Delete your Old Profile and Create New profile..
* Press the following shortcut to get a Run window: [Windows] + [R]. This should bring up a window that contains a text field.
* In that text field, enter %APPDATA% and press Enter. An explorer window should open.
* From that explorer window, right click on the "Mozilla Folder" click "Rename", and rename the folder to "Mozilla.Old". Hang onto this folder, it will be important later.
* Reopen Firefox. It should create a new Mozilla Folder with a new profile in it.
* Now read [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Recovering%20important%20data%20from%20an%20old%20profile Recovering important data from an old profile] and transfer your data from your old profile (the mozilla.old folder) to your new one.

    Hi,
If it was installed as a Firefox extension you can try to '''Remove''' it in Firefox '''Tools''' ('''Alt''' + '''T''') > '''Add-ons''' > '''Extensions'''.

On the other hand, if it was installed as a Windows application or Internet Explorer application, you may have to uninstall it via the Windows OS Control Panel, or via the browsers concerned. The [http://answers.microsoft.com/ Windows support] would be helpful.

    Clint:
    Welcome to Apple Discussions.
In terms of the Firefox issue. Boot the computer and log in. Then go to Apple Menu > System Preferences > Accounts > Login Items and see if Firefox is listed there. If it is, then select it and click the minus sign at then bottom left. The reboot the computer and try to launch Firefox.
A couple of other things to check. Open a Finder Window (Commnand + N when in Finder) and look in the sidebar. Do you see a white disk-like icon named Firefox? If you do, click on it, drag the Firefox icon into the Applications folder, then eject the white disk icon.
If neither of the above work, hold down Command + Option + esc. Do you see Firefox in the list of items to Force quit? If you do, select it and Force quit.
Please let me know if any of these work.
In terms of Dashboard, do you have the install disk for the OS you have installed?

    Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 8.0; Windows NT 5.1; Trident/4.0; AskTbBT5/5.8.0.12304)

    1. Close Firefox completely. (File->Exit on Windows/Linux, Firefox->Quit on Mac)
    2. Rename the Firefox installation folder or move it elsewhere.
*Windows: This is usually C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox. "Mozilla Firefox" can be renamed to "Old Firefox"
*Mac: This is usually Macintosh HD/Applications/Firefox.app. Macintosh HD/Applications can be opened in Finder, and Firefox can be dragged to Trash.
*Linux: The install location varies based on distribution and installation method. Linux distributions usually don't put Firefox in its own folder, so this method can't be used.
    3. Download Firefox again from www.mozilla.com and install. (Installation instructions for Windows, Mac, Linux )
    4. If this fixes the problem, you can optionally check the old install folder for global extensions, components, or corrupt/locked files.

  • Firefox wont open periode

firefox is the only browser on my laptop have no way to fix it
firefox wont open periode so please how can i fix the probleme

See [[Uninstalling Firefox]], try the [http://firefox.com/all-older.html older version], or the [http://firefox.com/beta beta]. If nothing happens when you try to launch or uninstall any of these versions, try these malware removal links:

  • Firefox wont open EML files for me any more.

I have saved some files on a flash-drive that I have opened in the past that will no longer open. They have the Firefox logo next to them but they wont open. They say they are EML files but now I can't open them.

Opening a .eml file depends on the email software that you use. For instance, Internet Explorer can now open .eml files since they are basically formatted in the same manner as .mht files are. Simply change the filename extension from .eml to .mht, and the file can now be opened on Internet Explorer. If you have Outlook, simply click the file and it should open easily in the program. If Outlook is not your default application that opens .eml files, simply right-click on the file, choose Open With and then select Outlook Express. Using Windows Mail, simply drag and drop the .eml file into one of your folders and click on it to open it.or u can use a FIREFOX EML file viewer software .

  • Firefox wont open. firefox.exe is running but will not end

I can not for the life of me get firefox to open ive read count less problems threads and none of there fixes work. I have clean re-installed more times then I can count. When I try to end firefox.exe it will say it worked the first time but it will still be there, when I try again I get assess is denied even cmd TASKKILL cant kill it. everything else on my computer is working fine with no problems, Chrome which Im using right now works fine. the only time i can get firefox to work is in safe mode with networking other then that I cant get it to work for jack.

