My first podcast, help!

I made my first podcast on Garage Band but I'm not sure it got sent out right. It sent it to iWEB but when it opened in iweb there was a bunch of text in some other language except for my title. Idk where to go from here, if anyone could help me I'd really, really appreciate it.

there really is no way to remove particular sounds like coughs or baby noises from a mixed recording B-(>

  • First podcast rejected, Help as to why?

I just submitted my first podcast, it got rejected. I'm new to this whole process I was wondering if anyone could help out with why it was rejected? Here is my feed: http://acoupleofdickspodcast.podomatic.com/rss2.xml

Apple will reject any show with profanity in the title / description for the show or episodes.
Your show has 15 instances of the word - d#ck
You need to get rid of that word from your feed completely.
which means renaming your show and your shows URL.
And you might also want to look at not using the podomatic RSS feed - if you ever decide to leave them - they do not provide the tools needed to change your feed and you wil loose your audience.

  • First podcast in iTunes store

Hi, I submitted my first podcast to the iTunes Music Store yesterday. I have the podcast on my .Mac homepage and submitted it through iWeb. I had two podcasts on the website, but only wanted to submit one episode, since they were on different topics, and were different files.
When I saw the podcast in the store, both of the podcast episodes were there. I went back and deleted the one that I didn't want published from the homepage. Now it seems to be working properly, but I'd like to know how to select which files actually get submitted, since I'd like to keep some podcasts just as examples on my homepage, while there are other episodes which I want to have available on iTunes.
One more question - yesterday, the iTunes listing had a link to my homepage, and today it does not. What's the reason for that? Does it have anything to do with me deleting one of the files?
Thanks for any help. As you can tell from my questions, I'm new to this.

It normally takes 12 to 36 hours for your new episode to show up on your iTunes store page.  But as you already mentioned - it will be available to anyone that is already subscribed as soon as it is released.
So at this point there is nothing you can do and nothing that is wrong - you just need to wait 12 to 36 hours for it to show up on your iTunes store page.

  • My first podcast, now what?

I just recorded my first podcast!  Now what?
How do I get it on iTunes?  (I have an itunes connect account for ibooks...)
What file format does it have to be in?  I'm recording into GarageBand on my macbook.
Thanks guys, this is my first one, really excited!

    Hi Roger,
I am new to this and am in desperate need of some help.
I have created an audio file (it's an mp3) and its been loaded onto The Internet Archive: https://archive.org/details/BBTheIsland001
The audio file for the podcast is: https://ia601701.us.archive.org/4/items/BBTheIsland001/B%26B%20The%20Island%2000 1.mp3
I then used Feedburner to set up an RSS on my Google Blogger page.
    My blog is: www.bergsandbaldy.com
My feed burner feed is: http://feeds.feedburner.com/bergsandbaldy
When I attempt to test the feed in iTunes by simpling "subscribing to a podcast", iTunes see's the name but does not pull the audio or the image down....
I've literally tried and tried again over several hours but am very stuck.
Any words of wisdom and advice would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks, Roger.

  • First podcast uploaded with the wrong logo, can I change it without removing the whole podcast?

    Hi Folks,
We just uploaded our first podcast but unfortunately, the wrong logo has been uploaded. I was hoping we could change the logo without having to remove the entire podcast? Any help would be sincerely appreciated,
    Thanks in advance!
    Ollie

Are you talking about the image which appears in the Store page? Just choose a new image and make sure it has a different filename, get it into the feed in the same way as you originally placed an image, and re-upload the feed.
It will take the Store some days to recognize the change.

  • First podcast woes!

We finally have out first podcast sorted out and I have got it into
iTunes, but have a few questions - I'd be grateful if anyone can
answer some, one or all of them!
    1. The image link in the XML is set to a valid jpg, but doesn't seem
to have been propogated into iTunes yet, does this normall take a while?
    2. I have subscibed to the podcast (well, someone has to listen to
it!) and get the feed automatically. However, if I search for it
(keyword = boardgames) then I can see it but only the "test" podcast
is showing up, not the most recent one. I did a quick test looking for
some others an the are all up to date - again is this propogation?
    3. Again, maybe a propogation issue, but if I search in iTunes, I find
it using the old name, we changed the name on the feed, but this
doesn't seem to have rippled through yet - although when I down load
it it comes through with the new name. Any ideas?

