My first iPod Touch...Negative impact!

Hello my name is Vito and i'm from Italy. I bought the 2G iPod Touch 16GB from last Saturday, It arrived today and I found a nice surprise. There are two points on the display, but that are not damaged pixel. Here's a picture ... what should I do?

Hey Vito,of course you are entitled for an exchange within 14 days after you have bought your ipod touch.Knowing a friend who produces this kinda screens,it is technically very very difficult to ensure that all screens are dead-pixel free.As your picture is pretty magnified anyway,i'm sure the dead pixels are not really obvious. Thus I think you should do an exchange only if you feel really uncomfortable with it and don't mind the inconvenience of heading over to change.

I have just purchased my first iPod touch and I cannot transfer my music from my laptop. The sync button does not appear to work. What have I done wrong? I am a grandma trying to keep up with technology please help.

Connect it to your computer and restore it as a new device. Then chose what music you want to sync with it and do so just like your Touch does.

    Of course not.
Like any warranty it does not cover damage.  You would have to pay like everyone else.

how to update first ipod touch to the  iOS 5 or later?

    You do not.
A 1G iPod can go to iOS 2.2 via iTunes and iOS 3.1.3 via
Purchasing iOS 3.1 Software Update for iPod touch (1st generation)
    https://buy.itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZFinance.woa/wa/touchLegacyLandingPage
To more easily find compatible apps:
iOSSearch - search the iTunes store for compatible apps.
Apple Club - filter apps by iOS version.

  • I have first iPod touch, but can't after restore can't reinstall some apps I bought because they have been updated in iTunes to newer versions

I have first iPod touch, but can't after restore can't reinstall some apps I bought because they have been updated in iTunes to newer versions?  I am giving this to my grandchildren and their favorite game Skee-Ball updated and now can't reinstall on iPod touch.

If you still have the apps on the iPod you can delete them from the computer and then transfer the apps from the iPod t the computer by:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to a computer
Next would be to look in your computer backups file for a version of the apps that works with the iOS on the iPod.
Otherwise you are out of luck.

  • 3.1.2 bricked my first ipod touch with 1604 error

*This is my first Apple product* after using Microsoft/PCs all my life and after owning this brand new Ipod Touch for *one week*, it has been bricked by the 3.1.2 upgrade. I'm getting repeated 1604 errors.
Yes, one week and I cannot use my Ipod. I even spent the extra $ for the 8GB 3Gen version to get the latest OS and this is what I paid for?
I've tried every solution found across the internet like reinstalling Itunes, deleting multiple user info, checking USB drivers, etc, etc
Angry cannot describe how I feel right now.
The nearest Apple store is 4 hours away and I'm not driving there to fix this. If they cannot get this fixed tomorrow via phone I'm returning it and never looking back.

    I have a question
Why, whenever people get angry, do the crazed mac fans always assume the individual who specifically bought an apple product due to its advertised functionality, believe that person is an idiot? They immediately don't read the rest of the post because they feel personally attacked that anybody could be having a problem with an apple product. What did he say roaming? Didn't he say he's tried every known solution to the problem?
YES we are windows users and that MEANS we have become adept to troubleshooting issues and fixing them, permanently. I said this earlier, it looks like apple is finally having some difficulties with software incompatibilities and that needs to be recognized, not IGNORED.
I love ipods of all types and find they are the most versatile music and entertainment devices available. However, as they become more complicated more problems will arise, problems that have not ever been dealt with by apple users. The company needs to evolve to reflect this fact.
NOW! to help you with your problem... Im not sure about the NEWEST ipods, whether this will work or not, but because you said you actually updated it recently this may be possible. I dont know if it will work because the reasons behind these issues seem to be shadowed, but, if you can follow this process to Downgrade (restore) back to the 3.0 software you should have a functioning product. If it works WAIT to update until this is all taken care of.
-Download Firmware 3.0 (for your device)
-Go to C:\Documents and Settings\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPod Software Updates (files are hidden, so you need to view hidden files)
-Back up files in the directory
    -Delete all files
-Paste your 3.0 firmware into the software updates folder
-Rename it to the exact name of the 3.1.1 firmware (iPod1,13.1.1_7C145Restore.ipsw)
    -Put ipod in DFU mode
DFU MODE- press the power and home buttons for 5 seconds, (ipod powers off) release power button but hold home button for 20-30 seconds, until your computer beeps.
    * In itunes, it will detect an ipod in recovery mode.
-Shift click restore and use your renamed firmware and update.
For a 2nd gen, its the same routine, just make sure you have the correct image file for your unit.
I dont know if this is ACTUALLY possible with your touch's generation but try it... You may have to torrent the 3.0.1 .ipsw file

  • Want to sell my first iPod touch

I have two iPod touches, one from around 2008-2009 and another from around 2011 (both were Christmas gifts from my divorced parents) and I'm looking into selling my first one as I don't need it. I do have to delete my info off of it, however. I want to save my photos off of it, but I can't get them all to save to my Dropbox. I'm going to try and email them to myself so I can save them.
Is there anything else I should do before selling my old iPod? I don't use either one of my iPods anymore, not since I got my iPhone back in December, but I think that my second iPod is a good emergency backup since it can message people via iMessage.
    Thanks, Neelie.

When yo are done getting info from the devices, go to Settings>General>Reset>Erase all content and settings to wipe the iPod.

