My firefox version is 3.6.12, however I cannot download any add-ons cause it says I am still using version 2, and it is the same for website such as youtube where it is always saying I am using a outdated browser. How do I solve this?

But when I go Help > About Mozilla Firefox, I am sure I have the latest version and no more updates can be found.
You have or had an extension installed (MegaUpload toolbar) that has changed the user agent from Firefox/3.6.12 to Firefox/2.0.0.13
You can check the general.useragent prefs on the about:config page:

You can open the about:config page via the location bar, just like you open a website.<br />

If general.useragent prefs are bold (user set) then you can right-click that pref and choose Reset.

Your above posted system details show multiple Java Console extensions.<br />
You can uninstall (remove) the Java Console extensions and disable the Java Quick Starter extension, you do not need them to run Java applets.

Disable the Java Quick Starter extension: Tools -> Addons -> Extensions
Control Panel -> Java -> Advanced tab -> Miscellaneous -> Java Quick Starter (disable)

That does happen. It depends on how hard the server is being hit, as well as the connection speed of your system. If you are on a windows system, you will want to disable any antivirus or firewall software during the download.

It should not be a problem, as long as you are careful. Note the delete settings option when uninstalling firefox will delete bookmarks etc for ALL installed versions of firefox.
Firefox attempts to retain the profile information, that include bookmarks etc when updating. It may still be prudent to consider other backup methods not entirely dependent on firefox.
The firefox 4 beta will install by default in a slightly different location, you are then able to run either the current or the beta version of firefox. It is recommended you set up a new profile for the new version of firefox. see

The Java Deployment Toolkit plugin (also called Java DT) is a specialized plugin designed for web developers and network administrators and is not related to your general usage of Java (and is not required to be running to enable Java content in the browser.) It's "highly unlikely" this is the source of your browser slowdown. Oracle likes to "bundle" this plugin with Java SE for unknown reasons. Mozilla still considers Java DT to be vulnerable, and has considered it to be vulnerable for a long time...that's why you see this message (and probably will continue seeing it, unless you delete the plugin.) You can delete this plugin from the list of firefox plugins, but it will probably come back when you update Java. Sounds like you could benefit from disabling all Java content in the browser. How that is accomplished is explained in the above thread. -
So I was running Firefox before. and my girlfriend told me to try google chrome out. So after about a month of trying it out, I prefered Firefox, so I loaded it back on, and now I can't open any pages or get access to the add-ons. I liked firefox before but I'm thinkging that its too much of a hastle to have to do this. But if it's fixable please tell me.21q
A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

Running Windows 7 64 bit, sophos av, firefox 13.0.1 cannot download some add-ons.
The operating environment is summaarised in the question. Particularly I cannot download and install the add-on Forecastfox(and one or two others). Using the install option I get a message saying "There was an error downloading forecastfox weather".
If I go to the website http://www.getforecastfox.com/ and try to download from there I get a connection error on addons.mozilla.com.As this seems to be inconsistent this could be a temporary network download error. I think the programming intricacies wouldn't matter as most extensions doesn't contain binary components and can be easily unpacked and read by security software. Problems may occur if the security software is doing the scanning while the file is being downloaded and then repackages it on the system, as this would change the file integrity hash.

The file to download the app for Android is not working from my phone--it says that the file isn't there. However it does see the one for the Iphone (even though it can't use it). I've tried it multiple times and continue to get the same message: "NOT FOUND The requested item could not be found". I also tried through the Market application on the phone but ended-up with the same result.
I'm very computer literate and am pretty sure the problem is on your end. If this is the case then no one can download the app. I considered that perhaps because it's still in Beta that it was removed due to some other type of software issue. Even on some supported devices, a bug in the Market software prevents Firefox from showing up. This may be related to the fairly recent Android Market app update. If you go to Settings/Applications/Market and choose "Uninstall" you can uninstall the update, and then search for and install Firefox from the marketplace.

I am trying to add the Youtube widget, but I get a black box saying blocked plugin. I have even tried to embed it from Youtube as well and it does the same thing. But when I drag the Vimeo widget over, it connects like it should. What am I doing wrong and how can I fix this problem?
Make sure that both the web browser you're using and its Flash plug-in are up to date. Google Chrome has its own Flash plug-in it updates on its own. Firefox, IE and other have separate plug-ins.

Updated to Oct 2014 version of photoshop CC. since that time cannot save ANY work. I can work on files but when I hit 'save as" every time it says "photoshop has quit working and needs to close." Need solution now.

On the new version of iTunes the shuffle button and replay buttons appear to have disappeared on the genius tab and am always having to listen to shuffled songs now :( how can I stop this?

I5 still using ios6 as of last night the phone will not connect to my Internet, in settings it says connected with the check mark however there is no wifi icon at the top of phone, have done everything possible to resolve...
