My firefox doesn't upload pdf files. It only opens a window with the link and a white or black page...

Installed firefox a few days ago.
Have Adobe Acrobat program.

Check your downloads ("Ctrl+J").
A PDF will be downloaded whether you choose to view in Firefox or choose to view outside of Firefox for more control. A tab would be created with no content if you had it open in a new tab and is not read in Firefox.
The following may be of interest to you but it is geared to use of the (Free) Adobe Reader.

Does Firefox switch to full screen if you press F11 ?
You can also try the F10 key to see if that brings up the menu bar.

  • Pdf files wil not open under Windows Live Mail

PDF Files will not open in WIndows Live Mail. I deinstalled Adobe Reader and reinstalled a more recent version but to no avail. It will open very well using WIndows explorer or when opening the reader. Any clues someone?

WLM is version 2009 14.0.8117.0416. I'm running under Vista and all other more recent versions are not compatible. The file association has been made and I can open all pdf files in Windows explorer. Under Outlook mail it works as well. It worked until recently when I loaded a program that was supposed to convert pdf files to Word but that did not work so I had to deinstall it and redo the file association. It worked everywher except in WLM.

  • Why do PDF files in email open in safari with a quick time logo but only one page shows and I can't scroll through the following pages?

Why do PDF files in email open in safari with a quick time logo but only one page shows and I can't scroll through the following pages?

Try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.

  • When a linked .pdf is clicked, it downloads rather than following the link and opening in another safari window.

When a linked .pdf is clicked, it downloads rather than following the link and opening in another safari window.

Thanks for the tip, but I had already tried this and it did not help. The File still downloads and , at the same time, a new Safari window opens - but the Safari window is blank.
Another discussion thread related to this problem is:
How do I prevent automatic downloading of .pdf files?
but this deals  with Safari 5.1 which evidently has a problem with Adobe Reader.
I am using Safari 5.0, so the suggested solutions do not apply. ( I tried them anyway, but they did not work.)

  • I have a problem with uploading pdf files. This was raised in April by Mariano and the solution given - but the link to the solution does not work. How do I get to the solution?

I have just come across this problem uploading pdf files on FF 3.6. Mariano posted this same problem on 5 Apr ( I found his post after a Google search as a search of this Forum gave no result). It is shown as "solved" but when I click on the Show Solution link it just loops back to the question.
How do I get to see the solution?

The following line tells me that this is not a template file, but a document created from a template called index.dwt
    <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"><!-- InstanceBegin template="/Templates/index.dwt" codeOutsideHTMLIsLocked="false" -->
This means that you saved a child document as a template file at some stage.
If you go to Modify->Templates->Detach from Template, you can remove the template structure from your document. All you then need to do is to re-save the document as a template.

  • When wanting to download a PDF file from a site, when cliicking on the link, Firefox 3.6.13 goes to a blank page. Previous versions worked perfectly. How do I fix this please?

Since no window shows up asking where to download, etc as happens in other browsers (Opera) and in previous versions of Firefox, no able to click on a web site link to download a PDF file. Just goes to a blank page.

Some firewalls like Kaspersky can block content and send a 1x1 GIF image instead.

  • PDF files are not opening even i have latest reader and re-installed firefox

I am able to open in IE and Chrome but in FF it always shows that not able to open - the reader plug-in starts, open a blank window with caption "PDF might not be displayed properly" when downloaded, it opens fine with Adobe Reader.

hello vijayabhaskarv, that sounds as if you're using the pdf viewer built into firefox per default, which might not work in all situations. please see the following article in order to select a different plugin to render pdf files: [[How to disable the built-in PDF viewer and use another viewer]]

  • Recently Firefox is not displaying PDF files. It acts like it loads the PDF but there is nothing there but the 'program' that the document should be shown in.

This started with Firefox 20 and still persists with Firefox 21. It never happened before. Everything is up to date. However, the PDFs don't display. Sometimes I can see the progress bar showing a load and sometimes it's just the normal PDF program background, but regardless, it is not displaying. What's happening with this?
By the way, I end up having to go to Chrome to view the PDF since I cannot get them to work in Firefox.

Firefox 19 introduced an integrated PDF viewer. Unfortunately, it can't handle all of the formats and features supported by the Adobe plugin (yet). To switch, check out this article: [[How to disable the built-in PDF viewer and use another viewer]]. Does that solve it?

  • .pdf files don't open after having download the creative cloud because of a previous trial version

    Dear,
I used a trial version of acrobat pro for a month. After the trial I downloaded the creative cloud to enjoy all the programs.
The creative cloud is well installed on my computer but now every time I try to open a .pdf document it refers to the trial saying that it is over and that I should subscribe, but I did!
I am kind of desperate, I can't open .pdf files.
    Can anyhow help?
    Thank you!
    Lionel

I am not one to recommend reinstall, but that might be required. One of the problems with CC is that it leaves some info in the system that makes it think it is installed, even after you uninstall it. There is a fix for that, but I don't remember it (right now I am not remembering much with pneumonia). If you decide to uninstall, you should go through the uninstall process (there may be a special uninstall for CC that I have not seen). Then run Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs. Remove any leftover part of the Acrobat folder, reboot, and reinstall. It may reinstall or you might run into that other fix that is needed. In that case you will have to search the forum.

  • Firefox tries to save PDF files instead of opening

When I click on PDF links Firefox tries to save them instead of opening them. This is so even though in "Options" under "Applications" I have all Adobe files set to "Use Adobe Reader".

You get the "Open/Save/Cancel" dialog, same as if you selected "Always Ask"?
When Firefox no longer responds to changes in the Application preferences, you sometimes need to reset those preferences, which involves deleting a settings file. This article has the steps for that under the heading "Reset download actions for all file types":

  • Finding pdf files on my android based smartphone with the new Adobe Acrobat DC

All of a sudden, I no longer have Adobe Reader, which was very efficient.
Had a directory so that I could access all of my files.
    Highlight and comment tools.
    Now I have nothing.
It would have been better to provide an option to retain the app rather than  be upgraded to an app that doesn't work for me, period.

    Hi Hans
You can still browse through all documents on your device. Please follow the instructions here:
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/rm/android/acrobatandroid_en/open.html
This should bring up you system file browser and you can browse through your files on the device as well as those on cloud integrations like Google Drive, Dropbox, etc.
All the Comment Tools are now in the Comment Tool. Please follow MobileDevCK's response on this thread:
How do I add text or highlight a document?
    Thanks

  • I can not fint the texture files, which should have been installed with the CS6 and CC? why?

I installed Photoshop CS6 a while back. Later on I discovered that the texture files where missing, or not included? Later I installed Photoshop CC, to see if the texture files were included here. But no, it was not. As far as I concern, I know that the texture files are included, and should have been installed, but they were not. Someone have any idea why?

In Photoshop CC 2014, Filter Gallery opens the dialog below, and "Texture" is the last folder.
