My Firefox cannot access mms://apasf.apa.at/radio_salzburg.

Dear Sir/Madam,
I enjoy using Firefox (much better than IE!!!). I am trying to listen to Radio Salzburg using online streaming. When I click on the link '''Radio Salzburg live hören''' on the web page '''http://salzburg.orf.at/magazin/studio/streaming/stories/42058/''', a small window opens for the streaming process to begin, only Firefox does not allow the connection to occur. I click on 'allow', but the message that Firefox does not want to connect reappears every time I click on allow (a vicious loop?). I have added the above web page address to my Tools/Options/Security Exceptions, yet Firefox still does not connect to the streaming service. I have tried to connect via IE, but when the streaming window appears, the status says 'buffering', but this freezes and nothing more happens. I believe there could be a problem with my firewall settings, but I have no idea what is preventing my PC from communicating with the live streaming of Radio Salzburg. Please can you help? Many thanks in advance for your time. Yours faithfully, Jeremy Weesbax

Your mms:// URL works nicely in my Firefox 3.6.9 (but only because I have modified it to handle mms). What version of Firefox are you using? Is that on a Microsoft windows PC?
Please type the exact message that you say indicates "that Firefox does not want to connect".
Have you successfully played any other mms:// streams with your current Firefox? What media player are you expecting it to play on?
Forget about Firefox for the moment, and run your media player. In the dropdown menu look for Play a URL and give it this: mms://apasf.apa.at/radio_salzburg
See how that goes. If your media player does play that stream, then you might like to follow this thread: http://support.mozilla.com/questions/747274

  • Cannot access MMS and Internet after OS upgrade

Hi all. I'm a new BB user. I got my Curve 9300 three weeks back. As soon as it was registered, I was prompted 2 upgrade the OS - which I did and subscribed 2 BB Protect. A friend sent me an MMS but I cannot view it as my settings r wrong. I cannot access internet most of the time, but can always access BBerry site. Please help. My carrier is MTN
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!!
I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2 each should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):
    1) Register HRT
KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network
    2) Delete and Resend Service Books
KB05000Delete the service book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account from the BlackBerry smartphone
KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
    3) Batt Pull Reboot
Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
Hopefully that will get things going again for you! If not, then you should contact your wireless service provider for formal support.
    Good luck!

  • Just installed firefox 3.6.12 on windows xp. Firefox cannot access the internet. Explorer works fine.

New install of firefox 3.6.12 on windows xp professional. Firefox can not access the internet. firefox starts but when you click on the get started button it comes back with a unable to fine mozilla.com error. Explorer works and I can ping mozilla.com

For me it seems to be related to the Shockwave Flash plugin (10.1 r85). Firefox seems to crash only when some flash pages have to be displayed and if I disable to the Flash player plugin Firefox don't crash anymore. This is not a solution just a diagnostic.

  • Firefox cannot access internet

    Hi,
Firefox is unable to access Internet. The Internet connection in the Phone is working, because all other Apps in my Phone are able to access Internet. I have tried to access several different web pages. Non of them work. The screen is just black, no error message are displayed. The strange thing is that Firefox Sync seems to be able to connect to the sync server, and I can download plugins.

This does not happen in other browsers and it happens on a variety of computers I have access to and would seem to be a common problem but I can find no identical cases in my searches of
Firefox , Facebook or windows help or Google search. My home machine is only a P2 with WINXPCORP but works fine and I have done all updates but still have this continuing problem every time I try to use Firefox
to access Facebook chat but it does not happen with IE or chrome
The response to clicking on chat button or friend chat is a black screen with small center square box with blue title bar that says

    Please Help.
    Thank you.

You need to do a clean reinstall.
Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.
    * Firefox 5.0.x: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html
    * Uninstall your current Firefox version.
    * Do not remove personal data when you uninstall the current version.
Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.
    * It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Firefox Profile Folder] and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox.

  • I cannot access the internet using firefox. The little toolbar identical (the far upper right in the screen) pops up and nothing else happerns. This has only started very recently and I have not had this problem in the past.

When I click on the icon for firefox, a little toolbar (the one you see in the top right corner of the screen) pops up and nothing else happens. I'll close it out and retry, with only the same results. I tried Firefox safemode, with the same result. Like there is something blocking me, but I don't know what. It doesn't matter if I've been on the computer for some time or just started up, I cannot access the web thru Firefox. This has only started in the last couple days. Previously, I've never had this problem. I haven't loaded any new programs anytime recently to account for this. I use Norton for my anti virus program which is the newest and had since end of December. I am not happy having to use the windows internet explorer, so would be very happy to get this resolved. Should I uninstall the mozilla program, and then reinstall it?