    Hopefully these will help:
    1) iTunes takes a while to link images because it actually copies it to their servers. This can take 1-2 weeks.
    2) Same thing. Even though the podcast has been added to the music store, it has not yet been added to the search and browse features. Wait for a few days and see if it appears.
    3) Like before, just wait for a few days to see if it updatres.
Some of these problems can be fixed quickly by pinging the server. Visit the TECHNICAL SPECS on the apple website for details.
    Hope this helps,
    STEVE

  • Trouble with Launching First Podcast

Hi all, I'm trying to setup my first podcast, but when I test the feed in tunes (subscribe to podcast), it's not picking up the link for the audio nor the image. I pasted the links into my browser and both open up without a problem.
Can someone maybe take a look and see if there's an error in my feed? I would really appreciate it.
    http://www.teenjazz.com/podcasts.xml
I checked it out in Feed Validator and it says its valid...
    Thank you in advance.

    The audio file is at
    http://www.teenjazzradio.com/podcasts/tjr003.m4a
This plays in Safari (though it was quite slow to start) but neither iTunes when subscribing nor FireFox would play it. An attempt to open it in FireFox said it ws trying to connect to www.shannon-kennedy.com
    The image URL is
    http://www.teenjazzradio.com/Teen-Jazz-Podcast-Image.png
This wouldn't open in Safari but from the 'Source' view in FireFox I got an HTML page with an iFrame.
So something very messy is going on at your server and you will need to take this up with the people running it.

  • I can't pull down to the first podcast in my stations.

Using an iPhone 6 with the latest iOS, I can't seem to access the first podcast (or the last) in my station listing.
If I pull down the list, I can see the top, but as soon as I let go to select it, it bounces back to the middle.  Very frustrating.  A workaround is to put an older podcast permanently in the first two positions.

Have you tried turning your phone off and on again and seeing if that fixes the problem.
If you still have the problem delete the Facebook app and loaded it back on your phone. This will delete any data associated with the app.

  • I haven't received any email contact from Apple after submitting my first podcast. Have a missed something?

I've managed to create my first podcast and was informed from others that upon posting to the iTunes store, Apple would send an email confirming it has received the podcast and another about 24 hours later confirming it has been indexed and providing a link to make it live.
As of yet, I've received none, including checking my junk emails.
The podcast shows up when clicking File > Subscribe to a podcast and entering in the RSS feed url, yet when clicking on the podcast and selecting > Show in iTunes Store, it yields no results. As a result, you can't search for the podcast in the iTunes Store or provide a direct link to it.
I'm using Libsyn as the RSS host (http://processtheprocess.libsyn.com/rss) and Feedburner(http://feeds.feedburner.com/ProcessTheProcess).
The "Subscribe with iTunes" on the Feed Burner page works and provides a link to download the podcast, but I'd like for it to be searchable on iTunes before continuing.
Is there a logical explanation to this and have I missed an important step along the way?

When you submit a feed you should get an ackowledgment email. After that it can take a couple of weeks for your podcast to be accepted (24 days is wildly optimistic) at which point you should be sent another email giving you the Store page URL. The emails may possibly have gone missing in transit, but that wouldn't prevent your podcast eventually going live as you don't have to do anything further. However the ability to locate a podcast through Search usually takes a further period, making it more difficult to discover whether the podcast is up or not.
You could try emailing Support as podcasts 'at' apple.com and asking about this, but it's quite likely you won't get a specific reply.
One possible test is to try submitting the feed again. If it has been registered as submitted you will be told that it has already been submitted, which will at least tell you that it's in process.

  • First podcast--need help

    Hi,
I just did my first vodcast--everything's fine, except...
when you click on the website link, it brings up the direct link to my xml file (which is in a folder on my server)
I just recoded the rss feed, but wanted to make sure it's ok before I upload it.
Should the <link> tag at the beginning of the file (right under title and description (NOT as part of the <item> description) have a link to my homepage? I originally put in a direct link to the xml file over there.
BTW, under the <item> tags, where I have description, I put a direct link to the xml file (rss feed), then the <enclosure> is the direct link to the actual encoded video.
WOuld appreciate it if anyone could let me know if this is correct.
    Thanks.

Gee, thanks so much, Brian. Here's a link:
    http://www.chilltownonline.com/rss/bravenewworld2.xml
If you see anything else that looks weird, please let me know. I didn't copy the xml code into an index page--just left it in the folder I created for rss. If I have include the xml code in the index page for my site, will it still call up the correct file(s) if the exclosures are direct links?
I didn't put in any GUID--what would the hand coding be to include the GUID tag with perma link=true? Also, I wasn't sure how to set my GUID id number. Where do I get that, or do I make it up? If I make it up, is there anything I should know re: setting up a correct line of 16 characters?
    Thanks again.

  • First podcast uploaded with the wrong title? It is using the title of one of the podcasts and not showing the name only of the speaker?

