My first Adobe LiveMotion attempt

I know I am supposed to be working on a Premiere Pro single track editing tutorial, but I had to take time out and help my wife's brother put up a web site. Don't expect anything too fancy, and I didn't design the dart game, but I did design the banner.
I sat down after breakfast on Saturday, and before lunch (the same day) I had opened LiveMotion 2.0 for the first time, designed an animation using clipart I downloaded from the Adobe site, and created a Flash movie to put on a web site.
If Premiere were this easy, everyone would be editing instead of hanging out here!
Check out my meager attempt. But remember, this is the first one I have ever done.
You can even play the dart game, if you wish. But don't linger too long. You have footage to edit, remember? :-)
By the way, apparently all of the folks in that type of business use 800X600 screens because the people who order delivery services are the admins and warehouse people who don't ever get new PCs. So I designed it for 800X600.
It is just a placeholder until he decides what he wants. But it was an interesting exercise.

In general Flash animations and sites are designed for 800x600 screens. You'd be surprised by how many people are actually still using that resolution or something close to it. The last thing you want is for a group of people not to be able to see your entire animation.
Look at the Total Training website's front page, which I believe was done in LM2. It's pretty small on my 1280x1024 screen, but its probobly huge, like full screen on an 800x600.
Just one of the joys of catering to a wide variety of people. They don't call it
i world
wide web for nothin' ;-)

  • How do I prevent Adobe Website attempt to install Flash Player which freezes Windows e-mail browser.

For past several days, my Windows e-mail browser frequently freezes and must be closed. This occurs whenever message near top of browser states that Adobe website wants to install Adobe Flashplayer. Windows explanation states that termination is a result of Data Execution Prevention (DEP). How do I stop Adobe Website attempts to install Flash Player, or if that is not possible, what is a solution? I have uninstalled Flash Player in an attempt to resolve problem without success.

You can find a link and instructions for the last version of Flash Player compatible with PowerPC in this FAQ:
What version of Flash Player should I use with my Power PC based Mac?
For what it's worth, Apple itself discontinued support for PowerPC with their operating systems back in 2009 with the release of Snow Leopard.  Regardless, I know its frustrating when your system is no longer supported.  Hopefully the instructions I posted in the FAQ allow you to get Flash content running again.

The article below offers some troubleshooting steps for connections to the iTunes Store.  I would also suggest signing out of your iTunes Store account, restarting the iPhone, and signing back in as a general first step.

  • Suspend only works for first suspend; later attempts fail (Catalyst)

Currently I am attempting to get suspend working on my desktop. I had managed to get it working, and right after cracking a bottle of Martenellis in celebration, I come to find out the if I enter suspend again, my screen stays black. Sigh.
Now, I am nearly 100% positive this has to do with the Cataylst I am using for my Radeon 6850. I have enabled set the kernel flag
    vga=0
properly. In fact, this was what originally allowed me to have the first sucessful suspend.
What could cause the suspend to work once, then fail if attempted again? I am fairly good at problem-solving, so even if you do not know the exact answer your thoughts would be appreciated here. Thanks!!

I'm having a very similar issue, but someone else said that they had also had it happen twice to them and they're using an Intel graphics card. Currently I've disabled C6/C7 power states for my CPU to see if that will help. It really shouldn't have any effect, but I've already tried so much.
My issue is that if I leave my machine alone and it goes idle and puts the screen to sleep, often the screen won't come back up, it just remains black. I've tried disabling ACPI and that didn't seem to help.

  • Attach 2 adobe form with the first adobe form

    Hi All,
Can we merge the multiple adobe form into a single adobe form in CRM.
I appended both the adobe form content in a single internal table and tried to download PDF file using FM "GUI_DOWNLOAD" I was able to see only the first form. Could any one guide to solve this issue.
    Regards,
    S.Balaji.

    Hi Balaji,
You can concatenate more than one form together if you us Adobe-forms for the processing. Just have a look inside the functiongroup. It is very similar to the Smartforms solutions...
Of course, you have to process the pdf-forms by yourself and not want to concatenate given ones, but that should be the case.

