My Firefox is still crashing and I didn't receive a response to my last few questions

I had posted this thread before but none of the "solutions" solved my problem. I'm going to upload this thread again because my Firefox keeps crashing.
Here is the original question, my last two posts never received any responses.

jive,
In this posting - https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1015871#answer-617224 - '''cor-el''' provided a lot of suggestions. You responded about the anti-malware recommendations, but I don't see a response about the upper part of that posting, above the line.

"Moderators" for the most part are '''not''' Mozilla employees. We're just other users who volunteer their time to help other Firefox users (and other Mozilla projects)''.
As far as what is contained in the Crash Reports, open them and read them?
I don't expect you to understand what they way, but you can see the data which is submitted to Mozilla to help you and to help improve Firefox by providing feedback about what caused each crash.
As far as being told something before, you need to listen more to the contributors who have many tens of thousands of support answers. Logic would dictate that they might just know a little bit more than other contributors, and / or "have been around the block more times". ''No slight intended towards contributors who haven't been around here as long or have a "real life" outside of this forum, or have a job - I am retired, AARP card and all.''
cor-el has been around here since ''like'' 2006; he and I did some of the beta testing of this forum before it went live. As far as the total number of postings listed for cor-el, he could easily have double the number posted below his avatar currently. This forum software replaced a different package back in July 2010, and the "counts" started all over again at zero.
''I don't have the exact number, but I had slightly over 30,000 "answers" postings with the older software - I still haven't surpassed that count with the current software in about the same amount of elapsed time. [In my previous career I did a bit of statistical work - I record "numbers".''

Every time Firefox opened

You get message "firefox is still running" and computer restart doesn't help you. Try the advice below.
Make sure Firefox isn't running (end firefox.exe process in Task Manager or restart computer)
Find your profile folder
C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\xxxxxxxx.default
find file "parent.lock" in it and delete it (the file is empty, its function is to signify to Firefox whether it's already open or not).
Then try to open Firefox again. Will it start or not? What will it say?

• I close Firefox session and then try to open a new browser window - get message that Firefox is still running and I need to shut down and restart. Need a solution

I close a Firefox browser and at a later time want to open a new browser window but get message "Firefox is still running and I need to shut down before I can open a new session" I do not want to shut down as this is laborious - I can go into task manager and processes and click on Firefox and end session that way but this is not the solution. Firefox seems to be running in background but I cannot open a new session window without doing on of the above.

Have a look at this post, see if it is of any help (though related to Vista, but same issue can be there with Window 7 also)

• When I try to close all programs it tells me firefox is still running and I have to close it first but it is not running!

After I have finished working on my computer, I close it all out and shut the monitor off. Lately it will not let me close out saying that firefox is still open and I should close it first. I cannot see anything that indicates firefox is running.

It sounds like it is hanging at exit, for details on how to troubleshoot that see either of these links:

All you need to do is wait. While Firefox appears closed, it's not. It doing house cleaning. Cleaning out cookies and cache. How long it takes depends upon how much garbage you have collected.
If you start the Task Manager and open the Process window, you will be able to see when Firefox has finished up and closed down.
If you forced Firefox to close using the task manager, then the house keeping process seems to freeze up.
Also, as you've already found out from the above link, some programs and plugins will prevent Firefox from closing properly. I've found this less common then simply being in a hurry. But you need to also consider it.

• 5 months passed and I didn't receive an item. and I can't open a request (no more option)

5 months passed and I didn't receive an item. and I can't open a request (no more such an option). the item is new hot European women car pattern handbag fashion shoulder messenger bag ( 181348649935 )

Oh dear.EBay only allows 45 days for a dispute to be opened for Item Not Recieved.Normal delivery, in my experience, would be15 days from Europe*20 days from North America30 days from Asia.**At that point, you should be asking the seller for the date of shipping, the service used and the tracking number. It is not important that the seller have a tracking number, on low cost items there won't be one. You want his response. If the response is unsatisfactory (anything less than a useable tracking number or a full refund is unsatisfactory) then move to the Dispute within 45 days. Since January, Paypal has allowed refund claims to be opened for 180 days. That's six months but act today. So you should go to your PP account and look for the Resolution Centre on the left side of your Payments page. You will need the number of the PP transaction. If the seller cannot prove delivery, he will be required to refund your original payment. If he doesn't , PP will refund you and go after the seller for their money. Hard. If neither works, you can try going to the credit card you really paid with (PP is really just a useful mediator) and phone the 1-800 number on the card. Ask the customer service rep about a chargeback. So you have three levels of protection.Go get your money. *Europeans tend to ship by Air Mail.**Asian sellers will tell you it takes longer. Maybe, but usually this is a sign that you are being scammed.

