Flash player install hanging question
trying to get flash player installed on new PC. Download works fine but install hangs and can only be closed through task manager. Have followed the help suggestions about closing explorer and other applications, downloading file and running from there, .....still does not work. Any other suggestions?
I just tried the link for FP for ActiveX (Internet Explorer) in Pat Willener's above reply, and the link did not work. Received this reply from Internet Explorer:
Oops! This link appears to be broken.
Did you mean: macromedia.com
I tried copying the url from the Properties of the link, and pasting it into a fresh browser window. Same result.
Is there an updated link available, that works?
Sincerely,

Flash player install hangs @ 95%
I think this problem started when all downloads with firefox would try to open with acrobat reader version 11. Now I can't use the adobe flash player. When I try to install it it just hangs at 95% and a window pops up - install flash player exe - no disk - and asks me to insert a disk in drive F. As I don't have a disk or a drive F this is impossible. The only way to clear this is to use task manager. I have tried using the full install, the firefox plug in installer & the windows installer. The only one that doesn't hang is the windows installer but it doesn't seem to actually install the flash player as it still doesn't work in firefox. Any help would be much appreciated

Flash Player doesn't work consistently after installation on Mac
Hello,
I'm using a Macbook Air with OS X Yosemite and the Player appears to not work. More specifically it looks like the video is going to load but it either crashes while loading or just doesn't load at all. I've tried changing the settings to the recommended and doing a clean uninstall and reinstall. I've also used both Google Chrome and Safari but I still get similar results. Very infrequently the player will work after refreshing the page upwards of 10 times but as you can imagine this is problematic when wanting to watch something live. Also I have Flash Player 16 installed which is the most up to date I can have on my system. I've also tried to clear the cache of both, Chrome and the Macromedia and Adobe files on my Mac but still have failure. It can't be the websites I'm trying to access because friends have accessed the same sites without any problems while using the same browser. This is most problematic because the thing I most want to use Flash Player for are subscription base therefore I feel like at this moment I'm wasting my money.
Thanks for the helpThanks for the note.
Please give us some details on the specific OS version and model that you're using. We'll try and find a comparable machine to reproduce it with. You can find the details under Apple > About This Mac > More Info > System Report. Also, direct links to one or more videos that reproduce this problem consistently would be very helpful.
In the meantime, does disabling hardware acceleration help? There's a section in the video troubleshooting guide below that covers it.

Hey guys,
I have just used Revo Uninstaller Pro to remove IE 9 (I think ... it's the standard built in IE taht comes with my Win7 Home Premium 64 bit OS). I had flash player installed in IE. Upon uninstalling all flash components from my computer using Revo, I did an "advanced" search to find all leftover registry entries and files/folders associated with Flash. While doing this, Revo had warned me of some files that "have recently been added" (I believe since initial installation of Flash), and gave me the option of deleting these one at a time. I cannot remember what these files included, but looking at a posting from another person, i seem to recognize some files that I *may* have deleted while removing with Revo:
Flash10d.ocx
Flash10e.ocx
FlashUtil10e.exe
GetFlash.man
install.log
swflash.inf
uninstall_activeX.exe
(again, I have no idea if ANY of the above were the actual ones I deleted, but I seem to remember seeing a couple of these at least listed to me as options to delete)
I proceeded to remove ALL files from my computer.
Then, upon installing Firefox and, subsequently installing flash on it, I noticed that some flash websites load and work properly, whereas other ones don't. I also been to the adobe confirmation page stating taht I have successfully installed and am running Adobe Flash player. Is this simply a case of missing one key component in flash?
Before the entire uninstall mission I did, I remember revo as listing more than 1 Flash programs installed. I believe I had seen two flash 11 programs installed in Revo, which I thought were just simply duplicate installations. I vaguely remember one of them being listed as Flash player 11 and the other as Flash player 11 activex? (both were removed off my system).
Are these files different and did I, in fact, need both of these installed?
Anyway, I have no idea where to go from here. Help please!
Thanks! So what Flash Player version do you have currently installed?

What exactly do you see on sites that don't work? -

Explanation:
You do not have the Flash player installed on your browser.
How to Fix the Problem:
This game requires the Flash plug-in.
Download the latest Flash player now.
So I download latest still get error messageIt is best to go to the source, Adobe, to get their software and updates. Sometimes malware can infect sites with messages that appear legitimate, but will, instead, install malware/virus/trojan on your system. Read the following carefully to install and/or update Adobe Flash.
There are 2 versions of Adobe Flash; an '''ActiveX version''' for IE only and a '''Plugin version''' for most other browsers including Firefox. On a Windows system, you should always update both individually. '''''You do not have Adobe Flash (aka "Shockwave Flash" in Add-ons > Plugins) installed.'''''

#When the download is finished, close Firefox (File > Exit '''''OR''''' Firefox button > Exit)
#Click or double-click on the file you just saved to your desktop
#*In the installation window that appears, click the box to the left of "I have read and...." to place a check mark in the box

How to keep Adobe Flash Player installed?
Hi,
I'll try to get to the point right away hoping some of you can share my experience and find a way out of this problem: My computer is a Windows 7, my browser Mozilla Firefox, I use Opera as well.
I used to have Adobe Flash Player installed on my Windows 7 for a long time, it worked well, but it seems something has changed lately: I promise I do follow every single instruction given by Adobe, checking if my PC is right, if my anti-virus allows the installation etc... Every time my download works well, seems to be installed, but when I want to use it (I do need it desperately for my work, I work in arts), it seems to crash or simply doesn't exist anymore. I must install it again, sometimes 5 times a day.
I'm logged in with Creative Cloud, I have my Adobe ID, I can check if I do have the right version (I can see the clouds pass by above the tree etc...) or I'm told with a bouncing red cube that Adobe Flash Player 11 is installed on my computer.
I've tried to activate my version as I read this somewhere, but how?
I do have Shockwave Flash plugin from Mozilla Firefox, is something wrong with that perhaps?
For a whole week Mozilla Firefox stopped responding and I had to initiate it again three times.
I'm simply lost and what's more important, I'm losing a lot of time.
My computer suffers from the permanent downloading and browser troubles.
Is there anyone who went through the same kind of experience and would be kind enough to exchange it with me?
My sincere thanks to you all for the time you're taking to give me some enlightening tips!
Kindest regards,
Gabs17 thanks!
PS. Could the reason for my problems be the fact that I haven't bought any Adobe product lately?Hi Gabs17,
Your Adobe product purchase history has nothing to do with Flash player install
Adobe Flash Player is a free software.
Make sure you have downloaded the right Flash Player as Flash Player for Firefox is different than one needed for Internet Explorer.
Please download it from : http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/
In case you still face issues please refer the KB : http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/installation-problems-flash-player-windows.html -

If you downloaded Flash Player from the standard location http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ then you WILL have the option to decline the bundled install:
If you download the installer from Mike's link above (which is posted several dozen times in this forum every day), then you will not get any bundled software. -
