My fonts are now in Japanese HELP

I have been wiorking on many projects in labview 7.1, 8.0 and 8.2.  When I opened a large application (7 build scripts and ~300 VI) all my fonts misteriously turned from English so Japanese.  What gives this is a serious problem.  If I start a new VI it is not japanese font, What happened?  Any help would be very good since this is going to be installed on tuesday.

Here are some answers to Smootastic's questions:
1.  No different languages - just U.S. English.
2.  When LabVIEW is not running, I double click in the VI and yes it still has the Asian Character set.  Sometimes I have seen it, when built into an EXE, with squares instead of characters.  Other times blank characters that I can copy and paste into notepad to see the digits.  Some controls still are in English.  See the attached picture.
3.  My PC and most of the other front panels are still in English.
Usually my source code VIs are ok.. but once they get saved with the weird fonts they always open that way and I have to restore from a previous version.  When I see these characters in my EXE I just rebuild it and usually the problem is fixed - I think I restart LabVIEW before rebuilding though.
Thanks for looking into this issue.

  • Bookmarks Are Now Ghosts? Help?

Hi Macophiles. This is my first post and I gotta problem. All of my Safari Bookmarks are now showing as "files" accompanied by a location string instead of a URL. What did I do? Does it have something to do with my Bookmarks.plist? Any help you may be able to provide would be much appreciated.
iMac G5 20"   Mac OS X (10.4.3)   250 GB LaCie USB 2.0 partitioned ext. HD

Don't know why it happened, but I was able to replace and reconstitute my bookmarks from an HTML transfer file of them I kept in my Documents folder.

  • Several Fonts are now missing in Microsoft Office (2010), which were present before the upgrade. Most notably, Calibri Bold will no longer display.

Has anyone else had anything similar happen? After I upgraded to Yosemite, several font families that were present in Office 2010 are now suddenly gone. Any document that I use Calibri Bold in now displays as something similar to Times. Even opening new documents, powerpoints, etc, does not fix the issue. On all web browsers, it displays correctly, and even as I type this question, I am able to use Calibri Bold, simply not within Office itself. Any clue?

It might be the case that OS X Yosemite disabled your MS fonts, by default.  I found that Calibri Bold & Italic was disabled, so I had to enable it again.
    HOW TO DO THIS...
In the "Spotlight Search" on the upper right-hand corner, type in "Font Book" and open the application.
    --Click on "All Fonts."
--Scroll to "Calibri." Click on the font to open the drop-down menu.  This should show you various font styles for that font family.
--If it says "off" next to it, right-click that style, and choose "Enable (font)."
Restart your documents, and you should be good to go.

  • I accidentally clicked a link on iphone twitter. It said my SMS and Emails are now monitored. Help!

I was on twitter from my iphone and stupidly clicked a link. A page came up saying my phone was now hacked and SMS,e-mails and such are now being watched. I immidently exited out of the page. cleared history, cookies, turned my phone off then back on. Am I at risk? Should I restore my phone?
This phone was purchased through apple, so it's not jail broken. Am I just paranoid? I hope I am.

I just clicked a link... I did nothing else to this phone.

  • The printer called...some fonts are not embedded. Help!

She said if I go into the .pdf and select File > Document Properties, and then select Fonts, I can change this.
Well, I see each of the fonts there, and I see which ones do not have the Embedded label, but how do I go about fixing them to embed them?
Will this require me to do something in Frame first and then create a new .pdf, or can I do it in Acrobat? Do I need to go into the maker.ini file and modify something?
I knew I didn't want to relax too much...something always comes up and the last minute. It's Murphy's Law!
    Thanks in advance!
    Laini

