  • Everytime I try to use "send link" Firefox crashes! How can I fix this?

Every time I click on "Send Link" to send a webpage to someone, Firefox will crash. This has only started recently, used to be able to do this. I believe the box says "Firefox has unexpectedly stopped working, then closes

Since this all happening when using an app, you can try doing a reset.
Hold down the home/sleep button together until you see the apple logo and then release, then wait for the phone to boot back up.

  • Firefox crashing randomly how can I fix this?

I have already tried restart in safe mode but it still crashes. Installing another profile is not really an option because of my fast dial its not something I can backup and keep the settings. I have the crash reports... I am using Firefox 29 RC1. I already went back to 28.0 final not beta and its still crashing. This just started as you can tell.

'''Please do not downgrade to unsuported insecure versions of Firefox'''
Not updating Firefox is usually considered bad practice.
    * Please see the article [[Install an older version of Firefox]] <br /> That includes the links you need for old versions.
    * And glance at https://www.mozilla.org/security/known-vulnerabilities/firefox.html
Once a new Released out and security fixes are made and publicised bad guys take advantage of the exploits and that puts your '''System and Personal Data at an increased risk. ''' <br />Those with strong reasons for using an insecure version and understanding the risks may take appropriate steps to mitigate the risk. Possibly using a Virtual Machine, maybe having a well rehearsed bare metal restore procedure.
Perhaps if you say why you do not wish to upgrade we may be able to suggest a suitable way forward with an upgrade and some sort of workaround.
Or are you talking as an administrator of a network of Computers, in which case a special Release of Firefox may be more appropriate.
If the problem relates to Firefox 29 these articles may help
    * [[Learn more about the design of the new Firefox]]
    * [[What happened to the Add-on Bar?]]
    * [[How to make the new Firefox look like the old Firefox]]
It may also be worth noting that Fx29 now respects the setting to not upgrade until you agree. Firefox 28 upgraded regardless of the setting if you used the ''about'' dialogue to check the version.
Actually, I believe the problem is 29.0.1 since the crashes have only been going on for a few days. I've reverted to 29.0.
In addition, the update facility does not work as advertised. "Check for updates but let me choose whether to install them" installs them without asking. I have had to turn updates off to save myself from further inconvenience.

The updates problem was solved by a fix in Firefox 29. Firefox 28 will update if you Check the Version using about firefox, Firefox will not update without your permission in those circumstances.

    I get the following error:
Your computer must be restarted to complete a previous upgrade of Firefox. Do you want to reboot now?
I will reboot but the following message keeps on popping up when I try to start Fireofox. How can I fix this?

You can undo your permission changes. Probably the most relevant one is cookies. Try one or both of these methods:
    (1) Page Info > Permissions tab
While viewing a page on the site:
    * right-click and choose View Page Info > Permissions
    * Alt+t (open the classic Tools menu) > Page Info > Permissions
    (2) about:permissions
In a new tab, type or paste '''about:permissions''' and press Enter. Allow a few moments for the list on the left to populate, as this information needs to be extracted from a database.
Then type or paste ''rcn''' in the search box above the list to filter it to the most relevant domains. When you highlight a domain, you can adjust its permissions in the right pane.
    Any luck?

My daughter forgot her password and now her ipod has locked her out ir says disabled connect to itunes.  The computer she last synced to has crashed.  How can I unlock this ipod?

The device will have to be restored but without the last computer it was synced to, that's not a possibility.
Take the iPod to an Apple store or Apple certified repair shop.
You will need a computer in order to sync, restore, and update the iPod in the future.

  • When I do a search, with MSN as my homepage, it pops up in a new window not a tab like it used to. MSN says it is Firefox related. How do I fix this? I have the option selected to open new windows in tabs instead and it still won't work.

    <blockquote>Locking duplicate thread.<br>
    Please continue here: [/questions/832115]</blockquote><br>
I use Firefox 4.0.1 and have MSN set as my homepage. Recently, even with the option set to make windows open in tabs instead, if I do searches on the MSN page, the results pop up in a new window. I contacted MSN and they said it is something to do with Firefox. It didn't use to do this, even after initially upgraded to 4.0.1, but started about a week ago and even with me doing nothing to my computer. How do I get this to stop and go back to new tabs instead?
It does not do this using Google, AOL, Yahoo, or another other search, just MSN/Bing.

That's strange. It's possible that you are having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is changing your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal? Also have you tried uninstalling & re-installing flash? If you need help un-installing Flash see http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-windows.html. You also could try safe mode. See https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-using-safe-mode?redirectlocale=en-US&redirectslug=Safe+Mode .

  • I cannot email a link to any web page from Firefox 22. How can I fix this?

I am unable to email a link to any webpage from Firefox 22. I have tried everything I can find to fix it. Nothing works.
There is no longer the ability to right click and send an email link. The "Email link" in the "file" drop down on the menu bar doesn't work either. I even tried one add on program for emailing links. That didn't work.
If I didn't lose all of my bookmarks, I would reset to the Firefox defaults. I have had to resort to using Chrome to send any links to webpages.
There has to be some way to fix this. Please help if you can.
    Thanks

Make sure that you have set a default mail program properly.

  • Why does my Firefox crash and how do I fix it?

Often, when I start Firefox, it immediately crashes. But not always right away. Sometimes it takes a few seconds or I have to type something into Google or open a page and than it crashes. And sometimes it doesn't crash at all. It started on 31.03.2015 and I haven't been able to find the source. My plugins are updated, I am using the newest Firefox-Uptade, my Windows is updated, my Anti-Spyware programs detect no virus, even if I start it in the save mode (with deactivated add-ons) it crashes. Thunderbird also crashes, but not as much as Firefox.
The only big change before Firefox started crashing is that I exchanged my 1GB RAM for 4GB RAM but I used RAM that is supposed to be compatible to my notebook.

  • After installing the Current Firefox 30, the browser keeps crashing. How do I fix this? (/questions/999699)

I am using win 7 and get multiple crashes randomly but it can be reliably generated on trying to open http://www.standard.co.uk/news/ .
I dont want to give up on Firefox but I have been trying so many solutions with no success, and I'am just finding it easier to use Opera and Chrome depending on my mood.

You can check for issues caused by plugins and set all plugins to "Ask to Activate" on the "Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Plugins" page (plugins are not affected by Firefox Safe Mode)
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.
*Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
*Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window
    *https://support.mozilla.org/kb/Safe+Mode
You can try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.
*Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"
You need to close and restart Firefox after toggling this setting.

  • Ever since installing Firefox 29, the browser keeps crashing. How do I fix this?

About a week ago, my browser shifted to the new version of Firefox, version 29. Ever since then, I have had repeated random crashes multiple times a day and even an occasional blue screen incident. The browser has become so unstable as to be useless. If I'm counting right, this has generated over 50 crash reports since the upgrade; here's the tags for the last five:

I've shifted over to Chrome until this can be resolved, but I don't want to stay there because of the privacy issues.

I uninstalled Firefox. On the reinstall, the .exe interrupted and crashed due to a corrupt file. At this point, it's more headache than I want to deal with. I'm leaving it uninstalled and going with Chrome (now that I've found some suitable means of dealing with the privacy issue) until Firefox comes out with Version 30.
Sorry, guys, but v. 29 was just too horribly buggy an experience for me to want to repeat.