  • Adobe Reader attempts to open, then recieves an error message of AppName:acrord32.exe

I have been having trouble using Adobe Reader 8.1.1, every time I go to open it I receive the following message:
    Error Signature
    AppName:acrord32.exe AppVer:8.1.0.137 ModName:msver71.dll
    ModVer:7.10.3052.4 Offset:000010428
Has anyone else experienced this issue? I am running windows xp with security packet 2.
I have tried to un-install the program. Manually deleted the files by going to the programs folder and removing everything. I have done a complete search of all files and documents regarding to Adobe and deleted them. Then attempted to re-install the software. Each time I do so I receive the same error message. Any thought on how to resolve this issue?

    I had the same problem.
I installed the foxit and work just fine.
Another way uninstall the adobe 8.1.2 and install an older version like 7.0.9, Here is how:
Go to Download Adobe Reader click on "Different language or operating system" Make choices for your system and click "Continue" second step box will appear at the bottom of the screen. Make the radio button for 7.0.9 and click on "Download Adobe Reader".
    An the way you go.
    Hope this helped you.
I found these ways from user to user. I do not remember their names.
I thank them and I take the liberty to pass these to other suffering{LIKE ME} people.

  • Help with first Adobe Script for AE?

    Hey,
I'm trying to create a script that will allow me to set a certain number of layer markers at an even interval to mark out a song. Could someone help me troubleshoot this script? I've been working on it for ages now, and I'm about to snap. I've basically gone from HTML and CSS, to javascript and Adobe scripting in the past few hours, and I cannot figure this out for the life of me.
I want to create a dialog with two fields, the number of markers to place, and the tempo of the song. Tempo is pretty simple, its just the number of beats per minute. The script is meant to start at a marker that I have already placed, and set a new marker at incrementing times. Its mainly to help me see what I'm trying to animate too, even if the beat is a little hard to pick up every once in a while.
Also, is there a better way to do this? This script will help me in the long run because I will need to do this pretty often, but I'm wondering if there was something that I could not find online that would have saved me these hours of brain-jumbling?
Thank you very much for any help you can offer.

You should ask such questions over at AEnhancers. I had a quick look at your code but could not find anything obvious, so it may relate to where and when you execute certain functions and how they are nested, I just don't have the time to do a deeper study.

  • Exclusive update release for Adobe Cloud customers

    Excuse me, Adobe.
Don't get this wrong, I personally have nothing against Adobe. Please know and realize that Adobe probably don't realize this, or simply don't have a heart to realize this by now. Adobe actually losing some valuable registered lifetime 'diehard' Adobe customers like other creative professionals and myself.
Yesterday I learned that Adobe released exclusive update release only for Adobe Creative Cloud customers with Illustrator's new package update. I find that very ironic approach, because I know that diehard Adobe Illustrator customers have request for it for years. Adobe basically ignored us, creative professionals, instead of us, focusing on Adobe Creative Cloud customers.
Rest assured, Adobe Master Collection CS6 is more likely my final upgrade purchase. It was a big slap in my face. I know that it is not just me, knowing that many other creative professionals are upset as I am.
Don't get me wrong, I wholeheartedly am (now was) a lifetime diehard Adobe customer.
Dear Adobe, just tell me if I am wrong. I just cannot justify the cost benefit analysis on advantage of Adobe Creative Cloud, where it is more of "renting" while many other creative professionals including myself prefer traditional way of upgrading through Adobe online store just as in the past and at present time. Many of us prefer "traditional" way of "owning" Adobe Creative Suite apps rather than 'renting' apps. In a long run, by owning traditional app/purchase do have super duper advantage over Cloud in terms of real cost of doing business. While traditional customers like myself still own Adobe apps even if when Adobe decides no longer support, we still own the legacy versions regardless.
So, what happens if one day, out of blue, I fear that Adobe eventually realize that Adobe Creative Cloud is not viable or feasible to continue. That will certainly make some customers not happy. What happens to traditional customers like creative professionals and myself spent huge amount of investment in traditional qualified upgrades, and then switched to Cloud.. then one day Adobe decide not to support Adobe Creative Cloud.. what does this means to traditional customers like myself owned versions of serialization numbers over the years - down in the drain and Adobe Creative Cloud 'temporary' annual serial number no longer viable, and force us to pay FULL traditional license all over again. In that case, that is where I am dealing with this concern. I just cannot possibly trust Adobe on that one. I do have huge benefit of doubt on that one.
For example, with Adobe decided to invest some of its resources developed new applications such as Adobe Flash Catalyst and few others in Adobe Creative Suite CS5. When Adobe released CS6, Adobe dropped Flash Catalyst. That is one of example on why I do have benefit of doubt on long term viability and feasibility of Adobe Creative Cloud.
Please listen to us, creative professionals out of our concerns.
If Adobe refuse to listen, include us in that respect, so be it. It is possible that Adobe eventually be losing many lifetime, diehard Adobe creative professionals.
To be honest, I am very disappointed with Adobe's attitude toward creative professionals' being diehard lifetime support and invested lot of our time, tools, and skills and everything... time and money. It is all down in the drain. Thanks!
    Have a fabulous day!

