdf part if present or reset the pref to the default via the right-click context menu if you want to display PDF documents in Firefox with another application (i.e. not the built-in PDF Viewer).

I have an old MacBook Pro, which just upgraded to OS X 10.10.3...in the process iPhoto disappeared, along with all my photos! I'm shocked, and have no idea what to do (I'm the furthest thing from tech). Did the photos go into iCloud? I have a photos icon now in the place of iPhoto, but no photos! Any suggestions or help?

Are you referring to the *Do Not Disconnect* screen display while your iPod is plugged into and syncing with iTunes? Check out this Apple support document for its meaning and why you are receiving this icon. This icon always appears when you are syncing your iPod with iTunes. It's basically a warning message telling you that the iPod is currently in use and should not be removed.

FINDER disappears, along with desktop icons, when I plug in external drive

FINDER disappears, along with desktop icons, when I plug in an external memory card from my Nikon camera. This also happens regardless of which USB port I plug it in to. It didn't happen when I installed Leopard two weeks ago, but happens all the time now.
Interestingly, the desktop icons (hard drives and files) DO show up when I open any software program and try to open up a file. The hard drives and files show up in the Open File windows.

JonTHANK YOU! I've been having the same problem, and the solution you linked to worked perfectly for me. Somehow, my computer's sharing name had been deleted. Once I put that back in the file sharing preference I was able to reconnect my external drive without all Hades breaking loose.
This problem came on the heels of an aborted attempt to use a new Time Capsule (not ready for prime time) which I had to drive 50 miles to take back and replace with a new WD My Book -and I was afraid I was going to have to repeat the trip to take it back as well. -
When using Firefox as my browser, my "back" button no longer works? And by the way...getting help is a real pain in the butt on this site!!!!!

The following will result in complete loss of history if it comes down to deleting places.sqlite, so rename files rather than deleting. With Firefox down.

after downloading new version of Firefox 4 I am unable to use touch pad for scrolling. I have tried installing and uninstalling the new version but this problem has always been occuring. I do not know how to fix this problem so I always return to the old version.
If you have problems with updating or with the permissions then easiest is to download the full version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.
Download a new copy of the Firefox program and save the DMG file to the desktop

When I open Iphoto, I see all my photos for a second and then they disappear and only a white dotted box appears. Then I click on it and for photos is a triangle with an exclamation point. It doesn't happen to all but quite a lot. how to I get them back
Have you recently deleted photos using the finder or run clean up software? Is so restore your backup
If not the backup your iPhoto Library and launch iPhoto while depressing the option and command keys. Rebuild your database
