My firefox restarts my PC all the time.

Hello Guys
My firefox restarts my PC all the time. It just hangs everything on the computer and restarts without stopping. What to do?
I formatted my machine and I can not use firefox. It restarts my computer all the time, lock screens, freezes and shuts down the entire system.
How do I remove it and stop the problems I can work normally.
Someone can tell me what to do? why is this happening?
Regards
Suzana

Eset looks good, so maybe it's not a virus, but I would try also running:
ADWCleaner . . . https://toolslib.net/downloads/viewdownload/1-adwcleaner/
and
Malwarebytes Free . . . http://www.malwarebytes.org/downloads/
I was getting the blue screen a while back, when I had an old sound card installed. I think the driver was incompatible.
I moved around and reseated the memory. I did a memory check. There was no problem there. I used the tip of a ballpoint pen to reset the CMOS: I pressed in and held the yellow button in the corner for 10 seconds, this checked the RAM, if there were an error, it wouldn't go up to 2048
I found that there was an update for the BIOS, so I did that. Look on the manufacturer's web page. It may not have been the fix, but that's something to look at.
Two other culprits that I know from experience - make sure you have the latest driver for your system, for the video card - not a bad idea to look at the sound card also.
I'm in Win 8.1
First, here's what I would do (have done) - If you're in Windows, this is probably the same path:
Control Panel / System / Advanced system settings / Advanced tab / Startup and Recovery - Settings / System failure / [un-check] Automatically restart
. . . Reason: Because then the next time it restarts, it will give you a blue screen, and hold, right there.
. . . This gives you the opportunity to see an error code at the bottom of the screen, that will enable you to figure out what's going on.
. . . If it just restarts, I think this flashes on the screen, then just continues to restart.
. . . Write down the code, get back online, and start googling to figure out how to fix.
. . . From the blue screen, hold down the power button for a couple of seconds, that will power it off. Leave it off for 10 seconds, then power it back on.
Second - here's where to look for more clues . . . see what was going just before the crash, and start googling what looks suspicious:
Programs / Administrative Tools / Event Viewer / Windows Logs - and look under:
. . . Application . . . and
. . . System

  • How can I stop new tabs to show up while I am using Firefox? It happens all the time...

While I am using Firefox, new pages keep opening all the time, new tabs. Even for writing this message I had to close new pages many times. It is boring, I am considering not using Firefox any more if I can´t fix it.

hello fachoa, you have various malicious addons present. please try these steps:
    # [[Reset Firefox – easily fix most problems|reset firefox]] (this will keep your bookmarks and passwords)
    # afterwards go to the firefox menu [[Image:New Fx Menu]] > addons > extensions and in case there are still extensions listed there, disable them.
    # finally run a full scan of your system with different security tools like the [http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free free version of malwarebytes] and [http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/ adwcleaner] to make sure that adware isn't present in other places of your system as well.

  • Firefox keeps "not responding" all the time ... is very anoring

it happens mostly while using facebook's posting page (FB and the Zynga games on FB are the only thing I'm on most of the time I'm on line) ... I keep running into "FIREFOX NOT RESPONDING" all the time ... I'll go to click on a posting and nothing happens ... when i click again the page goes cloudy and that DARN blue wheel shows up (I hate the wheel) & at top of computer is says "Firefox not responding" ... my scrolling wheel will not work right ... jumps up & down the page or won't move at all ... always have to be refreshing the page or exit firefox & reopen ... looses connection a lot or is out of sync & has to be refreshed ... this started to happen several weeks back after I first downloaded Firefox 4 ... in fact I've had to reload it several times ... this is all very frustrating when trying to play my games ... I've defragmented, run both my AGV & windows washer programs several times but nothing seems to help ... had no problems with earlier firefox so tried to reload it but now can't get earlier version to work either

    Hey,
Yes, this is known. We've got a couple bug reports on file and have been investigating it this week. See bugs: http://bugzil.la/791781, http://bugzil.la/792342, http://bugzil.la/790139.

  • SharePoint TempDB.mdf growing too large? I have to restart SQL Server all the time. Please help

    Hi there,
On our DEV SharePoint farm > SQL server
The tempdb.mdf size grows too quickly and too much. I am tired of increasing the space and cannot do that anymore.
All the time I have to reboot the SQL server to get tempdb to normal size.
The Live farm is okay (with similar data) so it must be something wrong with our
    DEV environment.
Any idea how to fix this please?
    Thanks so much.

