My flash update has been stuck at 30% for hours. Is there anything I can do to actually get it to download?
I have been trying to download flash to watch an exam review and it has been stuck at 30% for hours. I tried restarting the download and it went to 30% and stopped again. I am using a Mac with the most up to date software available for it.
This morning we resolved a problem that prevented Flash Player installations from completing for some of our Macintosh users.
If you encountered this problem, please delete any previously downloaded Flash Player installer and either:
1.) Download the installer again from https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer
2.) Download the stand-alone installer from http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/latest/help/install_flash_player_osx.dmg

You cannot return to previous state. The update re-locked the iPhone
to the original carrier. You must contact the original carrier to see if
they offer unlocking and if you qualify.
What does it say when you look at Settings=>General=>Carrier?
Be advised that if your iPhone had previously been hacked/modified/
jailbroken to work with other than original carrier, it may be impossible
for the original carrier to unlock it properly. -

Windows 8.1 update has been stuck in "Preparing to install" mode for 3 days now and I cannot stop it
My Windows 8.1 update has been showing "Preparing to install..." for 3 days now. When I click "Stop installation" it says I need to provide administrator permission and doesn't have any way for me to provide this. My account is the administrator

I have already seen a similar thread that said to open a command prompt with admin privileges and type "slmgr -skms", but the solution did NOT work. Basically, it said the usage was incorrect and popped up 5 windows of information that I didn't
know how to interpret (yes, I tried to provide the options it wanted, but they were incorrect).

In case anyone else has this problem, on Windows 8.1 I had to open up the Control Panel, then type "troubleshooter" in the search box. I clicked "Troubleshooting" and then found "Fix problems with Windows Update" under the System and Security section. -
I Just bought Adobe story but when I press sign in there appears an ST logo with a spinning @bar that has been on my screen for hours
Can you please try the following?
- first make sure that you have flash player up-to-date. You can get the latest version from https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer
Now log into story wait for some time to see if this resolves your issue or not
- If it doesn't then try opening private browsing/incognito mode of your browser and try logging into Story from there
If you are able to login then you should try clearing cache and cookies of your browser -
Trying to update to iOS7. Update successful except a few more things to do. Now it is in "updating iCloud settings" and has been updating all night and day. Do not understand why it is taking so long? Any suggestions?
Try a Hard Reset.....
Press and hold the Wake / Sleep button AND the Home button at the same time, keep them both pressed until the Apple Logo appears on the screen, it can take 10 or more seconds. Ignore the swipe to turn off message. -
My adobe has been stuck at 35% for over a half an hour
Has anyone else encountered this issue? Should I cancel and try again or is this normal? It jumped to 35% within the first minute then has been lingering there ever since. Any tips or is this normal?
that's not normal.
you could check your activity monitor (mac) or task manager (win) to look for a hanging adobe thread and terminated it. or you could cancel the installation, run the cleaner (Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6) and then retry installing. -
i pod touch is stuck 'verifying restore' for the last 8 hrs... help??
Try putting the iPod into DFU mode and restoring again:

If that still doesn't work, then the jailbreak may have cause a corruption which is now fatal; that's not uncommon with jailbroken devices. If that is indeed the case, your iPod may be irrecoverable and you'll be shopping for a new one.

I Am updating my 5s to the new software Using my laptop. In doing so it seems stuck on step 6 of 6. I just don't know if this is normal to take so long or I need to start over, restore, etc.

I would recommend closing any open applications in multitasking and restarting the device. If unfamiliar with multitasking, I have included a screenshot on how to process an application close. Test the results after processing these steps.

"Spotlight" has been "indexing backup volume" for hours
I have been having some problems with making a backup to Time Capsule using Time Machine, but it finally was resolved (after a very long prep time). Now, "Spotlight" shows a message that it is indexing the Backup volume (icon for backup value stays on the desktop)and estimating the backup time, but no time ever showed. I went to Console to see what messages were being posted and saw many messages as follows:
8/5/08 1:45:28 PM /System/Library/CoreServices/backupd[185] Waiting for Spotlight to finish indexing /Volumes/Backup of Barbara Klein’s MacBook/Backups.backupdb
Now spotlight is finished estimating and telling me that the estimated time is about 70 hours to index (and rising)!! Can anyone tell me what is going on? Or what, if anything I should do? If I turn off the computer, won't it simply start that indexing again when a backup happens?
Help would be appreciated!I have done that, so I will see what happens next! Putting the Time Capsule and the backup volume on the privacy list seemed to shorten the time to 7 minutes! And now the indexing has stopped. Whether this will be an issue if I am ever looking for something on the backup volume is a question, I suppose.

Let's get you back to messaging, vardine11! Are you getting a specific error when trying the message app? Are you using the standard app or a 3rd party download for Messaging? Try Settings>Apps>Scroll to All>Scroll to Messaging>Clear cache and/or data.