• I'm on Firefox 35 now and Shockwave Flash still crashes and freezes up my Firefox. Please fix this for any future version.

I wanted this fixed for Firefox 34, but nope. It still crashes with "Shockwave Flash may be busy" and I am getting sick of hitting Ctrl+Alt+Delete to go to the task manager and ending firefox.exe. It's not the 1990's anymore. It's 2015.

• Firefox is still crashing too often. This problem has been ongoig for months, and Firefox is not responding to crash reports.

Firefox crashes unexpectedly when loading some pages. It does not crash on specific pages. It will crash unexpectedly on any website.
I have settings set to send reports to Firefox, but I have never received a response or fix.
I tried fixing the problem using the knowledge base. It did not fix the problem.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

• While on Firefox my computer crashed and firefox will not open. Everthing else runs fine, how do I fix this?

I'm using a new Asus netbook and have no idea what caused the crash. I tried restarting firefox in the crash pop up window, nothing happens. I tried quitting firefox and then restarting in the crash window, it sends a report and that's all. I cant open firefox. I have power cycled the computer several times, tried to checking and install all plug ins, re-install firefox, uninstall and then reinstall ( could not reinstall), I restored the computer to the previous day and it still wont open. I tried opening it safe mode, I tried opening the computer in safemode, I still can't open firefox. I also tried to test for a virus by creating a notepad document on the desktop and naming in firefox.exe. Notepad ran fine. I also renamed firefox.exe to firefox3.exe. This didn't work and changed the name back.
What do I do now?
The computer I'm sending this from is not the one that crashed

Both your Conduit Engine, particularly, and Alexa Toolbar are known troublemakers. I would advise Googling both for advice and removal instructions.
I'm not sure it is a good idea to have both Foxit and Adobe Reader.

• A msg appears that Firefox is still operating and to close it. However it is not operating. What can I do? It does not show up on the Task Mgr window.

I had a crash of Firefox and since then I can not open it again. The msg appears that Firefox is already in use; however, I deleted Firefox from my system and tried to download a new version to no avail. I can not install the new version because I get a msg that Firefox is still running. I am using E IE for now and this is causing some problems. I would like to use Firefox but am not certain how to rectify this problem. Reboot did not solve the problem.

Sounds like Firefox is "hanging at exit". That problem is frequently caused by an Extension or a Plugin. Read all of the following articles.

• Firefox 30: still crashes with or without addons enabled

I have tried everything mentioned in every other forum, i have created another profile, no fix, i have disabled all add ons no fix, it still crashes in safe mode, i have uninstalled and reinstalled fifefox 30: no fix, i have updated drivers , I have uppdated windows 7 ultimate, i have updated Flash all no fix, I have updated anti virus no fix, i have uninstalled and reinstalled firefox no fix, issues started about 4 days ago always crashes when trying to play embedded vidio and also when using face book, have returned windows to a restore point of 10 days ago no fix,
now totaslly and utterly flummuxed. One final point everything works fine in IE

I should have read more into your problem.
Your crashes are caused by (again) Flash. Flash is problematic and Mozilla is in the process of replacing that piece of crap with Shumway. It's present in the latest Nightly but not working yet. I hope it's done soon. :)
Try to disable Protected Mode in Flash 11.3 and above by adding the line ProtectedMode=0 to the Flash "mms.cfg" file located in one of these locations: [46]
(Windows 32bit) C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash
(Windows 64bit) C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash
For example, on a Windows 7 64-bit system, open the C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash folder, copy the file "mms.cfg" to the desktop, open it in Notepad, add a new line
ProtectedMode=0
and then close Notepad, saving your changes. Next, go back to the C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash folder, rename the original file to "mms.cfgBAK" (to save it as a backup) and then drag and drop in the modified "mms.cfg" file from the desktop. [47] [48] [49]
Note: To re-enable Flash Protected Mode, either restore a backup of the original mms.cfg file, if you saved one, or else re-edit the mms.cfg file to remove the
ProtectedMode=0 l
line you added. Updating Flash Player or installing a newer version does not automatically re-enable Protected Mode
If that doesn't work, Try disabling Hardware Acceleration.
