My firefox keeps flooding me with downloads and advertising. i don't know what to do
no matter what i try to do on firefox i get interrupted by downloads. help. i think i already reinstalled it once and now it is worse. i have the pop ups blocked but it is not helping. i cannot tell which downloads are spam.
hello, this sounds like a problem possibly caused by malware on your pc. please go to ''firefox > addons > extensions'' & remove any suspicious entries (toolbars, things that you have not installed intentionally, don't know what purpose they serve, etc). also go to the windows control panel / programs and remove all toolbars or potentially unwanted software from there and run a full scan of your system with the security software that you have in place and different other tools like the [http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free free version of malwarebytes] & [http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/ adwcleaner].

Can't drag firefox 7.o. dmg from "downloads" into Applications. Don't know what .dmg is.
I received an alert to upgrade to 7.0. I followed the first step, but was unable to complete the second step per your instructions. I then clicked on "need help."
A dmg file is a disk image and it contains the software update you downloaded.
First click on the DMG file to 'mount' it in finder. A special finder window should appear with the Firefox icon in it. This is the new version of Firefox you just downloaded. You should be able to now drag that icon to your applications folder. (There may be a link in the same finder window. Just drag the Firefox icon on top of this link) -

I have the new IPad and can't connect via bluetooth to any of my apple devices (IPhone 4s and appleTV) neither from my new IPhone 4s. I turned of iMessage and now I want it back on and it's not working, I have changed my password and now I don't know what to do. Is there something obvious I am doing wrong? I have done this on both of my iPads and it hasn't let me go back on to iMessage on either of them.

I just got a warning that the Itunes that I just downloaded (10.6) could impare or destablize my system- I have had Itunes on my computer before but when I plugged in my Ipod it told me I needed to uninstall Itunes and reinstall itunes all together. You appear to be up-to-date in that your 'More system details' is showing as 4.0.1 with apparently the correct User Agent string.
What is the home page you are talking about and the advertised features: <br/>''search engine thing, and undernaeth advertises the pro's of having this upgrade''

I do not use Windows 7, but maybe some of your accounts do not have correct privileges for upgrading, and maybe your differing accounts have different add-ons installed.
Possibly some of the customisations or extensions are hiding some features, for instance I note you have bing bar listed.
Check the versions of Firefox in each user account you have on Windows 7 using
* Firefox button -> Help -> About Firefox
* note possibly you may need to restart for changes to take effect
If all your accounts are up-to-date and you still get warnings to upgrade firefox look at :

I believe its an auth error. If you tried signing in and out of the app store and downloading a free app (typical fixes) and it persists, try downloading the updates manually. If youre trying to get the Mountain Lion updates the link for 10.8.1 is here http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1571 and if you already have 10.8.1 and youre trying to update to 10.8.2 the link is here http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1580 a supplemental update came for the 10.8.2 which can be found here http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1600
Like I said before, the error isnt that your software or hard drive is corrupt, it has to do with your AppleID authenticating the download, especially because OS updates are part of the Mac App Store. If you know your way around your system libraries or root libraries you can possibly fix it by deleting specific files that may be corrupted, otherwise you're going to want to back up your data and reinstall the OS.

I misspelled my password when I changed it and now I don't know what it is
I was going to change my password and I ended up mispelling it - not just once but twice (when you verify it). So it is now successfully changed but changed to what? I don't know - Is there any fail safe for a master password? I need it so I can download new programs or changing certain System Preferences... What do I do?
Kevin AFAIK ONLY If your Keychain is locked will you be asked for your current Keychain password before your PW can be changed.

If it's not locked you can go thru sys prefs->Accounts, change the PW and your keychain will change to match (the 'Normal means' to which Malcolm' refers, above.
Your other alternative, of course is to restore from backup(s).
But it's not really 'a biggie' is it ?
Just dump the old and re-enter PWs as the system/apps needs them.

I had no issues with Ver 9.01 but since upgrading to Ver 12 it takes forever to startup but is unusable when it finally comes up. Any ideas why and how do I fix it. IE 9 and Chrome have no issues.