How do you get the tempdb to 'normal size'? How large is large and how small is normal.
Have you put the databases in simple recovery mode? It's normal for dev environments to not have the required transaction log backups to keep the ldf files in check. That won't affect the tempdb but if you've got bigger issues then that might be a symptom.
Have you turned off autogrowth for the temp DB?

  • Everytime I close Firefox and then try to reopen it, it says that I am unable to do so as Firefox is already running (even though it's closed) and I have to restart my laptop all the time.

For about a week now when I have closed Firefox down then I try to reopen it the screen message states that Firefox is already running and I have to restart my laptop every time. This is becoming very frustrating and time-consuming.

I have the same problem on my notebook but I don't restart. Just do the control, alt, delete and bring up your task manager. Then scroll down to Firefox, end process and close. Now you should be able to restart FF. Not a fix but better than having to restart your laptop.

I think the next step is to try to rule out a settings issue. Could you do a three-minute experiment?
    '''Back up your Bookmarks'''
Use the steps in this article to create a backup in a convenient location (such as Desktop or Documents): [[Restore bookmarks from backup or move them to another computer]].
    '''Create a new Firefox profile'''
A new profile will have your system-installed plugins (e.g., Flash) and extensions (e.g., security suite toolbars), but no themes, other extensions, or other customizations. It also should have completely fresh settings databases and a fresh cache folder.
Exit Firefox and start up in the Profile Manager using Start > search box (or Run):
    firefox.exe -P
Any time you want to switch profiles, exit Firefox and return to this dialog.
You'll click the Create Profile button. I recommend using the default location suggested (i.e., bypass the option to choose a different location). Then start Firefox in the new profile you created.
Using the steps in the above article, you can restore your bookmarks to the new profile.
If you visit sites you usually visit, is there any noticeable difference in stability?
When returning to the Profile Manager, you might be tempted to use the Delete Profile button. But... it's a bit too easy to accidentally delete your "real" profile, so I recommend resisting the temptation. If you do want to clean up later, I suggest making a backup of all your profiles first in case something were to go wrong.

  • Firefox seems to crash all the time, when I open it, go to any page, or just seemingly whenever, and an uninstall/re-install failed. What can I do?

It's just annoying. I've submitted all the reports, but nothing still. So, I think it might be my computer or something, please help me. :(

    1. Reset the Internet Browser settings. Taking the Internet Explorer for example.
1). Close allInternet ExplorerandWindowsExplorer windows that are currently open. Open Internet Explorer by clicking theStartbutton. In the search box, typeInternet Explorer, and then, in the list of results, click Internet Explorer. Click theToolsbutton, and then click Internet options.
2). Click the Advanced tab, and then click Reset. Select the Delete personal settingscheck box if you would also like to remove browsing history, search providers, Accelerators, home pages, Tracking Protection, andActive X Filtering data.
3). In theResetInternet ExplorerSettings dialog box, clickReset. When Internet Explorer finishes applying default settings, click Close, and then click OK.
4). CloseInternet Explorer.Your changes will take effect the next time you openInternet Explorer.
    2. Reset homepage as bt.com again.
    3. clear out all cokkies and browsing history.

  • App tabs not saved BEFORE Firefox crashes - which is ALL THE TIME

if Firefox is going to continue to crash, which seems beyond your control at this point, and the software does not automatically save the pinned tabs BEFORE an inevitable crash, shouldn't you create some kind of a "Save Preferences" button so we don't lose everything every time the browser takes a dump?)

Right, like I'm trying to say, THERE IS NO SAFARI MENU bar. Example: I have multiple applications open, I click on a Photoshop window, the correct menu or title bar or whatever changes. Every other application window I click on brings up the correct "whatever" bar. If I click on the desktop, the "Finder Bar" shows up.
Everythiing else, BUT SAFARI, works the same way since OS X came out.  This is ridiculous.
I'm getting the vibe that Apple is trying to get rid of the finder.... this is the way wrong direction.

Ok, i change drivers to xf86-video-ati and also xorg to version 1.12. Everything seems to work fine, but now my graphic card is very hot.
It's a very big difference: 60 degrees for fglrx and 85 for open drivers. Very strange, temperature is much higher, but fan is much louder even if xorg is not running
I have to wait for new fglrx drivers...

Delete the processes. Press: CTRL, ALT, DEL at the same time. It opens your menu asking you different selections. Just click open task manager. Click the Processes tab and press F on ur keyboard. It goes directly to Firefox, you may also have to press M to go to Mozilla Firefox, depending on how it's worded on your programs. Click end process. Then just re-open. That is how you fix it that time. Use the links on the last post about hanging to fix Firefox and learn more about hanging.
