My firefox freezes when i open pdf document on the net

when ever I'm opening any pdf documents on the net freezes so I taught it was my acrobat reader. I have updated it but still cannot open.

Does this has anything to do with Adobe?

  • Can I set up safari to automatically open PDF documents in the pages app?

Can I set up safari to automatically open PDF documents from the internet into the pages app?

No - and you can't open pdf files in the Pages app on the iPad anyway as far as I know. You can export a Pages file as a pdf but you can't open them in Pages.

How do I open a pdf document on the website (wordpress) with acrobat reading. I need on this site [url deleted by host]

You need to have Adobe Reader installed to read pdf files. If that doesn't work, please describe the error message you get. But when posting please post your problem to the Adobe Reader forum. State the version of Reader, your OS, and your browser.

  • Firefox freezes when I open it after less than a minute of searching. It freezes regardless of the website I'm on. I've tried reinstalling it several times and have even tried a clean reinstall but it didn't work.

When I open it, Firefox freezes after less than a minute of use. After waiting a few minutes, it unfreezes but then freezes again a few seconds later. This happens regardless of the website I'm on. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling it and the problem didn't go away. I've even tried a clean reinstallation but it didn't work. This only happens on Firefox. IE and Safari work fine.

-Plug your MacBook into a power source.
-Click on the Apple menu and select "System Preferences".
-Click on the "Energy Saver" icon.
    -Click on the "Options" tab.
-Uncheck the box labeled "Automatically reduce brightness of display before display sleep"
-At the top, next to "Settings for:", select "Battery" from the drop down menu.
-Uncheck the box labeled "Automatically reduce brightness of display before display sleep"

  • Indesign CS4 Premium  freezing when you open new document

I have a serious issue with my CS4 Premium. Indesign freezes/crashes when ever i start the program and open a new document. I have deleted the prefrences folder, uninstalled and installed more than once, and tried all the troubleshooting steps on the Adobe website. I have also deleted the SING folder in fonts, deleted caches, and tried a trial version of indesign on my Mac but it has the same problem. This does not happen with other CS4 apps and I dont know what else to do but . I downloaded the update but it is not fixing it.
2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
    2GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM
    Mac OS X Version 10.5.6

I just got off the phone with Adobe support. The problem seems to be with a file in the SING folder (Library > Application Support > Adobe > SING). When this folder was moved to the Desktop and InDesign restarted, the program operated properly.
Then some additional investigation was done. After InDesign was shut down, the SING folder was moved back into the Adobe folder and opened. Inside the SING folder were a pair of nested folders: Mark II > Datastore. The file SINGmeta.dat inside the Datastore folder was trashed and the program restarted. Again it and worked properly. (Although, for some reason, a Sample Button library window was opened?! I've never used it.)
One piece of background: the only difference between my earlier use of InDesign and my current use was that earlier I was working on a Mac G5. I transferred the files to a new Quad-Core Intel Xeon machine and couldn't open it there.
Having spent several hours troubleshooting this, I hope this helps someone.

  • Why does my Firefox freeze when I open my news feed on Facebook?

For a few days now, everytime I go to my news feed on Facebook, Firefox freezes and I have to force it to stop. This means everytime I click on the Facebook logo or go to www.facebook.com.
I have already reinitialised Firefox, but that doesn't help the problem.
    Why is this happening?

Ok... I found a temporarily fix... go to facebook.com, then click the (X) button in the bar to make the page stop loading. it should only be half loaded... if firefox locks up, you waited too long. Click on your name in the corner. Then when that loads, click home, next to your name!!!!! There is your news feed! Hope this works... It worked for me. Enjoy!!!

  • Firefox freezes when it opens

Every time I open Firefox , it hangs up and does not allow me to use the menus or the webpage. Restore session does the same thing. So does opening Firefox in safe mode. The only way to get out of the session is to close the application by pressing alt ctrl delete and end process. I CAN NOT USE ANY WEBPAGE IN WHEN USING FIREFOX AS MY INTERNET BROWSER.
Firefox has been very slow to go to next window for a few weeks.

This happens consistently since upgrading to Firefox 3.6.6
It is *not* related to the issue referenced in the thread linked by Howie, which is talking about general Evony performance issues.
Using Firefox 3.6.6 and Flash 10.1, log into evony and try to accept a quest, the "add bookmark" window will pop up, and the plugin container freezes. Killing the plugin container process shuts down Flash and enables Firefox to continue functioning, but as soon as you log back into Evony and try to accept a quest, it happens again.
Running Firefox 3.6.6 on Windows 7 64bit (but running 32 bit Firefox).