I uploaded 7 podcasts using Podomatic. iTunes is using the titles of one of the podcasts as the title for the page. I need to change the page title and also remove my name (not sure why my name was posted instead of the name of the podcast speaker). Do I need to delete the whole Album and start over, or can I edit the title? https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/accelerating-your-due-season/id659519611. Thanks for help. This is my first time doing this.

iTunes is simply reproducing what is in the relevant tags in the feed:
    <title>Attracting the Glory - Dr. Russell Plilar</title>
    <itunes:author>Maureen Brichetto</itunes:author>
You need to change them in Podomatic wherever you originally entered the data and republish the feed. The Store should pick up the changes after a couple of days or so, though it's possible it might not do so until you post a new episode.

  • When i try to submit my first podcast episode, i get an error message "we had difficulty downloading episodes from your feed

Hello! i am trying to submit my podcast feed into itunes but get "we had difficulty downloading episodes from your feed". I'm using the soundcloud podcasting beta, and i've tried almost every thing. Also when i try to test my feed by subscribing to it first, everything works except the episode wont play. any help?
    RSS Feed:http://feeds.soundcloud.com/users/soundcloud:users:141115987/sounds.rss

This is because you have the URL for the media files incorrect. The top episode's file is given as
    http://feeds.soundcloud.com/users/soundcloud:users:141115987/sounds.rss/http://f eeds.soundcloud.com/stream/196914893-behindthereels-ep2-everything-bethesdawav.m p3
If you look at it you will see that it is plainly wrong - you have http in twice. The correct URL is
    http://feeds.soundcloud.com/stream/196914893-behindthereels-ep2-everything-bethe sdawav.mp3
and the same process applies with the other episode.

  • ITunes rejected my podcast - help with resubmitting

Hi there! First off I'd like to say that I have "minimal" expertise with podcasts, but have successfully been podcasting for a little over a year now. I'm a DJ and make podcasts of my DJ mixes for promotional use (like many of the 100s that are listed in the iTunes Music Store). I've tried a few times to list my podcast in the ITMS and every time it has been rejected with no specific reason stated (just the generic reasons given to everyone I'm sure). The ITMS did at one point have my podcast come up in it's search results but it never actually worked in allowing someone to subscribe to my podcast. I contacted the ITMS and they have since removed the search results.
I am trying to resubmit my podcast for approval and now I keep getting an error that the feed has already been submitted. I contacted the ITMS support team and they suggested the following:
"I also know that when podcasters receive a message that the feed has already been submitted, the iTunes Store is detecting that the podcast is a duplicate. You'll need to follow these steps to resubmit the podcast after making some changes:
    1) Change the title and link fields of your RSS feed to something other than what they are now.
    2) Resubmit the podcast feed via iTunes.
    3) Once you have successfully submitted the podcast, you can change the title and link fields back to what they were."
I do not know anything about coding and/or XML and use a 3rd party application called Feeder to update my XML file.
Could someone PLEASE help me? I've been trying to get help with this for many months now, but kept posting under the GarageBand section. I'm thinking I'll get much more intelligent and applicable help over here.
My podcast is located at http://www.auralpleasuresmusic.com/. The Feed link is http://idisk.me.com/keith_bowden/Public/AuralPleasures.xml (which as you can tell by the URL I use my MobileMe account to host).
If there is any other information that will help with solving this please let me know and I will provide it.
    Thank you!
    Sincerely,
    Keith

Your site is produced in iWeb and this will produce a podcast feed for you - perhaps that's how you are starting. The 'auralpleasures' text underneath the logo on your web page has a link to the same feed at feedburner.
The feed you give the URL for, on your iDisk, has, when downloaded, the filename AuralPleasures.xml.rss - you would do better to remove the .rss extension. However the feed can be subscribed to manually in iTunes. When examined in FeedValidator it says the feed is valid but comments 'Feeds should not be served with the "application/octet-stream" media type' - this may possibly arise from the double extension. However it's quite likely that this is not causing your problem
There is a bug in the iTunes Store whereby if a podcast is rejected and resubmitted it claims the podcast has already been submitted. In order to get round this you should change the name slightly - you could do this in iWeb and work on from there - for example call it 'Aural-Pleasures'. This would change both the title and the feed filename, and so would make it look like a new feed; then you should be able to resubmit it. I can't advise on how Feeder comes into this.
This leaves the matter of why your podcast was rejected. Reasons for removal include technical problems (probably not the case here), illegal or objectionable material (again, as far as I can see not the case either) or copyright violation.
The content of the episodes is 'mixes' and I would hazard a guess that the most likely explanation for your podcast's removal is that the iTunes Store is concerned that you are including copyright material for which you don't have either written permission from the copyright owner or a valid podcast licence from a recognized authority. If this is their concern, and you don't have such clearance, they are not likely to allow you to post your podcast (because under some jurisdictions they may be regarded as co-publishers and liable to the same civil suits as you might be).
If you do have clearance you need to make this clear to them, though I'm not sure how you can do this other than by contacting Support again, emphasizing the point, and hoping that they respond constructively.
