My FlashDrive is no longer listed under my Computer, nor does its LED light once plugged in to a USB port.

The FlashDrive was listed under my Computer once plugged in to a USB port of either a computer of mine.
It was working well yesterday with all my Computers, HP laptop with a USB 3.0, 2.0.(Windows 7 64Bit), and with my Desktop Computer with P 4(Two operating systems: Windows XP SP3 32Bit, and Windows XP SP2 32Bit ) with a USB 2.0, and with my P3 with a USB 1.0(Windows
XP SP132Bit) . However, today, it wasn't detected at all when I tried plugging it in to a USB 2.0 port located on the in front of  my Desktop Computer P 4 in both Windows XP SP3 32Bit, and Windows XP SP2 32Bit in return.   Once FlashDrive got
plugged to that USB 2.0, I have noticed that notification 'a new hardware was unable to be detected well'. As a result, it was not  shown in the Computer place. Thus, I tried plugging it in to the USB2.0 located on the back of the computer, on which was
working well. However, this time was not detected at all. The FlashDrive was not detected at all. If it was detected, then it would be at least unallocated. However, even its LED didn't light at all once it got plugged in to a USB, although it was lighting.
I think there was virus corrupted it.
I don't care about that drive if it was corrupted or not as much as I care about the data inside it. Thus, Could you please at least let me know how to recover the data inside it?
My FlashDrive is ADATA 2GB, it is about  5years old
Can I take apart it, and fix anything inside? I don't see any screws to be unscrewed?
I really contacted the ADATA, however, they said that the USB Flash Drive might be defective. However, they didn't suggest any solution to fix it.
Also, they suggested 'If you couldn't recovery it by software,please contact with your local store which can provide data recovery service.'
I would be saying that hte USB Flash Drive is no longer detected all once it plugged in to a USB. I.E. it seems as though it is not plugged in to a USB, although it is.
To only checked that the USBs ports are OK, I have plugged other USB Flash Drivers, and they worked well.
Thus, how to recovery data on a USB Flash Drive is not shown at all(i.e. as if it were not plugged to a USB.
That USB FlashDrive was detected and working well on my HP laptop with Windows 7(64Bit), and Desktop Computer P 3 with Windows XP SP1(32Bit)before plugging it in to P 4 with Windows XP SP2, and SP3.
It was also detected and working well while plugging into a USB 2.0 located on the back side of the P 4 Desktop Computer.
However, once it was plugged in to a USB 2.0 located on the front side of the P4 Desktop Computer . Then FlashDrive was not detected at all, and then became  no longer detected when plugging in to the any USB on all Computers.
I don't know if the plugging it to that USB 2.0 located on the front side of the P 4 Computer, or there are some viruses on the P 4 made the USB Drive be infected and then, it became defective
How could I even recovery the data on the USB FlashDrive as long as there is no space(disk) shown at all once plugged in to the Computer.
Note, Those drive letters are for parition on the local hard drive, and on the external hard disk drive.
I think there is no way to recovery the data. As some people said  drive is most likely dead, and will need to be replaced.' But I don't know why some people have suggested to recovery data on the Flash drive  as long as they know
that drive is dead.

David.Austin - yes, my power LED does not fluctuate, so I know the computer isn't sleeping, the display is just 'off'. I do have all my disks set to go to sleep. This is a recent problem - everything used to work just fine.
joejoe - I haven't yet tried zapping the PRAM (or NVRAM), but I give that a shot and reset the SMC (SMU) again. If that doesn't work I'm going to have to do a... re-install.
I'll report back with my results. Glad to hear I'm not the only one with this problem.
Agreed - there is something wrong with one of those two updates.

    If AMDS is running, you are using a USB port directly on the computer and not a hub, you have disconnected other USB devices except keyboard and mouse, you have completely uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes as described in http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1925, You have tried cleaning the connector on the bottom of the phone, you have tried a different cable, you have installed the latest USB drivers for your computer, you have disabled your antivirus and firewall, you are running as an Administrator account and you have tried creating a new user on your computer and connected when logged in as that user then you have exhausted my knowledge. The only other thing to try is a different computer. If it isn't recognized on a different computer you have a hardware problem. Good luck!

    Any one or a combo may help
    Give your iPad a reset. Hold down the sleep and home  keys for about 20 seconds. When you see the silver apple, let go and let it reboot and try again.
    Try a different USB cord
    Try a different USB port
    Try rebooting your computer
    Try closing/opening iTunes.
    If you go through that and it doesn't work, try going into the control panel, add/remove programs. Uninstall iTunes, Apple Mobile Device Service, Apple Application Support. Then redownload and reinstall iTunes and try again

  • Apps no longer listed under "all" tab for purchased apps

    This is for an iphone 4 with IOS 5.
    On my iphone when I go to the app store, updates, and then select "purchased", the apps listed under "all" are the same as the apps listed under "not on this iphone." The apps are on the phone, under app discriptions they are listed as installed, and under my itunes store account on my computer they are shown as installed. Anyone have any ideas why this would be?
    I know when it changed: I bought an app for 4 bucks that did not work when it installed. I reported the problem and got a response that they were investigating it. A day later an IOS 5 update came through and fixed the program. I wrote an informed apple that it was fixed and that I did not need the refund. Got a reply saying great and that they were happy I was satisfied. The next day I got another email from apple stating I was credited for the purchase. I informed them that I already informed them that I did not need the credit and they said that they cannot reverse the credit, but I can download the app again. I did this and the install stated I would not be charged as it was previously downloaded. Could this have messed things up?