    Laini,
    A "font" is a specific instance of a typeface, e.g. Arial-Bold. The
font family (or typeface) for this would be Arial.
From your description, most things sound correct.
On the Distiller Font Locations dialogue, is there a check box for
"Ignore TrueType versions of standard postscript fonts" ? If so, this
should be checked (I can't remember if this is a new Acrobat v.7
feature). Also change the "When embedding fails:" option to "Cancel
Job". This will let you know right away if something odd is going on
    with your fonts.
Are you actually using the TimesNewRomanPS -MT and Arial -MT families
or TrueType versions of these fonts? If you're using TT fonts, then
you need to check your AdobePDF printer instance to make sure that the
font is being sent instead of substituted.
Open the Printers & Faxes control panel and right-click on the
AdobePDF printer and select the Properties option.
On the General Tab, click Printing Preferences and select the Layout
Tab. Click on the Advanced button.
    On this dialogue:
    - change "Graphic > Print Quality" to 600dpi
    - change "Graphic > TrueType Font:" to "Download as Softfont"
    - change "Document Options > Postscript Options > TrueType Font
    Download Option:" to "Native TrueType"
Click OK and then OK on the Preferences dialogue.
Now go to the Properties Advanced Tab and click on the "Printing
Defaults..." button. You'll get the same looking dialogues as the
    previous Printing Preferences one.
Verify that all of the above settings are set the same.
Click OK and then OK on the Defaults dialogue.
Now go to the Device Settings tab of the Properties.
    Set the following parameters:
    - Output Protocol: Binary
    - Convert Gray text to Postscript Gray: Yes
    - Convert Gray Graphics to Postscript Gray: Yes
    - Add Euro Currency.... : No (unless you need to use euros in your
    text)
Now click on the "+" beside the "Font Substitution Table" to expand
the list of TT fonts available.
For *all* of these set them to "Don't Substitute"
    Click OK to finish up.
Now you can try another copy of your output to PDF. When you have the
PDF created, check the File > Document Properties > Fonts to make sure
that all are embedded before sending to your printer.
    I hope this helps,
    Arnis

  • Mail is now in Japanese - help!!

    Hello,
I installed a widget for mail and now when I launch mail it's in Japanese and I'm not sure how to fix this. I added the resources into the mail apps resources. I have the english.lproj file and there's not much in it - what should be?
    Any help would be appreciated.

you mess with the application package at your own peril which is why you should always back it up before doing so. have you? if yes you should restore Mail.app from the backup. If not you should reinstall Mail from the leopard install DVD. open the DVD in finder and double-click on optionalinstalls->optional installs.mpkg. Follow the instructions and reinstall Mail only. then rerun 10.5.5 combo update to bring Mail up to its current version.

    Rick,
I have a few of your issues as well: 1) Safari popular icons are all bue making them very hard to distinguish from each other. 2) My font size is also different with each page / window.        What I have been able to find out is that in the Maverick OS - Apple removed one size of display resolution 2048 x 1152. Whether this is the cause of my 27" screen clarity & font size issues, I do not know - but it seems like a contributing factor.  Maybe help is on the way - maybe not. Cheers

  • Itunes screen fonts are scrambled!! help (see screenshot)

the ipod summary page has really screwed up fonts. It drops letters from certain page items and scrambles the ipod disk space summary at the bottom.
I have windows XP fonts set to normal size, native LCD res 1920X1200. Can anybody help me fix this?

      Windows XP

It could be the CS6 "text blending" shown below that's responsible. I think the default for CS6 is to have it enabled at 1.45. Perhaps CS4 is using gamma 2.2. If you disable the blending in CS6, 2.2 will be used.

  • I recently updated my iTouch 4th gen to iOS5 and it worked great, but now, my pictures have all gone blurry. Even ones I had just taken are now blurry. Help!

I really need help with this S:

*wish I could edit a post*
Well here is another update. I just bought an album on iTunes last week (Epica - The Divine Conspiracy). I opened iTunes up on my phone and went to purchases and clicked the little iCloud imnage next to the first song, it downloaded fine. I went to iTunes and tried to sync the SAME EXACT album and got error -54 again. So this tells me that it has something to do with communication between iTunes and my iTouch during a sync.
There is no way to download all at once from your purchases on the itunes app on my ipod and most of my music is from CDs I own so it doesnt really help me in the long run, just proves my ipod is still capable of holding songs and playing them.
Also, I saw a lot of error codes are generated by itunes being blocked by the firewall and I know this isn't the case since it is allowed in my settings and I even went as far as disabling my firewall during my last sync attempt

  • Apple applications printing -- black fonts are now blue in lion

as of Lion, both my laptop and my desktop macpro exhibit this behavior. All Apple created applications now print black text as blue. Other apps such as adobe reader do not. also things printed from Google Chrome work fine, as long as  you don't allow CHrome to use the Apple system printer controller utility.
    anybody else have this problem?

Yes, must have accidentally hit Apple+F5 and turned on the Voice Over options. With my speakers turned off, I hadn't noticed the Voice Over function in action.
Thanks, it was driving me insane!