  • Synching iPod Touch and iPod Nano without impacting each device...

just purchased a 6th gen nano...want to have some songs on it and different songs on the iPod Touch without impacting how each device. Currently put some songs on the Nano. When i sync the iPod Touch, the songs I didn't select for the Nano is removed from the iTouch (wanted those songs to stay on the iTouch). Can this be avoided?

I don't understand.  In iTunes, each device is set up independently.  If you connect both devices at the same time, they should each appear separately, in the iTunes sidebar under DEVICES.
You can then set up each device to sync as desired.  There should not be any dependency between the devices.  Select one device, and over to the right, set up the Music tab (and other tabs) to tell iTunes how it should be synced from your iTunes library.  Then, do the same for the other device.

  • Installing an application on an original iPod Touch for the first time.

    Hello.
I just helped a client to buy and upgrade a client's original iPod Touch model to the latest iOS 3.1 since Epocrates Rx (http://www.epocrates.com/products/iphone/ ) since he bought it on his old Palm Treo 680. However, installing it detected multiple devices access. I assume it is because of iPod Touch and MacBook Pro. Also, it makes him sign into his iTunes account but his login fails. His account information looks correct.
Are we missing something? Apple is making this is complex and confusing!
    Thank you in advance.

    deggie wrote:
Is it more confusing than reading your post here? What does the Palm Treo 680 have to do with this. I'm not familiar with buying apps from the iTunes Store and having it detect multiple devices. Can you start from square one and tell us how you purchased epocrates and installed it on the Touch, etc.
And the iTunes account problem is a totally different problem.
I forgot to mention other things: My client has an account with Epocrates that he used to his old Palm Treo 680. He wants to use his Epocrates account on his iPhone Touch. He is trying to get its App from iTunes Store.
How do we fix the account problem? I also forgot to mention that when he logged in with his MacBook Pro (last used in 2008 to buy and upgrade iPod Touch 2.1 or so) and his Apple ID login showed outdated credit card datas so he updated. His first iPod Touch v3.1 purchase attempt didn't register at first (didn't show up in his purchase history and had to start over from the web page on https://buy.itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZFinance.woa/wa/touchLegacyLandingPage from http://discussions.apple.com/post!reply.jspa?messageID=13263739 ).
FYI, I don't own and use iTunes and iPods. I only owned an old Powerbook G4 back in the early 2000s. Thank you in advance.

  • My Ipod touch will not synch all songs in my library - on my windows 8 laptop. Doesn't matter if the songs are checked or not - only some songs will synch to the IPOD. I have multiple devices and two accounts.

My IPOD touch will not synch all songs in my library. Library is on a windows 8 laptop. Checking the songs does not matter. I have multiple devices (ipod, IPhone 4 and 5, IPad 2) and two ITunes accounts.

All songs play on the laptop windows 8. The second Ipod touch we have - all songs synch to it and play.
But the first Ipod touch we bought - only half (or so) of the songs synch. So I assume there is an issue with the newer Ipod touch. The songs not synching are songs I added to the library from CD's.

  • How to transfer the music from an Ipod touch to another one

How can I transfer the music from an Ipod touch to another one

Assuming you synced the contents to the first iPod Touch, you just plug the second iPod Touch into the same instance of iTunes and select to sync the music.  If your original iTunes library is on a hard drive which has failed, then restore that from your backup and follow the above procedures.

  • Why does my ipod touch 4g do this when i plug my headphones in? (not your usual headphone question)

Can anybody help me out? I bough my Ipod Touch on December 26th at about 11 am. I took it home registered it all all of that stuff, downloaded some apps and put music onto it. I then proceeded to use my headphones with my ipod and everything worked fine. Then at about 9:30 pm i went to listen to my music once again and when i plugged in my headphones the weirdest thing happens. The screen changes to the black screen with the apple logo on it (like the one after you restart your ipod) but it also has a little (i would call it) buffering symbol (the circle made up of 12 individual lines) located at the bottom of the apple (Apple logo). That screen stays up for 5 seconds and then switches to my lock screen which stays up for only 1 second and then the cycle begins again. It never ends! I don't understand!!! I didn't even have it up and operating for 12 hours!! I am looking to see if anybody has any ideas about what to try. I have tried doing all of the below:
    - switching off the password lock
    -switching the lock to 'never'
    -restarting my ipod
-turning it off and then plugging in my headphones then turing the ipod back on
-started playing a song over the speaker and then plugged in the headphones
    -turned off all applicaitons etc.

*** The headphones still work I can hear an alert sound through them as the screens change, and i have tried a multitued of different headphones with my ipod***
i am in the middle of downloading the latest version of itunes/software for my ipod because i am also trying to get imessages-- i was hoping that that would work to get it on there- and now i am hoping it works for my headphone problem (do you think it will) .
*** as soon as i unplug my headphones the ipod goes back to the lock screen, i unlock it, and it works normally (even if i dont have the lock screen/password turned on)
please please please please help This is my first ipod touch and i have no idea how to solve this problem
**ps if you can tell me how to get imessages that would be awesome too

Not an expert, but plug it into your computer.  If it comes up hit sync.  Unplug it and see if it works, if not, plug in again and hit reset (I don't have the screen in front of me, but I know you get a main screen on iTunes you get an opption to upgrade or reset.)  When you reset it's kind of like nuking and paving.  It will erase your internal memory completely and reinstall everything on it.  Make sure you have updated your computer using software update first.  It takes a while, but that should fix it.