  • Firefox freezes when I open up options or try to download something.

Whenever I open up options or try to download a file (music, word document, etc.) Firefox will freeze and I have to end program from the task manager and re-open it.

At one point I was using FlashGot and disabled/removed it thinking that it might be the source of this problem. This does not appear to be related to minor issues associated with plug-ins, extensions, or configuration files. I have completely uninstalled the product and wiped all files from both my local application information folders and the program files directory, yet the problem persists after a clean install. This holds true for all versions - 3.6.18, 4.0, 5.o. I finally found an old 3.0.1 installation that actually works.
Unless I am missing something that needs to be removed, the behavior of my system would suggest the there is something in the registry that causes this condition.

  • Firefox 7 will not open pdf documents. Makes it completely worthless given the large number of documents that are in pdf. How do I get my pdf files to open up?

I have tried a ton of the older help suggestions. I cannot find a cure for this problem for Firefox 7. If I cannot get it to work, I will have not choice but to use the hated IE.

I would remove the PDF Download add-on that's listed in your details. (It gets terrible reviews.) Then it should be possible to set Adobe Reader as the default application for pdf in Firefox options. And maybe the Adobe PDF Plug-In will be able to work again.

  • Firefox freezes when loading some web pages then the computer locks up

Sometimes, when loading a website, the browser freezes. Then the computer locks up and I have to use the power button to turn it off. There seems to be no pattern to this problem. I'm also not sure whether or not the problem begins within Firefox, but a web page was loading every time it happened. It has only started happening this week.

I seem to be having a very similar, if not exactly the same issue. I'm using the latest production FF 11.0 release on Win7 64 and as with this not only does FF freeze, but I can't task switch, or anything. The one thing I've noticed is that when the lockup happens, it always appears to be loading some custom font from a CDN, if I breathe deeply and slowly and allow the request to complete everything seems to eventually unfreeze and I can continue, so maybe something to do with implementation of custom font loading?

  • Firefox freezes when saving, printing, or otherwise opening "sub-windows"

Firefox freezes when I open a window to save, print, etc. - not always, but far too often. If I dare try to choose another folder in which to save, I'm even more likely to make it freeze.
When it happens for the first time after opening Firefox, I can often wait several minutes, then it unfreezes, and I can then do one or two more clicks (e.g., scroll, save, etc.) before it freezes again. Otherwise (or the next time, if I didn't restart Firefox in the meantime), the program just gets completely unresponsive, and I have to close it via the Task Manager. So there's unfortunately no error message, crash ID, etc.
Possibly related: When I'm using Firefox for a while (with many Firefox windows open), I'm often not getting menus displayed anymore, just the outline of the menus. The program still reacts to clicks into the outline, but it's like driving blindfolded... Menus include those from the menu bar, those from right-clicking into a website, or those from Adblock Plus (icon in the bar, at the right bottom of each window).
I'm currently still using 3.6.13 (with Adblock Plus) on a Windows 7 (x64) machine. The problem has persisted long before I've updated to this or previous Firefox versions... possibly since I've been using it on this computer (= summer 2010), but I'm not sure. I should add that I *am* using Firefox with lots (!) of Firefox windows open simultaneously, and I often let my computer hibernate rather than shut it down every single time I walk away... but I've been doing that for at least 5 years now (using tons of Firefox windows even much longer, still with Windows 95 or 98), and the problem is new. And limited to Firefox. (Indeed I can even open pages, on which Firefox has just crashed, in Internet Explorer or Opera, and then peacefully save, print, etc. there.)
I'd prefer to keep Firefox as my standard browser, but the problem is getting too annoying! Thanks for your help!!

    Hi Susan,
The Adobe plugin in Internet Explorer is a bit different from the one in Firefox, however they're all made by Adobe and they usually come with Adobe Reader.
When you open a PDF file in Firefox, it "calls" Adobe Reader to help it read the file. In this case, the Adobe Reader takes over, and it is responsible for freezing your browser.
I suggest you try the last 4 solutions presented on the [[Opening PDF files within Firefox]] (start with "Re-install the plugin" through "Re-install Adobe Reader").
    Good Luck :D

  • Uable to open PDF document in proper format on blackberry browser

We are trying to open a document hosted in MOSS document library using blackberry browser. The document type can word, excel, power point, pdf. But when we are trying to open PDF document using blackberry browser the document is displayed as long string of text message rather than PDF document and strips all the formatting.
But if we email the same document and try opening that in blackberry then it works fine. Please share your thoughts, how we can properly render these documents on blackberry browser. Because this is a show stopper for our solution approach in which user can open any document on his blackberry.
