Flash Player seems to have lost functionality
Suddenly the Flash 8 player has lost the ability to show filter effects [blur]. It worked fine before [I'm using Flash Professional 8 and the latest browsers, Safari, Firefox, Opera]. What happened?
Flash Player 9 is available at http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1ProdVersion=ShockwaveFlash

I had installed flash player on Window 8.1 for 32 bit and now I have to change it to 64 bit.
I don't understand what you are saying: you change Windows to 64-bit?
Just reinstall Flash Player, and it will automatically install both 32-bit and 64-bit players on a 64-bit system. -
Is Flash Player what I am looking for?
I would like to find a player for .flv video files that have been downloaded onto a hard drive. Flash player seems to run on the back of a web browser and, since Adobe Media player is not supported any more, is there some way I can get Flash player to run as a stand alone? Alternatively, can anyone recommend a good, free stand alone player?
Thanks in advance. TedTed Winston wrote:

There IS a "standalone" Flash Player: Windows Flash Player 11.9 Projector or Macintosh Flash Player 11.9 Projector It's NOT an installer, it's the whole app. you can copy it to your Program Files(x86) or Applications folder, BUT...
I use VLC Media Player for playing FLV's. It has a much better user interface. -
Installing Adobe Flash Player 10.0.42 Plugin for Firefox 3.5.7
I currently have Firefox 3.5.7 installed and am trying to access a site that requires the current version of Adobe Flash Player (10.0.42). When I download and install it, the website still doesn't recognize flash player being installed.
I go to Adobe.com, make sure I am downloading the one for WinXP/Firefox and install it, then it says that it is successfully installed. However, when I try to access the site, and it says that the current version of flash player is not installed, with a link to the adobe site to download the latest version (which I already did).
I have tried uninstalling the flash player, from both Windows and Adobe's uninstaller, and reinstalling with no success. I have even tried uninstalling/reinstalling Firefox, still nothing. For fun, I tried updating IE, and it works fine, but I REALLY don't like IE.
Another note: when I uninstall Flash Player, it doesn't remove it from my machine (add/remove program list), even when Windows asks, "Adobe ... is already uninstalled, would you like to remove it from the list?" Additionally, when I go to Adobe's Flash Player version tester site, it reports that IE is running version 10.0.42, but when I access it with FF, it shows a link to download the latest Adobe FP.使用索尼爱立信手机发送