  • When exporting to PDF fonts are replaced

I have had this happen several times when exporting to PDF from CS6 with no font errors, all the fonts have been changed in the PDF to another font. Not the default either, but just a different font altogether.
Has anyone heard of this or experienced this?

It is pretty easy to determine the fonts are wrong by visual inspection followed by the text edit tool in Acrobat X to confirm what font it is. The original fonts on this particular file were Gotham and they were replaced by Helvetica and our default missing font is Courier. I have found numerous threads with the same or similar problem dating back to September 2014 where they were blaming Indesign CC for the problem, with another person replying they had the same issue with CS6. Some of the advice given to them was to load the fonts locally rather than across a network to a server. The problem is not repeatable that is to say when you notice the issue with your PDF you open the file and export it again and the fonts are now correct with no changes to the file or the way you loaded the fonts. What is alarming is this is intermittent with no font warning while exporting or any further font warnings if the PDF is Normalized through Kodak Prinergy. It is like the postscript code is being written with a replacement font.
I have enclosed the thread I found and we are going to load fonts locally to see if this helps, if you have any other advice it would be greatly appreciated.

  • Firefox 4 is hard to read, the fonts are fuzzy as in IE 9

Hi, with Firefox 4 the fonts are now the same as in Internet Explorer 9 : it is unclear, mostly in nonserif fonts.
Is there a way I can disable that strange new feature?

Hi Co-rel, for the windows Update, I got this message : "This download is not appropriate for your computer"
I believe too it is something in my system because it does the same for Internet Explorer 9. Also on my laptop it really looks fine. I really would like to know what is that kind of new feature that is giving me trouble.
In my desktop have a graphic card. Would it be part of the clue?

  • How many titler fonts are included with CS3?

Since installing Prem CS3 I can only use about 16 fonts in the titler with about the same that are listed but not usable. (will just print circles or such like). In Prem Pro 2.0 I had loads but not any more. I have just installed on a fresh machine under XP and all just the same.
I'm sure there should be more but certain how to progress this one???
This was a new install on fresh H/D with only Adobe and Matrox software installed apart from the normal Microsoft mouse/keyboard and virus software.
    Regards to all

There are probably some fonts included with CS3, but fonts are managed by your OS. Many programs will install additional ones, and there are thousands available for purchase, plus some free ones. The installation of fonts is handled through Control Panel>Fonts. If you had more, reinstalled the OS, and have fewer now, it is because the OS comes with but a few. Most of the fonts that you remember were probably for other software, like wordprocessors, etc.
Before you did your reinstall, did you do a backup of your system? You should be able to find these other fonts and reinstall them on your system. I keep all my TT fonts in one folder and all of my PS fonts in another with necessary sub-folders, and then use either they system or a font manager to install the ones that I need. Last time I looked, I had about 6000, but only a handful are installed on the system at boot.
I'd check the latter discs of the set for any Adobe fonts, that might be included. In some previous additions of Adobe programs, they were in Goodies>Fonts, but a lot has changed. Also, IIRC, all included Adobe fonts are now OpenType, so you may have to poke around a bit to find them. As I do not have CS3, I can't give you the exact location. Also, I use the old, discontinued ATM Pro 3.5 to manage my OT and PS fonts, loading in just the extras that I need for a job, and it has not been available for some years. Other font management utilities can do pretty much the same.

  • Fontnames partly displayed in Japanese - Fonts are not broken...

I'm having a rather odd issue recently, when I was talking to my customer he needed some changes in Text. I had used the font PilGi, which comes to us from Apple with OS X. Unfortunately the font was now dislplayed as: 필기체 in Illustrator. The font is still working, and I can type new characters and so on, but my fontnames are quite unusable now.
Here are the steps, I tried to come over this problem:
    1. Repair file permissions: Volume had to be repaired with the System-DVD. Repair Sucess (Volume and Permissions.)
    2. Clear font-caches using Onyx.(All: System, Application...)
    3. Restore System-Fonts
    4. Reset Systemcache
    5. Clear the Font Folder from /Library/Fonts
    6. Clear the Font Folder from ~/Library/Fonts
    7. Reinstall OS X
    8. Reinstall all missing updates
    9. Called up a friend and had the font E-Mailed to me.
I'm rather confused and helpless. I don't want to import my backuped stuff manually to find out, what was causing the problem...
    Any help?

    Hi,
Adobe changed the way fonts are displayed in photoshop cc 2014.
Now instead of just showing the font family, all the font styles within the family are displayed as well.