    I did a restore through itunes last night. At first the apps were listed under downloaded apps. Four apps did not get returned back to the iphone as it stated the software could not be found. When I returned them to the phone though icloud the apps disappeared from the "All" catagory, being replaced by the "not on this phone" list once again.
    Anyone have any ideas?

    I jusy upgraded my iPhone 4 with the new IOS7 update.  Now when I hook my phone up to my Apple Mac using the USB port, Itunes no longer opens my device.  SO I can't move songs on and off the phone.  The Device selection under the File menu does not allow me to select my phone.  Please help.  Itunes has been updated with the most recent version.

  • I got an itouch in January and it is no longer charging.  I have tried plugging the usb cable into the adaptor and charging in in the outlet and have also tried charging it by plugging it into the usb port on my laptop.  Can anyone help?  Thanks.

  • IPod Touch no longer showing up under My Computer

    My iPod Touch is no longer showing in the device list under My Computer and as such can't access it to get my photos off it.
    It works in iTunes just fine, syncs fine, etc.
    If I go to Devices and Printers, it used to be listed under the Devices category as iPod, but now shows under the Unspecified category as Apple Mobile Device USB Driver, so basically a generic device.
    I have no devices with exclamation points or any other trouble signs under Device Manager.
    Help?

    Well, I am not entirely sure what exactly happened but after trying numerous times to reinstall the drivers and getting all sorts of error messages, I finally got Windows 7 to cooperate. The iPod Touch now shows up and is being detected as a digital camera under Devices, and under Computer it is showing up under Portable Devices. If I double-click on it I can view my pictures, transfer them, delete them, etc.

  • Two Movies now listed under Music

    I recently went to sync my Ipod to my itunes and i noticed that i suddenly had an extra couple gigabytes being synced onto my ipod. I went to check out what happened and it turned out that two movies that i had bought from the itunes store about a year ago were no longer listed under the movie section but were playable under the music section. This was easy to realize when i checked the size of my largest files under my music and i could no longer sync my ipod because i had previously had it set to not sync my movies. Now i am trying to again get these two movies to once again be listed correctly under my movies tab and not my music tab. Anyone know what i can do?

  • Personal Hotspots Now Listed Under WiFi - Cannot Connect

    Strange problem.
    I have an IPad Air that I enable Personal Hotspot.  Works great on my Mac, works great on an iPhone 5s, works great on iPhone 6 Plus.  On iPhone 6, I cannot connect.  All iOS devices are running iOS 8.0.  Strange thing, on the one that it is not able to connect, there is a new "Personal Hotspots" area under WiFi.  The other devices have the Personal Hotspot show up with the other WiFi hotspots - these can connect without issue.
    I thought there was a new feature in iOS8 that allowed one device to automatically enable the hotspot of another iOS device, so I tried disabling the personal hotspot on the iPad Air and get the same error.  See enclosed pictures, notice how the iPad Air shows up in two different locations, when under WiFi, it connects.  When listed under "Personal Hotspots" it does not connect.

    In Settings -> Cellular
    I get:
    Cellular Data (on)
    Enable LTE (on)
    Data Roaming (off)
    Cellular data Network (for APN option)
    Call time
    Cellular data usage
    User cellular data for...
    Reset statistics

    My daughter has had her Razr for about 9 months now.  About two weeks ago she picked up her phone in the morning on her way to school when she noticed two cracks, both starting at the camera lens. One goes completely to the bottom and the other goes sharply to the side. She has never dropped it and me and my husband went over it with a fine tooth comb. We looked under a magnifying glass and could no find any reason for the glass to crack. Not one ding, scratch or bang. Our daughter really takes good care of her stuff, but we still wanted to make sure before we sent it in for repairs. Well we did and we got a reply from Motorola with a picture of the cracks saying this was customer abuse and that it is not covered under warranty. Even though they did not find any physical damage to back it up. Well I e-mailed them back and told them I did a little research and found pages of people having the same problems. Well I did not hear from them until I received a notice from Fed Ex that they were sending the phone back. NOT FIXED!!! I went to look up why and guess what there is no case open any more for the phone. It has been wiped clean. I put in the RMA # it comes back not found, I put in the ID #, the SN# and all comes back not found. Yet a day earlier all the info was there. I know there is a lot more people like me and all of you, but they just don't want to be bothered so they pay to have it fix, just to have it do it again. Unless they have found the problem and only fixing it on a customer pay only set up. I am furious and will not be recommending this phone to anyone. And to think I was considering this phone for my next up grade! NOT!!!!