Hello blacy001, if you have an enable firewall try to remove any rules that blocks firefox access.
you can also check your graphics drivers, see: [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/upgrade-graphics-drivers-use-hardware-acceleration#w_search-for-and-install-new-graphics-drivers Search for and install new graphics drivers]

  • Firefox wont open for windows 7

I have downloader firefox installed and wont open the solution of the start task bar end processes will not work because it requires you to try and open again. wheni click on it it acts like it will load and nothing happens. new computer with regulare kapernsky checks no other issues. it was working orginally then just stopped i have uninstalled and reinstalled already with no success any answers?

Enable the guest account in Windows 7 and see if itunes will open in that account.
This will tell us if it's a user-specific problem, or system-wide.
Then work through the steps here, depending on what you find in the guest account.

  • Firefox wont open .jpegs. but .jpgs do.

My Firefox 3.7.10 wont display .jpegs. It will always ask whether to download the file or open with whatever application. .jpgs work fine every time, so it doesnt appear to be mime types. It happens on every server.
When i go ahead and tell firefox to open those files with itself, the same thing happens.. it just wont display .jpegs for some reason.
I had the same problem with version 3.6.7 and i deleted the mimtype.rdf file in the application data directory. It WORKED! but now it is happening again, and i deleted the same file, restarted, and it still wont display .jpegs.

You should never select Firefox if you get an "Open with" download dialog. That will never work, otherwise Firefox wouldn't ask. If you ticked to do that automatically then you need to reset that action or you end up with Firefox opening endless windows or tabs.
    See "Reset Download Actions": http://kb.mozillazine.org/File_types_and_download_actions
A possible workaround is to use this extension:<br />
    Open in Browser: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/8207

  • Firefox wont open after closing

I Have Firefox 7.0.1 when i close down firefox it will not open the next time i try to use it.the only way i can get it to work again is to restart my computer then reinstall it.i have to restart my computer because it tells me firefox is open and i have to close it before reinstalling.any help would be great as i am a firefox fan.

Use task Manger or something similar to find and kill the process ''firefox.exe'' , you should then be able to restart firefox without needing to restart the computer or to re-install firefox.
    * see [[firefox is already running but is not responding]]
You will need to sort out the reason behind the problem, try reading the above article it may help. Note always to exit firefox by using
    *Firefox Button -> Exit

  • Firefox wont open

    Hello there!
I guess at some point between last night and this morning, Firefox stopped working. I can't really seem to figure out what the problem is. When I start up Firefox, it sits on "connecting" and refuses to actually load anything. I did however find that starting firefox in "safe" mode made it work just fine.
I don't believe it's any sort of connection issue because my other browser, Chrome is working just fine (which is what I'm using right now to post this!)
I've looked at some of the help files but i can't actually go into any settings in Firefox because nothing is loading (and when I click anywhere it says "Firefox not responding". I also tried uninstalling, reinstalling and using old versions/upgrading and nothing seems to be working. The last thing I just tried was to see if Firefox was in Windows Firewall (the only Firewall program I have) and it wasn't, so I added it in and made sure the .exe was in there...but still, it wouldn't open.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Ah ha! I think I may have found the culprit- Yahoo! Toolbar was the one that didn't play nice! I figured it was something that may have updated after I shut down yesterday because up until the point of me turning on the computer and trying firefox this morning, everything was working fine!
So, everything is working fine now. Hopefully this could help someone else though!

  • Firefox wont open, i try to reinstall and i get a message to close firefox to install?

i have been using firefox for years. at the last upgrade, suddenly it will not open when i click the start menu icon, or go to programs and click that icon - just nothing. i reinstall - and get a message to close firefox?? to install (while in the firefox wizard) - which makes no sense ... and disrupts the installation process. so i cannot use firefox at this time for the web.

Are you sure you are opening it with the right Pages?
If you had it previously there are two on your Mac.
Pages 5 is in your Applications folder.
Pages '08/'09 is in your Applications/iWork folder.

  • Firefox wont open - or if it does then it wont load a website - why is this?

Since updating firefox a few weeks ago it hasnt been running as well as previously. Today though a message box appeared asking for firefox to make changes to the computer - I agreed (as I have done before) & still nothing happened, approx 45 mins later it opened but would not open a web page. I have tried reinstalling but it is the same - what is wrong & how can I fix this?
ps. I am running windows 7. tried compatibility for windows 7, xp service pack 2 & 3 still no difference.

Basics from the manual are restart, reset, restore.
    Try each of these.