And customers fall for it like suckers.
Software development during the emergence of a new category has always been lucrative. A small handful of developers with a good idea sweat blood for a couple years building the core application. Once it exists, delivery is cheap and profit-per-sale is high. Users buy licenses for several hundreds of dollars each. Each new license sale costs next to nothing to replicate in terms of manufacturing. It's all marketing, packaging, and distrubution. Disks are copied and printed for less than $1 each. Printed manuals, of course, may cost $20 or so, depending on color, quality, etc. There is real overhead, of course, in developing good content for manuals.
When all this stuff was new software titles used to cost less, but shipped with installation disks and thorough printed manuals, and a set of added-value extras, like utilities, fonts, clipart. And new version improvements were quite significant and innovative.
But once the software category "matures," with each version, the prices go up; the bundled "extras" become fewer. The focus shifts toward continually look for ways to cheap-out on the customers in order to "improve" the margin for the stockholders, and "milk" the increasingly archaic and mundane software for all that can be got out of it. One way this is done is by turning real value into mere perceived value. Adobe is the worst offender in this regard.
Print manuals have become pay-extra, or non-existent. It astounds me that in the much-ballyhooed age of "information at your fingertips" the ondisk local help has become increasingly difficult and tedious to access. Now, the default behavior of the Help menu has even been modified to disuade users from accessing local PDF versions of the documentation to coerce them to go online for help files access (this from the company that is highly dependent upon PDF). Slow, tedious, and non-contextual as it is, PDF was bad enough. Having to go to Adobe's crappy "community help" system is ridiculous.
This is all promoted, of course, as "immediate access to continual improvement." And customers fall for it like suckers.
Look at the increasingly innane questions that occur  daily in this Forum. Newcomers ask the most basic questions, making it obvious they haven't even tried to read page one of the documentation. I've been at this stuff since the beginning. It didn't used to be this way.
Are they all lazy dolts? No. Documentation has become less accessible and less thorough.
Next, Adobe turns the online documentation essentially into blogs. "Live feedback"? "Continual improvement"? Baloney. Beginners clutter what should be authoritative documentation with innane comments. Questions get transferred to the User Forums, where Adobe sluffs off its responsibility for product support to its users; which more often than not turns into a time-wasting process of the blind leading the blind.
Of course, only a mere mention of the term "tech support" will suffice. Everyone knows what thas become.
Once you've eliminated the costs of printing, packaging, and delivering disks and documentation, and turned everything into electronic downloads (causing each customer hours of downtime--often even days futzing around with Adobe's horrible installers), what's next? Stockholders still want increased margin.
Software by subscription and web-centric automation--while still increasing prices, of course--has long been the holy grail of software developers. This is true of all the biggies, including Microsoft, and of course Adobe. But how do you pull it off? How do you convince the suckers?
Releasing new features to the buzzword "cloud" before making them available to perpetual licensees will be Adobe's attempt to "sweeten the pot" to con those who buy into the software subscription scheme. Time will tell how successful the ruse is for Adobe.
The truth is, though, in terms of actual quality of the product, (especially Illustrator) nothing has changed for the better. Look at the very features that we who choose to stay with the relative safety of a traditional license are so upset about: Bundle for output? Export embedded images?
People, how archaic, how old, how yesterdecade's news is that? This is "quick development" that can only be delivered by the "cloud"? Give me a break.
It's utterly laughable, as Illustrator's cobby, clumsy, over-glorified, under-delivered, decades-late-to-the-game delevery of practical functionality always has been. So what's the big rush anyway for features that are already literal decades late? Sheesh, guys, Illustrator is not the only game in town.
Consider: Since the release of CS6, how many posts have you forum regulars seen expressing excitement over the precious few actually new features, like grads-on-strokes? How many stunning examples of use of that feature have you seen users post?
By comarison, how many posts have you seen on complaints about performance and buggy behavior? And proportionally how many are still the endless stream of repeats of the same old questions from newcomers trying to make sense out of Illustrator's uncomparably unintuitive, cluttered, and confused interface? I see the latter largely increasing. And I take that as clear indication that Adobe's treatment of "newfangled" documentation is not working. (And, of course, that Illustrator's interface is still as hideously unintutitve as it has always been.)
Meanwhile, for the first time in too many years, I actually experienced again that new-purchase satisfaction of money-well-spent when I opened the Corel Graphic Design X6 Suite package to find a full-color manual with a hard-bound cover no less! Upgrade cost for anyone with a copy two full versions old? $200. Comes with 1000 OpenType fonts, huge clipart collection, truly useful utilities, and alot more.
I still get a thrill out of every new release of Xara Designer Pro. So much elegant functionality, such clean-running speed, so stunning results possible from that tidy, inviting, intuitive interface in so affordably-priced and fun-to-use application.
Meanwhile, Adobe upgrades have become more burden than pleasure. I actually dread them, especially having been suckered into the whole "Master Collection" thing. CS6 still sits on my desk uninstalled. I just dread having to mess with it.
Oh, but James! That's why you should buy into "the creative cloud"!
Well, don't hold your breath, bucko. If I decide to let CS7 or whatever just slide right by, I'll still be able to keep running the version I've got--without sending a monthly check to Adobe.
These days--when so many younsters who have never swung a hammer at a nail actually try to rationalize renting over home ownership; and when so many middle-agers rationalize making perpetual interest payments for the instant gratification of driving a new car every year--who knows; the "creative cloud" sham may actually succeed.
But not with me. Instead of watching money automatically fly out the window by itself, I'll be chuckling away, using whichever of my usual collection of 2D vector drawing programs I feel most advantageous--or most fun--for the task at hand.

