Try holding down the Sleep/Lock Button and the Home Button together until (if it does) the iPhone turns off. Keep holding until the Apple logo appears, then let go once you see it.

I suspect you have some type of hardware problem. As you didn't mention why you were doing a restore I suspect it was from a system crash of some type. What caused that crash, if there was one, is the reason the system has now Hung again trying to restore it. -

If the failed installation of Java is preventing your computer from shutting down normally, then I'd like you to please first try to force quit the unresponsive installer.

I went into system preferences to sync icloud to my iphone, and i guess i left it up and now everytime i click system preferences the icloud part comes up. That part has a white screen over it with a little padlock in the upper right hand corner, and because of this i can't even restart my computer. Can somone please help me, thank you!

I'm having the same problem as well, but on the battery drain however, you can drain it faster by using voice control. If you have music on your device, you can use the voice control to play the music. Still takes a lot of time, but at least it goes faster. By the way, I tried running down the battery for over 10 times now, but it still does nothing. If this is in your case as well, it could be a loose lcd cable and you need to get it repaired or try yourself. There should be some good tutorials on the web.

I tried connecting to my phones hotspot and the first time it didn't connect. I tried again and it worked fine but the message saying it didn't work was still there. After a day it is still there and my computer even died and when it charged again the message was still there. My computer won't allow me to shut down or restart because i can't close the system preferences. What do I do?

I just received a so called new genuie battery for my macbook 13'' , 2008 aluminum. But mac couldn't start if only with the battery. When I plug in the charger, there shows green light, so whcih means it doesn't charge the battery at all. In addition, I have to press the start bottom for a while, in order to start the computer. By press normally, I can hear some noise seems like from hardware, but nothing happens then. It is the same sound as, when only electricity connects to mac but without battery, my mac suddenly become black screen (shut down without any notification).
Does anyone know what's problem with my mac or the new battery or both?
I really appriciate if anyone can help me with the problem bother me a lot!

My 4S phone has completely frozen and will not even shut down.
I was trying to open a video link, and now I just have a black screen with the spinning white circle (which is not spinning). I have tried both pressing and holding the power button to try and force a shut down (nothing happened) and pressing and holding the power and home keys to reset (still nothing).
Force your device into rebooting by holding down the Home and Sleep buttons until the Apple logo appears, then release. Wait for your lock screen to appear.

There is a TV series season that itunes identifies as PURCHASED but will not download as it says it has already been downloaded but I have no idea where the initial download is. Anyone know how to fix this?

my 5th ten iPod is basically doing nothing but trying over and over again to start up. I've tried to restore it, but when the logo apple appears, it simply shut down. It sounds like the battery could be going bad as well as the iPod's Hard drive. You'll want to have the iPod serviced either by Apple or a third party repair company. Here is Apple's pricing:

Either they're being sent to a different email address, or got caught in a spam filter, or something's wrong at Apple's end. If you can't find the email, you need to ask Apple to reset your security questions, which can be done by phoning AppleCare and asking for the Account Security team, or clicking here and picking a method, or if your country isn't listed in either article, filling out and submitting this form.
