My firefox updates everyday even though I have unchecked all of the update boxes in the options/advanced/updates tab.

When it updates, it changes my home page, privacy settings, and it checks all of the updates that I had previuosly unchecked. So I change all of the settings back. Then the next day, when I bring up firefox, I get the familiar update page, and all of my setting are changed again. Note: Once I change my settings back, they are good all day - until the next day when I turn on the PC. Help!!!

Either Firefox is crashing every time you close it (seems unlikely) or your setting is being overridden. The most common way it gets overridden is if external software creates or edits an optional settings file named user.js. iPod touches or any iDevices from Apple sync only to one computer. If you sync to a different computer, all your music will be replace with the music from the new computer's iTunes. If the music were purchased from iTunes, you can re-download them again otherwise the music on iPod touch will be deleted. Do you have iTunes backup?

I realise there have been a number of threads like this now that I have started looking, the problem is the back-ups i made were saved to a server network which has now also gone down, a case of dreadful luck really. Is there any other way to get the music back?

But have you run the the iPhoto Library upgrader? It is installed in Applications > Utilities. Launch it and direct it to your iPhoto library.
Which version of iPhoto did you upgrade from?
The upgrader is only necessary, if you have been running iPhoto7.1.2 or earlier.

Thank you for your reply. I know I can use a card reader however I don't see why I should when importing directly from my camera has worked reliably for years. The process I use is simply connecting the digital output from my camera to the USB port on the iMac, which has previously automatically opened iPhoto ready for the import. Now all of a sudden my iMac does not recognise the camera. However if I connect in the same way to my MacBook then iPhoto opens automatically on the MacBook, recognises the camera and is ready for importing. So whilst I know I can use a reader, or my MacBook I want to use my iMac in the same way that I have for years. I can only assume that the settings on the iMac may have changed, but I cannot verify this.

I have an issue with my 3G connection: my iphone can't connect anymore to the data network even though I have a contract with unlimited internet access and the date/3G is turned ON. Anyone knows this problem ?

This problem showed up a few days ago. Even though I have turned on the 3G and the cellular data, my phone tells me there is actually no connection. But the network indicators shows a maximum network. I went to the genius bar and they fixed it by restoring the phone and it started working again. Then I restored it at home with my back up. Today, it started again: network issue. And the problem does not come from the network (I have tried my sim on another iphone with the same carrier). It really does come from the device.
Any ideas ?

when i go to Music > Artist > All, as you suggested, i see all the albums i have listed. doesn't really relate to my problem with artists with songs in one album, as well as song w/o album set, and the latter not showing up.
but that reminds me, why is it when i go to the All section from a particular artist and they do have more than one album (or even no albums), the order of the songs is in the order they are in the albums.. if i wanted the order it is on albums, i would have selected that album for example.. it would be nice if the songs were in alphabetical order when you're NOT browsing by album, making a particular song easier to find (what if you have thirteen albums for example and u aren't sure which album a song is on, now you have to scroll through a seemingly random ordered list to find one song, alphabetical would be SOOOO helpful!)

Resetting cleanses the iPhone of all content, and you can easily restore the apps associated with your Apple ID. Make a list of all apps, the go to the app store and download all of the free apps. Tap Purchases to download those you purchased with your Apple ID. Those leftover purchased apps are from the other Apple ID and you will have to purchase under your own ID.
A backup will cause problems with the email and such unless you have taken all of the previous owners accounts off the iPhone.
Once setup as your own, by all means backup to iCloud...that is safe and secure.

When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.

If iTunes is confused about what media should or should not be on the device, or has messed up the artwork, take these steps:
Backup the device.
Restore as a new device.
Restore from the earlier backup.
In general it is better to use playlists rather than checkboxes to control what does and does not get synced to your device. Checkboxes also prevent regular tract-to-track playback. If you use checkboxes to exclude a particular album from the device you would have to check the boxes again if you wanted to listen to it, or individually start the playback of each track.

10.7 is no longer avaiable for immediate download. You need to purchase a download code, which will be delived by email in 1 to 3 business days. Using that code, you can download the software from the Mac App Store, and it will stay available for re-download from that Apple-ID.