"The wireless router was connected to the company server only for the purpose of getting me online through Airport because I couldn't access it using an ethernet connection"
Could not access it because their network security blocked you by intent, or had some unknown technical difficulty?
Unless you are blocked by intent or ommission (if they have to explicitly allow your machine) I can think of no technical reason why your wired connection should not both get you on their network and on the internet in general. You should not need to be dual homed (though dual homing should work as well).
Please answer the questions above when you can - I think solving the wired LAN issue will be easier if you are not being intentionally blocked.

  • I cannot access my router's web configuration interface since Firefox 4. It does not let me enter a password with the username blank (as specified by the router manufacturer). Is there a workaround for this?

since updating to Firefox 4, I cannot access my router's configuration page (http://192.168.x.x). When prompted for the username and password,Firefox's log in window does not accept a blank username field (The router does not require a username, only a password, and it's the default password). If I click OK, the password entry just comes up again. This works fine in other browsers. Is there anything I can do about this?

I had this issue, too, and fixed it by turning off the option "Tell Websites I do not want to be tracked" under Options->Advanced->Browsing.

Installed FF 16, 17, 18. Will not open in normal administrator login, nor with "Run as administrator" but will in W7 safe mode. Changed permissions (had to do it in W7 Safe Mode, normal login would not allow (logged in as an administrator) could not delete the Mozilla files in normal login. On rare occasions, with a new install, I could get it to open once, then not again. Searched the reg for any mention of Mozilla or FF and cleaned it. Tried FF safe mode, no luck. Checked permissions after taking ownership and propagating full ownership rights to all FF files, many reboots, no luck. Chrome, IE and SeaMonkey work fine. Using a fairly new install of W7 Professional 64 bit, on a Dell Optiplex 990 i7, 16GB ram. Had the same problem with another user on an identical box. No problem on other computers No other program problems.

I should have been a bit more definitive.
I have uninstalled FF, with the windows uninstaller, by manually cleaning the files and the registry of any mention of FF or Mozilla, and by running Revo uninstaller - always rebooting and checking to see if the files are indeed gone. (I have set windows file preferences to see all files, including system files.) I have run 4 AV/malware scanners and found nothing but a few tracking cookies. I download, from Mozilla.org, (http://download.cdn.mozilla.net/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/18.0/win32/en-US/Firefox%20Setup%2018.0.exe) a fresh copy of the Firefox Setup 18.0.exe each time and install when logged in as an administrator and choose "Run as Administrator". I get the same result each time I try to open Firefox. Consistently does not open, gives the error: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla\firefox.exe Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item." This happens even when I run the .exe file from the x86 program directory. I have also attempted to run in XPsp3 compatibility mode to no avail,
    I make the following assumptions:
    The system is not infected
    I am doing clean installs
There is no existing trace of FF on the system
I get identical results on one other W7 64 bit Optiplex 990 system with an i7 processor and 16 GB or ram.
I CAN run in windows safe mode with networking.
I have no other software or hardware issues.

  • I cannot access gmail via Firefox 3.6.22

Because you have upgraded Firefox and seen to it that the new version will not work well with older versions of OS X (mine is 10.4.11) I cannot access my gmail any longer via Firefox. Gmail no longer supports the older Firefox. You are all in cahoots. This kind of planned obsolescence is disgusting. It forces people to continue upgrading and spending. Capitalists! disgusting!

Nope. I have a mac, running OS X 10.4.11, and I can no longer access gmail if I use the Firefox browser. it just spins it wheels. I can however access it no problem with Camino. Sure, not all options are now available to me, but I frankly dont care. I just want to access my mail. No go with Firefox.

  • FIREFOX has stopped working is the message box ... cannot access

For the past week on attempting to open FIREFOX, i get an instant message box "FIREFOX has stopped working" this is followed by a second box "Windows is checking ..etc " and that is it, just cannot access F/FOX.
I am having exactly the same issue with THUNDERBIRD.
I am a "computer igno" and do not want to lose address books/contacts etc via an "uninstall/install".
have tried "start up repair" and 'restore using last known good configuration' without success.
any advice to resolve this issue, in simple layman terms, would be appreciated ... many thanks.

cor-el ... thank you for your response. i will need to work my way through the many possible fixes within those articles.
my concern is that my problem may not be a crash" or a "hang" given that i cannot access "FIREFOX" at all .. hence the message "firefox has stopped working".
thanks again .. tomorrow will hopefully be "fix" day after a week away.
