My friend dropped my MacBook and when I tried to start it....it beeps once every five seconds!!
I have a MacBook Alluminium unibody (late 2008) which my friend dropped on the floor on its side where cd rom is situated. It has created a dent over there. And now whenever I try to switch it on it would make a single beep every 5 seconds. I'm scared, is it regarding the motherboard or the ram and how much would it cost me to fix it....please help...!!!
Possibly one of your ram chips has been damaged or knocked loose. Remove the ram cover on the bottom and remove both chips. Insert one chip and try to start. If it works, try adding the second chip, if not, remove the first and try he second one.

I synced my new iPad with my new macbook and when I tried to then sync my iPhone as well it says that all apps will be replaced with apps in my library. How do I sync without losing all of my existing iPhone apps?
My guess is that you previously synced the iPhone with a different computer in the past. You will probably want to set up Home Sharing.

I turned off my macbook and when i tried to log in again it would just freeze after typing in my password. I logged into the admin account and that worked fine but a message popped up saying something about refresh and so i hit that i've also accidently changed it to automatic log in and now nothing i try is working helllpppppp

I have a new Dell Inspiron 15R. I closed it without shutting it down and when I tried to start it up I get a blank screen with my cursor. What's wrong.

I have used Airport Time Capsule with my iMac for a couple years. I recently purchased a MacBook Air and when it tried to backup to Time Capsule it couldn't because Time Capsule is full. How can I now use the 3TB Airport Time Capsule to back up both the iMac and MacBook Air? I don't mind losing earlier backups. I have excluded some items from backing up, but since the Airport Time Capsule is full, I can't even begin to back up the MacBook Air.
On your Mac.......
Open Finder > Applications > Utilities > AirPort Utility
Click on the Time Capsule icon, then click Edit in the smaller window that appears
Click on the Disks tab at the top of the window
Click Erase Disk
On the next window that appears, select the Quick Erase option, then click Erase
The operation will only take a few minutes.
Now you are ready to start new backups of both Macs. Back up one Mac first, then back up the other. Do not try to back up both Macs as the same time. -
I have a macbook and when I power it on and then select myself as a user...It won't power up. It stays in the white screen with the apple logo. I am online currently under 'guest user'. Is there anything I can do from the keyboard to fix this??? Help!!!
Could you specify the model of MacBook and the OS X it's running, please? Some of the advice or references vary along with the system, so this could be helpful to formulate a reply. I've never used a Guest User selection, but do have more than one User.
If the computer does not have an optical drive, you may be able to boot it into a recovery disk mode or something; in an attempt to see what is wrong and maybe fix it.

My Friend has a iphone and when i change the setting text messege into imessege it keeps saying text message, even though i changed it.

dears, i have purchased a new macbook pro with lion os, then after a while for a notification to update the iPhoto app, and when i tried to update it said that unable to update, then i uninstalled it, then i tried to install it but it said these apps connot be installed on this computer!!!!!

pls help ASAPThanks a lot i followed the instructions for safe mode (i found out that i was pressing the C button after restarting) i did whats written there but the repair couldn't be performed so in addition i needed to re-formate the HD so i erased the volume and then repaired the disk--> quite disk utilities --> start the installation from the installation DVD.

I was typing an email to friend. I put the ipad down to answer the door and came back a few minutes later and the screen had gone blank and when I tried to get the message that I was typing back I could not find it. The message contained a lot of text and pictures. How can I find it? I have looked in drafts.

My MacBook Pro showed Spinning weel (SPOD) and when I tried to reboot took ages to restart (20 minutes)now shows SPOD after every command and is extrmely slow

I upgraded to Lion and then all video clips on for instance Youtube freeze every tenth second to buffer more data. I have a MacBook Pro and never had any problems when using Snow Leopard. Has Lion problems with this?
Ulf, SwedenUse the trackpad to scroll, thats what it was designed for. The scroll bars automatically disappear when not being used and will appear if you scroll up or down using the trackpad.
This is a user-to-user forum and most people will post on here if they have problems. You very rarely get people posting to say there update went smooth. The fact is the vast majority of Mountain Lion users will not be experiencing any major problems with the OS, or maybe with apps which are not compatible, but thats hardly Apple's fault if developers don't update their apps. -

Open Disk Utility from your utilities folder and repair permissions.