  • Adobe Air and Flash Future on Desktop and Mobile Devices

    Hello,
iam interested to develop for mobil and desktop devices with AS3 and Flash Professional and i have any question.
I see also many benefits to develop in flash as in java because javas gui development is based on swing a old java graphics engine.
Next reason is the plattform like Linux,Windows,IOS.,the Game Development and other stuff.
With Flash i can create nextgen interactive stunning cool gui interfaces for apps.
I dont know why flash sucks for the market and devices.
My question: is as3 and flash save for the future ?
Make it really sense to learn as3 and Flash ?
I have read many blogs, threads on adobe and other forums year 2012 Adobe stop flash development,
and now 2013 google androids kitkat now have removed api features that kills complete flash !!!
Other comments says Flash is dead for the market!? Many frustradet flash developers he work 10 years and more with flash are crying.
So what is really the Future for the A3 and Flash Development ?
    Thanks and greetings

    Hi mc_gfx,
    > You think i can get started with flash and air development without worries?
Software development always involves risk, so you can't really do much without worries.       AIR in particular is a cutting (bleading?) edge technology. Adobe is attempting to solve a difficult problem with limited resources, and the results aren't always ideal.
If you want to deploy to Android and iOS, and you write two native apps, you face a 100% risk that you'll have to write your app twice. While this may not take twice as long as writing it once, it will come close.
If you use AIR, you only have to write your app once, but you face other risks.
Here's the problem. In AIR, Adobe is attempting to create a framework that translates ActionScript into bytecode for two different platforms. This isn't easy. Every time Apple or Google upgrades their operating system Adobe has to try to refine AIR so that it translates everything correctly for the new OS. AIR also has to maintain backward compatability with all previous OSs (is that the plural of OS?). AIR also has to work with many different models of Android and iOS devices. This includes supporting most, though not all, of the many different capabilities that these OSs support. Adobe, wisely, doesn't try to support every new feature immediately. Instead, it picks and chooses which new features it will support, and how soon. But even taking this approach I have the impression that their task is daunting.
If you research this forum you'll find numerous examples of people complaining about features that don't quite work correctly. For example, I've put ~6 developer months into developing a language learning app, only to find that AIR's MP3 playback support has some limitations which severely impact the playback of voice recordings, which severely degrades the value of my app. I'm hoping that Adobe will fix this bug, but it's been two months now, with no movement. Another serious bug, involving audio recording using the device microphone, took three months to get fixed. During that period I had no idea whether it would get fixed, or whether I'd have to disable an important feature of my app on iOS.
    So, you want "without worries"?
Some people are lobbying Adobe to include support for Windows Phone in the AIR framework. IMHO, this is madness. Adobe clearly has limited resources. Let them first focus on making basic features like MP3 playback work properly on the platforms that they already support.
The same issues probably apply to all the other cross-platform development frameworks - Sencha, Xamarin, etc. They face the same difficult technical challenges. I can't speak to the question of how well they're addressing them, but I'd want research them carefully before I invested a lot of time into developing with them.
With regards to AIR, here's my advice: Before you start a non-trivial project using AIR, make a list of all the things that your app will do, then see if you can find existing apps created with AIR that do these things. Make sure that the feature works on both Android and iOS. You won't be able to test on every device that you'd like to support, but pick a few and test on them.