when i click on a video say on Facebook i am asked to download the latest version of adobe flash player which i have but it still keeps asking me any ideas ?
You are downloading the Flash installer, which I think itself downloads another installer, which may again download something else that has to run. Adobe's installer is one of the worst pieces of software on the PLANET.
That said, the problem is that you are not actually running the installer and letting it update Flash. Doing so will force you to quit Safari in the process.
Go look for whatever Adobe downloaded to your Downloads folder and run it. -
Adobe Flash player, when will be available for downloading, really frustrated
Adobe flash player, when will be available for mac, iPhone, iPad. I am really frustrated. My friends are posting each other comic moments with kids or holiday events and I am always left out because I have iPhone. Also, I am unable to watch live tv on iPad when my husband watching football as unable to view without flash player.
It seams like apple is a bit behind with some part of technology, when will be available for download
Frustrated
RosieIt has never not been available for Mac.
It will very likely never be available for iphone/ipad/ipod.
Do a forum search. This is dicsussed over and over and over and over and over and over and over again on these forums.
Adobe is working on a versin that will not require any download at all to watch flash content. -
I'm just coming to realize how badly the Flash Player
(seemingly all versions) use up cpu. I'm seriously considering
disabling this player. I guess I wonder why you guys don't seem to
care about it. It's one very piggy app. I'm just glad I don't use
Flash in my sites. Unless this problem is handled I imagine Flash
could become "unused".Interesting that you say this. I have only had problems with
CPU usage and Flash once or twice in the 8 years I have been
working with it. It always seems to me that the problem is not with
the plug-in, but with the developers when something like this comes
about. The plug-in itself is very fast and efficient. Where are you
finding these flash applications that "use up cpu"? -
Why can't I install the latest version of Flash Player? I have all plug-ins allowed.
Why can't I install the latest version of Flash Player? I have all plug-ins allowed.
If you're sure you've installed the latest version of Flash, take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. After each step, relaunch Safari and test. For a "missing plug-in" error, start with Step 8. Back up all data before making any changes.
Step 1
You might have to log out or restart the computer before a Flash update takes effect.
Step 2
From the Safari menu bar, select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data...
and confirm. Close the window. Then select
▹ System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced
and click Delete All. Close the preference pane.
Step 3
If you're only having trouble with YouTube videos, log in to YouTube and load this page. You may see a link with the text "Leave the HTML5 Trial." If so, click that link.
Step 4
a. If you get a warning of a "blocked" or "outdated" plug-in, then select the Security tab in the Safari preferences window. In the list of plugins on the left, there should be one—and only one—entry for "Adobe Flash Player," showing the same version number that you installed. Select that entry. On the right there will be a list of websites for which you have specifically allowed Flash, if any. It's normal for the list to be empty. Below that is a menu labeled
When visiting other websites
From that menu, select either Allow or Ask.
b. If you still get the alerts, then go back to the Flash Player preference pane and select the Advanced tab. Click Check Now. Quit and relaunch the browser.
c. If the alerts still persist, triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
/System/Library/CoreServices/CoreTypes.bundle/Contents/Resources
Right-click or control-click the highlighted text and select
Services ▹ Open
from the contextual menu.* A folder should open. Inside it, there should be a file named "XProtect.meta.plist". If that file is missing and you know why it's missing, restore it from a backup or copy it from another Mac running the same version of OS X. Otherwise, reinstall OS X.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. In the Finder, select
Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.
Step 5
In the Safari preferences window, select the Advanced tab and uncheck the box marked
Stop plug-ins to save power
Step 6
Open this folder as in Step 4:
/Library/Internet Plug-Ins
Delete the following item, or anything with a similar name, if present:
Flash Player (failing).plugin
You may be prompted for your login password.
Step 7
Re-download and reinstall Flash. Download it from the domain "get.adobe.com". Don't click a link from any other website, including this one, because you can't trust links. They may be an attempt to trick you into installing malware masquerading as Flash. Type the address into the browser window. Never download a Flash update from anywhere else.
Step 8
If you get a "missing plug-in" error, select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Security
from the Safari menu bar and check the box marked
Allow (or Enable) plug-ins
Then click the button marked
Manage Website Settings...
if present and make sure that the website is not blocked for Flash.
Step 9
Select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Extensions
from the Safari menu bar. If any extensions are installed, disable them. -
How do I download a new version of flash player. I have tried 10 times, each time it says complete. However when I need it on a site, it says I don't have it???????? Thank you
Hello,
I have a similar problem than sam6sam had except that I'm on Safari. After the Mountain Lion security update I did last Friday, I had to update Flash. I installed .149, deinstalled, restarted, reinstalled .149 about 2 dozens times and it didn't work. Yesterday I saw that you had .167 and thought "finally they will have fixed this issue". After doing the same deinstall restart and install routine another dozen time, I give up!
I've followed all the instructions on this page:
http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/installation-problems-flash-player-mac.html
and this page:
http://forums.adobe.com/message/5067997#5067997
and this page:
http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/find-version-flash-player.html
and still nothing.
It looks like it's installed. When I go into System Preference Flash Player shows "Plug-in version 11.6.602.167 is installed.", yet when I want to see a flash video it tells me that I don't have the software and need to install it. My Safari Preferences allow for Pop-up and Enable Plug-in. My "open 'safe' files after downloading" is clicked.
I've search all of Adobe, Apple and other geeky website's "help" area, and nothing I tried worked, including the "sudo" commands in the terminal (the answer to this one is "command not found").
I'm really frustrated by this. There is certainly something that I overlooked, but I cannot figure it out. Help! -

Flash Player 10.2 Projector (debug) for Linux
The links on the flash player 10.2 download page for linux (http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html)
seem to still point to the 10.1 version. At least, when I download and run those, the 'about' dialog says it is version 10,1,102,64. Where are the 10.2 flash player links for linux? If you download the Linux Projector from http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html and execute it, the About dialog states 10.2.152.28
The previous version with the ampersand problem was 10.2.152.27 and I had downloaded it from http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/142/tn_14266.html (which is still there in that page, look for Flash Player 10.2.152.26 (65.9 MB), although it states .26, the Linux projector inside that archive is .27) -
When will be flash player 10.1 or better for nokia...
When will be flash player 10.1 or better for nokia N8 ?
There will never be flash player 10.1 or better for the N8. Adobe themselves have stopped development of Flash player for mobile devices.

Hi, I've just installed Flash Player 10.1.102.64 for my PowerPC G4. It told me I had installed it yet I cant find it in Applications. I have read other threads and have dragged 10_1r102_64_ub_mac from folder on desk top into Library/plugins. Not sure if I was right to do that? - Im missing something for sure - would love some help please.
Hi Cija, pull it back out & mount the DMG & use the Installer, but first uninstall any previous version...
You should first uninstall any previous version of Flash Player, using the uninstaller from here (make sure you use the correct one!):
http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/865/cpsid_86551.html#prob1=uninst,os=m10.6,
Download this if you haven't...
http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/installers/archive/fp10.1.102.6 4_and_9.0.289.0archive.zip
Once downloaded if it doesn't unzip automatically the double click on that file.
Look for the fp10.1.102.64_and_9.0.289.0archive folder, open it, look for the Flash Player 10.1.102.64 folder & open and look for 101r10264 folder & open it, double click on the flashplayer101r102_64_ubmac.dmg file, choose the Install Adobe Flash Player file to install... they don't make it easy!
Or I put up the smaller ones here...
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/450421/flashplayer10_1r82_76_ub_mac%20copy.dmg.zip
Stand alone player...
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/450421/LastFlashPPC.zip
Or free 3rd party...

Hi, I'm new to using mac laptop, i just got one 1 month a go, i was downloading adobe flash player and it asked me for a password for the computer and i never created one, how do i over pass this situation?
It is asking for your computer administrator account password to make system changes. You "should" have an administrator account password.