You don't need to worry about your app's logic - ActionScript is great for that - and AIR translates it just fine. But think carefully about your app's 'skin' - all the ways that you want it to interact with the outside world - input and output - and confirm that apps exist that demonstrate that AIR can handle these features. Also think about the app's infrastructure - network interactions - database interactions - etc.
You'll probably end up with a list of features that you haven't been able to confirm. You can vet these by creating a proof of concept that confirms that AIR will support these needs. Do this before you start developing the full app. Once that's done, pray that everything that works now will continue to work with future OSs and devices. Adobe has a pretty good record on this sort of things, but there aren't any guarantees.
    Don't worry, be happy        ?

  • I recently installed Adobe Reader X successfully on a Vista desktop running IE8.  Since installing,

I recently installed Adobe Reader X successfully on a Vista desktop running IE8.  Since installing, I am no longer able to open a second PDF document without refreshing.  For example if I go to my credit card company, I can open up this month's statement.  But, if I close the first one and attempt to open an older statement it does not populate and I must use the refresh (F5) key in order for the data to be visible.  If I close all browser windows then reopen a new browser session it will allow me to open any pdf file.  But, again if I try to open another pdf file, it fails.
I have tried to find this issue in this forum and have Googled it as well, but without success.  If anyone else has seen this or has a fix I would really like to hear from you.  Thank you.

Mr. Kazlow this is my first time using the forum so if it is inappropirate
to contact you this way please let me know.
I am running Vista Home Premium.  I do not have Reader Protected Mode
enabled.  I am sorry but I am not familiar with MSIE8's emulation mode. What
would you reccomend for this setting.  Thank you for your assistance.

  • ANN: Adobe Spry User Group launched

    Hello,
I'm honored to announce the launch of the first Adobe Spry User Group, Spry-it. In all the years I have worked with Spry both on a personal as well as on a enterprise level I came to realize that there really little blogging, articles, documentation and information written by the community for the community. There are a few youtube video's here and there. But its all scattered over the place. Spry-it aims to solve that by attempting to become a center point of community driven content, providing users with new ways to receive information and learn about Spry from RSS feeds to Adobe Wave notifications till e-mail newsletters. Not only will we attempt to bundle and organise content, we will also be providing you with content and Spry related services.
A few highlights that we attempt to provide:
A new searchable, API system, that actually contains all the information about the Frameworks methods. Not only the once the Spry team has documented. This will allow users to find more advance, and sometimes more powerful methods that will make it easier to create or polish their applications.
Articles, this will range from skinning a various of widgets. Till creating your own widgets. But also explaining best practices and performance tricks they can apply to improve Spry it self.
A desktop application that will wrap all the information for the users, providing offline documentation that will automatically update it self once connection with internet has been created.
New demo's, these will push Spry to its limits providing you insights to advance techniques with little code.
Working with new platforms, think about Iphone, Adobe AIR, Aptana Jaxer, Palm Pre.
    And much more.
So sign-up, its FREE And you just use your Adobe Account to log in. http://groups.adobe.com/groups/f1621de53b/summary
If you have idea's for your self, I'm still searching for a co-manager. The only requirement is passion.

Is bumping allowed in this forum?
I cannot find anything in the guidelines on the subject.
    Ben
Personally I don't mind bumping a few topics here and there. For example if something requires attention. But just posting the word "bump" will be considered spam. The bump content needs to add some sort of value to the topic.
As for Spry-it.com progress. We are currently running on our staging server, connecting the nuts and bolts with the screws .
The Adobe groups platform is getting updated and I hope to get something running on Spry-it.com by that.

  • AdobePDF.dll needed from Adobe Acrobat CD during install - what?!

    Greetings,
We bought a site license at considerable expense to update our users to the latest Acrobat (too many people not patching and getting viruses).  I'm trying to push out via SCCM (uninstall previous version via Adobe Customization Wizard) and when I try to update users running anything other than 9.0.0 I get a message that it needs the dll file in my subject.  It is not extracting the file from the data1.cab file and dropping it where the old version was previously.  The only option so far is to have people browse to the file (out on a server somewhere) so the install can continue.  This is unacceptable because 500 (out of 5000 we are trying to upgrade) people will get a pop up asking this when we are upgrading in the background (and they won't know why).  Is there a way I can tell the installer to use the extracted cab file (which I could extract beforehand)?  This is driving me insane and it isn’t making my boss very happy either.  He feels he wasted $$ if we have to "sneakernet" to all these machines.  Anyone have any ideas or who I can call at Adobe?  My first attempt at tech support with them was laughable.

    Hi,
I'm not going to be much help, but I'll try.
First, Adobe's first effort at supporting SCCM by providing a SCUP catalog is only in prerelease. There's no public info available at the moment. It sounds like some of you issues are SCCM specific.
However, I did ping high level support and got this response:
If he has a volume license, he should be transferred to a different queue in Customer Support. You might see if that happened when he called customer support.
There's nothing specific to version 9 in the KBs, but it looks like it sometimes happens if someone has installed Acrobat previously with a suite.
There are third-party discussions on this if you google it with SCCM or SMS.
I wish I could be more helpful.

  • How do I get rid of the compromising software that Adobe sneakily installed on my browsers?

I am disgusted with Software companies like Adobe that treat their users with disrespect and contempt. They feel that they have the right to just download whatever they want and install it without anyone's approval.
Downloading Flash was an absolute joke.  First Adobe shoves 1 useless piece of crap software in your face after the other and they keep popping up a window to install driver software. If you decline each one, then they do not download the Flash player. Worse, they just go ahead and install their crap in your browsers despite the declines.
And Shame on you Adobe. Are you that desperate that you have to try and force-feed other software to your users? Makes me sorry that I ever purchased your CS suite.
Does anyone know how to get Adobe's crap unwanted software off my windows computer running XP?

  • Adobe Air Uninstall problem

Adobe Air gets installed with PSE-9.  When I try to uninstall Adobe Air I get a small window with a message saying I need administrator permission, however I am the administrator, and I'm selecting uninstall as the "User" Administrator.  This is on a PC running Win 7 64.  Adobe PSE-9 was the first Adobe software to get installed on this PC.  Any advice will be sincerely appreciated.
    Pete

    Hi Pete,
I think your assumption is correct.  I suspect we're having a problem installing the AIR runtime on your system.  Could you post the contents of your installer logs?  I'm attaching instructions for both the AIR and, if needed,  MSI logs.
    1. Ensure that viewing hidden folders is enabled.  Instructions can be found on Microsoft's site:
    Windows 7, Vista, XP
    2. Navigate to the following folder (replace username with your login name):
    Windows 7:  C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Adobe\AIR\logs
    Vista:  C:\Users\ username\AppData\Local\Adobe\AIR\logs
    XP:  C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Application Data\Adobe\AIR\logs
    3. Please attach the install.log to your forum post or open the log file with Notepad or your favorite text editor and select all and copy/paste.
    4. In some situations the AIR installer will fail during the MSI portion of the install.  You can determine if this occurred by searching the Install.log text for "Error occurred during msi install operation".  If this text is found, please enable and locate the MSI log using this Microsoft document and include it, along with the AIR Install.log when reporting the install issue.
How to enable Windows Installer logging
Once MSI logging is enabled, please re-run the AIR Installer to generate the MSI Log.
    Thanks,
    Chris
